Hah! One of the most random animes out there!
I find it pretty funny with the random humour kicked in, I mean really.

Azumanga Daioh is my favorite anime. I've got a bunch of posters, the DVD thin pack, and the 4 volumes of manga. I enjoy watching both the Japanese and English version. I play random episodes all the time too. I've got a winter/the regular uniform in my closet. Sakaki is my favorite, and I've cosplayed as her a couple of times for Anime Expo. I love their yearly visits to Chiyo's summer home too.

Azumanga Daioh is good for a one time through. It's pointless to watch it more than once, as half of the show is in "shock" value, where you slowly await the inevitable, naturally pulled off punch line. Like Osaka waiting for the stop light. That joke's funny once, but after you've seen it through and you're not 'surprised' anymore, it's not funny.

I find Sakaki, Chiyo, and Osaka to all be absolutely adorable. Sakaki is <3.

(plus, that one girl's HUGE crush on her is hilarious)

I love Azumanga Daioh. My group of six friends are nearly identical to the six main characters, and my mom is like Yukari, while my friend's mom is like Nyamo. I live a very crazy life with them around...

Azumanga Daioh was so hilarious! One of my favorite parts has got to be the scene with the foreigner ("It's no good, he speaks German!"). XD

I just watched almost the whole series yesterday, and refused to sleep until I watched every episode I could find online
I love it. Sometimes the punchlines were a little, elongated maybe.
But it's still hilarious. You can't hate any character. They're all crazy and loveable in their own little ways.
Gosh I wish I was as enthusiastic as Tomo.

Oh I love it. Lovelovelovelove. It's my favorite anime every and, unlike Holy Hell, I could watch it forever. Whenver I'm feeling down, anxious or sad about anything, I'll just watch an episode or two or read a volume of the manga and it unfailingly cherrs me straight up. Oh, it's wonderful.

It's hard to put into words the charm and appeal of an anime that is little more than the day-to-day activities of a group of schoolgirls, but there's something irresitable about Azumanga that draws you in and doesn't let go. There are eight main characters; six girls and their two teachers, plus a few utterly hilarious side characters (Mr Kimura, Chiyo-Chan's Dad, Kaorin...) and after twenty-six episodes I think it's impossible to not have a special place in your heart of each of them. From Osaka struggling to learn the difference between an escaltor and elevator to Nyamo getting drunk and accidentally telling her students about her sexual experiences from her youth, it's how real the characters are that brings the series to life. In every character you can see traits of people within your own life; everybody knows a Sakaki, has a Tomo in their life and has an Osaka side to themselves.
After telling my friends I was learning to drive, one of them said "Even if you manage to get a license, I'm never riding with you." I asked "Why not?" to which he responded "Because you're Yukari".

But I think the thing that makes Azumanga so special and different to other animes is that it doesn't try and follow conventions; there aren't any giant robots or people turning into animals... it just shows and makes you realize that the important things in life that stay with you forever - high school and otherwise - aren't the huge life-altering challenges and changes but the little day-to-day things that you take for granted.

I can't reccomend it highly enough. :3

My favorite character? I absolutely love them all, but I think I'll have to go with Yukari. This may be a little egotistical because most people who know me and have seen the anime say we're freakishly similar, but she's hilarious and wonderful. I also love Nyamo and Osaka. And poor Kaorin's absolutely adorable, too.

Heheh. I love Azumanga. I've got them all on DVD (because I'm a huge DVD hoarder) and I'm collecting the manga now. It's just so bizarre and hilarious, but at the same time it doesn't seem incredibly farfetched because sometimes that's how groups of friends really act. Between Tomo teasing Yomi about being "fat" (hardly), Osaka always being late and sleeping in class (that's just me all over) and Yomi talking back to the radio when it encourages her to lose the weight, you have to admit it's these little things that most people have done before

Heh. Though it does sorta disturb me that Azumanga Daioh was created by a guy who had done hentai manga in the past as well.

Really, that's all there is to say about it. It's definitely a "one shot" anime, in that you could pick it up again like maybe every 1-2 years. So kawaii...
