Personally i think the first three seasons were awesome, i loved it. Unfortunately they stopped showing it in the U.K on normal T.V (bbc1, bbc2, ITV, C4, C5) which is all the chanels i have :sadshoe: :chinami: I miss it but after about series 5 i heard it wnet downhill? Sorry if I'm wrong, the only chance i get to watch it now it at my aunties (where she has SKY).
What does everyone else think of it and the games/films (Which i also love except D/P i couldn't get into them...)

Sorry if there's already a post like this, i scrolled back about 5 pages but couldn't find one...

The series: It was really good at first, but after a while, it lost its originality. The most recent episodes I saw were pretty much make new friend, beat Team Rocket, leave. Nothing new.

The abridged series: There are several of these, but I can't find one that is worth watching. Probably because YuGiOh! Abridged set the bar too high...

The games: Each new generation has its features, but they're pretty repetitive. But for someone like me, who usually doesn't have the patience for all those side quests, it's kinda lost its flair. (The only exception is the Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon games. They were fresh and new, and had an interesting plot. The later generation had a much better... everything, actually.)

All in all, I love Pokemon, as long as there's something new once in a while.

D/P season seems to be the season trying to surpass all the crap they did before. (*coughJohtocough*) I mean so far it had the least Team Rocket appearances. (Dawn is really asking for the FCC though; maid cafe episode wtf)

There was a really good Abridged attempted done by this 13 year old boy. He only did the very first episode but he did the parody voices very well and seems to have very good video editing skills.

I'm planning on getting Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 tomorrow. ^^

On my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue, here are my legendaries:
Articuno
Moltres
Zapdos
Lugia
Ho-Oh
Celebi
Groudon
Kyogre
Entei
Rayquaza

Before you ask, my Charizard, Blaze, is Level 100. I always equip him with Friend Bow. I just ignore that "circle around the field and you reqruit them easier" crap. I just use my Fly move and beat him for -999 damage. It took me only twice to get the legendary birds, once for Lugia, once for Ho-Oh, none for Celebi, five times for Groudon o_O, once for Rayquaza, and once for Entei. Oh, and once for Kyogre.

ALWAYS USE FRIEND BOW.

Oh, and I used the infinate storage AR code, but I didn't use L+R or the L+Up code to get the legends I have now.

That sounds like the past ten years. And now I feel dirty for still loving this series.

Team Rocket is the best part of the entire series, hands down. I'm a shameless Rocketshipper.

Someone needs to make an OVA for the Pokemon Special Manga. That storyline is...ho'shit.

http://netkun.com/pockemon/

For anyone without a clue it's a storyline based on the video game characters (Red, Blue, etc.) but rather has a bit of universe on it's own. It WAS published back in the day for America (only finished halfway the Gold/Silver/Crystal Arc, then it stopped; there are like 50+ volumes still running) and the only way to get English copies of the current arc (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum) is to import the ones from Southeast Asia.

The storyline is rather mature compared to what you usual might now (on-panel death; questionable subplots like a main character's blood getting sucked out by a possessed Pokemon; recurring people subject to the Blessed With Suck/I Must Scream trope).

I personally like how the mangaka depicts Pokeballs. Transparent spheres that shrink the Pokemon. (so you can still see them)

I thought I saw some of those in the store one time... I never really knew what they were about, though. The Pokémon manga I have from back in the day was like a totally different take on the story. It starts off with Pikachu chewing the wires in the walls over at Ash's house. And if I'm remembering correctly, it was one of those "Mom, can we keep him?" kind of moments. I still have them somewhere.

Yeah Pokemon is just one of those franchises that have a bunch of manga made by a bunch of people are that are either wtf and have nothing to do with the main series or are a quite good but very different from the canon.

Pokemon Show: BIG money maker for 4kids, too bad they don't own it now. I enjoyed the first Season or Two, but now it's..... BAD..... though.... Ash did hit puberty finally now.

Pokemon Games: I enjoy these games... well... the actual games... not the Puzzle Mania stuff and all that. Pokemon Snap was ok.... but I prefer the actual search the giant map and what not. I'm almost undefeated on Pokemon Pearl Wifi too. :gant:

I enjoy how they keep torturing fans on whether there will be a remake of that generation or not.

"HAY GAIS NEW GAME!"

"YAEYZ G/S/C REMAKE?"

"NO BUT PLATINUM FOR THE D/P GEN"

"...Oh."

