We're not faced with a Gyakuten Saiban 2-level of separation between the Japanese and US releases.

I only did it last time because knowing that I could be playing the game 3 months earlier than it would even see light of day in the US was just too tempting.

One month? Nah, not a big deal.

Being a Brit boy I feel I have no other choice...

Plus you probably get manga with the Jap. version.

Decisions...decisions...
I think I'll import...when JFA came out it was a test to see whether the series would continue, or at least that was what it felt like. Now, with the sales of JFA and GS4 in Japan, I'm pretty sure the series is safe, or at least relatively safe. Despite the fact that I've already spoilt quite a lot of T&T, I would like to keep away from what I haven't spoilt. And it is fun tricking my mates into believing that I can read Japanese by 'translating' the manual...

I'll probably import it because i'm impatient. xP
And i'd rather have a japanese cover.
Damn. I need to get money before August 23 since i'm broke... why is manga always so expensive? Sadshoe

I think I'll wait the extra month for the English version. I imported JFA because I really couldn't wait to play it. But this time, an English version really couldn't hurt.

Well, some people are still considering waiting for Godot a little longer...

My inner-Godot fangirl is impatient, such is life. Besides, a Japanese cover wouldn't destroy my collection, because I have already a PAL PW1 and a US PW2...

I'm most likely gonna be buying the version that's going to be released in America because I happen to be unlucky enough to live in America. Yay. Go Bush!!! Woot!

I already have the GBA version (actually seems to be a fan-translation copied onto a blank GBA cartridge), though I'll probably buy the DS version in English in the States. That's the best way to encourage an English version of GS4.

I had this question since the release of the last game, but I'll post it here instead of starting a brand new thread. And my question is, what difference does it make to Capcom if you import it rather than buying it domestically? You'd think they would still make money from the sale regardless.

The difference is that the fact is T&T could sell enough copies to crush a large elephant in Japan, but if it doesn't sell well in America & Europe than Capcom won't see it as worth their while to translate GS4. It's the same deal as if AA hadn't sold well. No matter how much money they made in Japan with GS1, 2 and 3, there would be no chance of JFA being localised, because it would be a waste on money with advertising, the localisation team etc.

Its only ONE MONTH! I thought the wait of 3-4 months for JFA is not that bad, some American's are the most impatient people ever. European countries sometimes have to wait almost a year after the USA gets it (and that is 6 months after the japanese got it).

I live in the UK so I'll be importing from the US, but not from Japan. I'd rather have all my games with English titles.

On that same note; the Japanese game will ship with English dialogue, just like the previous DS rereleases in this series.

He not arguing with anyone. He's stating that the fact that there's only one month in a difference in release date and it's a bit stupid to order it in. Also being in Europe sucks for games.

Yeah, I know, but I did say titles. I'd rather have Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations than Gyakuten Saiban 3. The inconsistency would be annoying.

Yes but my initial post was saying that I wouldn't be either. I was just using my experience with Gyakuten Saiban 2 as a different issue since the time-gap between its Japanese and US releases were far apart enough to warrant an import. This time, they're so close to each other that it doesn't really matter.

I'll probably import it, just for collections sake; I'll still be getting T&T when it comes out.

Besides, that's a month less I have to wait to see sweet, sweet Phoenix 'n pals again.

I would consider importing it from the US, if only for the fact that although it may be a month between the Japanese release and the US release, the European release is likely to be some months after that.

The wait for JFA almost killed me ;_; I almost broke my resolve and imported it from Play-Asia. It's funny, actually, in that because it took so long for it to be translated into German and French and what have you, I almost completely forgot when the release date was =D (I only realised when I saw it in the store and had a nerdgasm)

I'm not doing it ether. I only Imported the 2nd one cause of the preorder bonus from Play Asia cause it will give me a reason to actually buy a ds lite. Till they cancel the preorder bonus and I still got it for the heck of it. Since there nothing coming with the 3rd one there no reason for me to get it.

Of course, on Wikipedia, it DOES say Sept. 4, but it also says it on Gamespot.

So yes, It's around Sept. 1-4, don't worry. :godot:

I've already preordered the US version at Gamestop.
Sadly, I'm going back to school in the fall when it's released (f**k).

Can't buy imported online yet and don't know anyone who has GS3 for sale.

I'm pretty sure it's because they're the smallest gaming market out of the major three (Japan, US, Europe), but I could be wrong.

I'll be importing. I like the Japanese booklets, and I only own the Japanese releases anyways.

Trying to be consistent. I'm sure this will sell well enough like the previous two.

It's because Europe speaks more than one language. The UK release msut come with at least French on it as well. Then, usually, a second version is made in German, Spanish and Italian. There's alot lot translate, which means we get many things late.

Which fails hard. My game boxes are already messed up with US and EU game boxes. Damn things are different!

I live in Hungary, well, that's in Europe and that sucks (Super Paper Mario september 14 WTF?). Fortunately DS has no regional issues.

By the way, there is a great console shop around that imports games from the U.S. :)
That's how I'm gonna get T&T,

Yeah, but there are games that require minimum translation but still will be released almost one year later after the game's US release. This is the case of Megaman ZX and Elite Beat Agents, they just got released here in Europe, almost 9 months later. Compare it to JFA, a heavily teaxt-based game. It was released here three months after its release in US, with French added and so on. I don't believe it's the entire reason.
It think it's the combination of carelessness and the required translations (and for console games; the conversion to PAL video format.) Europe is the smallest market, that's true, but not that small. Nintendo Ds has sold almost 9 millions units here, compared to the 12 millions sold in US and the Americas.
I think the truth is, some game publishers don't care about us enough *cough*PS3*cough*
[/end of rant]

Either way, I preordered GS3. Now that Apollo Justice is confirmed, there's no real need to worry about how good cash T&T will make. Let us focus on buying AA4 instead when it comes out.
