My ultimate OTP of the universe:
Phoenix/Edgeworth.
They ARE perfect for eachother. Not to mention they care so much for the other's well being and there's SUBTEXT. Oh the subtext. It makes me swoon~
Other pairings I enjoy:
Diego/Mia - It's just SO damn tragic and cute... I couldn't help it. ^^;

Seriously, I can't get enough of it. It's more perfect than the von Karmas' cases :) Their conversations are great, and they have a perfect time together. The chemistry between Nick and Maya is fantastic. They also deeply care about each other, as proven many many many times (romantically, too, at least in my opinion... 3-5 completely made it canon for me). Not to mention, when I play I like to identify with Phoenix, and I really like Maya, so it's no surprise I support this pairing. It's like supporting the "me and my girlfriend" pairing lol.
I usually like to stick to canon/semi-canon ones, but there are exceptions. At least this makes sense. They are just very cute together and their personalities perfectly compliment each other.
They are almost as cute as Nick and Maya or Edgey and Franny. Gumshoe really deserves a girlfriend, and Maggey is just perfect for him. They both are so clumsy that it's cute. Also, it's canon.
They are cute, funny and canon too. That's really all I can say.
It's canon, tragic, and again, I have to repeat myself, cute. When we play PW with my sisters and read the text in 3-4 we always say "Mr Armando" and "Kitten" with a very suggestive tone. The perfect lawyer pairing.
Yeah, it's not canon but it makes a whole lot of sense much like Arnold and Helga (I can't believe I mentioned them). Ema needs someone to cheer her up and someone like Klavier is perfect for her, as Klavier needs someone who is more down-to-Earth, like Ema.
I also support Phoenix x Mia and Phoenix x Iris, in the past, but Phoenix x Iris was over after 3-1 and Phoenix x Mia was over after 1-2.

Obviously, I don't think it's impossible.
I'd want to save my friends, too, but that's not the point.
The point is how you react.
Phoenix's reaction when Maya is in danger is how I'd react when my love was in danger.
Edgey's reaction when Phoenix is in danger is how I'd react when my friend was in danger.
I don't say I support Phoenix/Maya just because of 2-4 and 3-5 when Phoenix wanted to (and did) save Maya, there are many many other reasons why I love this pairing.

The key difference, is that Phoenix's level of belief and desperate attempts to save them in regards to Maya and Iris border on irrational, a level they don't reach with Edgeworth. [Though of course, in no way means that Phoenix's mission to save Edgeworth can't also be interpreted romantically.]

The key difference between his reactions to Maya and Edgeworth is that, when Phoenix starts training to become a lawyer, Edgeworth isn't exactly in danger of losing his life, and neither is Nick. That situation was significantly less high-stress than the multiple times Maya is threatened by a killer, and we've seen how reckless Phoenix can be in those circumstances.
It's worth noting that Phoenix believes in Edgeworth absolutely in 1-4, just as he does Maya in 1-2 and 3-5... But he believes in almost EVERY client. I don't think that that's an accurate measurement if you're trying to prove 'love.'

Phoenix and Edgeworth are probably one of my favourite pairings, for a lot of the reasons people mentioned here. It's obvious that Phoenix and Edgeworth really care about each other on a platonic level, at least, and to me it seems feasible that they would eventually start a romantic relationship.
I also really like Digeo/Mia, Larry/Maya, Larry/Franziska (mostly for the lulz), Franziska/Maya, Apollo/Vera, Klavier/Apollo, Klavier/Ema, annnd *dodges bricks* Apollo/Trucy and Gavincest.