And I've seen the original Japanese version of the first movie. And MAN, how much they butchered it in the dub. Of course I heard of the wtf music differences and the "FIGHTING IS WRONG GAIS" moral added randomly but...wow. The voices were more serious and things were pretty dark. Now I have to find that radio drama that comes along with it. Translations too.

Arcanine
Zapdos
Alakazam
Suicune
Raichu
Rhydon

Well, if you had to, play Ruby or Saphire and Pearl or Diamond. I haven't picked up Leafgreen of Firered, just because I still have my Red and Blue version (though Missingno killed off Red....), and all I know that's really knew to the game is the Islands......

But, it's really your choice. :yuusaku:

Darkrai
Kingler

Just read up abit and yeah, A remake of Silver/Gold would be awesomeness itself! They were my two favourite games and my favourite season, Jhoto rocks!

AND I just ordered the second and thrid movies from Ebay! Can't wait for them to arrive!

I find my usual team on Red/Blue or Fire red,/Leaf green are-

Raichu
Pidgeot
Alakazam
Gyarados
Charizard/Blastoise/Venasaur
Nido-king/queen

There is the odd exception but i tend to stick to these guys, they rock...

Favourite pokemon-

Pikachu - Sooooo adorable, he's the best cutest thing ever, i even have 16 cuddly toys of him!

Gyarados - My favourite fighting pokemon, he's great and i especially love hyper beam, it's so perty!

Bidoof - Yes i know alot of people really hate him but he reminds me of my hamster Toffee-who also has big teeth (all the better for biting me with) I also think that Bidoof is majorly cute

Bulbasaur - Poor bulbasaur, he gets no love, everyone loves Charmander and squirtle (who i also love) and people forget about him, he's so loyal in the anime and also cute and kind all the time, Bulbasaur=The best for for me lol

Raichu - Another practically ignored pokemon who's also great, In the anime he's shown as a big bully belonging to L.T Surge who beats up pikachu, it's not fair i love Raichu, he's cute and gets overlooked because Pichu was created, well guees what, as cute as Pichu is, i still prefer Raichu!

Mew - So cute and lovable

Lugia - I REALLY love his theme music - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw9p0NMaE3M&feature=related I'm sure you'll agree, it's soo sad and beautiful, I cry everytime i hear this

There are many more, i just cant think of them right now lol, maybe i'll post them another time...

I played D/P before, and I'm still not sure whether it beats G/S/C. Of course, new stuff and all. ITS THE DS. But then, nothing is more epic than defeating a Lvl 80+ Pikachu (What level, exactly). Plus, two regions. Kanto should have been more epic, but it is still the WIN!

If they're going to make another game, take a cue from those epic RPG developers. Make the storyline so good you'll hate the villains so much that you'll kill them anytime, anyday (well, not really KILL them, just like beat them in battle) .

I think it was from the Electric Tale of Pikachu, which is IMO, not that great. Nothing beats Pokemon Special (or whatever its called) despite the fact it takes 9 months to reach my country.

I'm gonna steer this thread away from the games and get back to the anime for a few post maybe. Does anyone still watch the Pokemon anime besides me? They had an awesome episode on today (A Triple Fighting Chance) where Ash battled for his third gym badge in Sinnoh and I got to say the fights were impressive. And Ash actually used a pretty good team too which a bit shocking considering Ash's past matches. Plus, He didn't use Pikachu! Lucario Vs Buizel was one of the best matches I've seen in Pokemon in a LONG time. :sal:

Wow. Thats complicated to explain. Apart from the movies/specials/spin-offs, there are about 11 seasons. But I stopped watching Pokemon after some episodes from the Johto league. But I still buy the MAIN games event to this day (the only spin-offs I bought were:

Pokemon Pinball (GBC)
Pokemon Puzzle Challenge (GBC)
Pokemon Ranger (DS...I only bought this in order to get Manaphy but I traded it in after I got it)

Yeah, That would have worked in the first few seasons but nowadays, Brock gets punched in back or stomach by one of his Pokemon whenever he hits on a girl and gets paralyzed and he gets dragged away. (How he gets paralyzed from a Posioning move, I don't understand. :yuusaku: )

And in the newer seasons, There are actually 2 girls that actually like him but it doesn't work for someone reason. One leaves Brock after they lose a double battle because she got some idea that it was her fault they lose. The other was Milk Maid that he ended up tutoring and then rejected. Seriously, What the heck was up with that? :eh?:
