I don't know if GS5 main character is Phoenix Wright or Apollo Justice, but let we think all possibilities. (hope Capcom doesn't make new attorney for GS5

Anyway, for Maya I'd be very happy.
For any others, not so much. I like Iris as a character and liked the Feenie x Iris relationship, but by T&T that is over (for me it is).
But my guess is that there won't be any love scene at all. I mean there are 3 very large groups, Phoenix x Maya shippers, Phoenix x Iris shippers, and Phoenix x Edgeworth (meh) shippers.
By making on of the 3 canon, it would disappoint the other 2 and Capcom doesn't risk that.
Also, GS5 should really be more about Apollo and less about Phoenix. I really really want to see Maya and Pearl in GS5 but only as minor, not central characters.
A little conversation like this should be enough in a case that somehow involves Maya:
Apollo: What, that "kid" sent you another bunch of cartoon DVDs?
Phoenix: Well, she's not really a kid. Only by heart. Isn't it a wonderful thing, keeping your childhood in your heart forever?
Apollo: I guess so. Who is she, if I may ask?
Phoenix: Maya Fey. I could go in detail about her, but let's just say... she is a very special someone to me.
It's not more than all those hints in T&T, and I can even see it happening.

This is exactly how I feel as well. Down to the shipping.
I don't think they'll pair Phoenix with anyone just because of the multiple pairing possibilities, and the disappointment that would occur if they did pair Phoenix with someone. They want to make all the fans happy, so it's probably just best to leave it ambiguous.

However, since we don't even know what capacity Phoenix will appear in [or at all] in GS5, it's unlikely they'll have anything definite or Mia/Diegoesque. Of course, I would personally love a hint....
3-5 took the very obvious policy of keeping all shipping options open, which was an intelligent and totally justifiable decision. Of course, we don't know what policy the writers now take with the new arc. Though it's probably in their best interests to retain the 3-5 policy. Really, they should just throw out a few hints which could be interpreted as P/M, P/E etc... [Which would also help to offset their 'disappearance' in game 4.]
Now, people mention there was some kind of official proclamation P/E would never happen. When was this?
BTW, if they make Phoenix end up with Thalassa in some cheesy forced stupidity I will... uh I'd better not say.
Iris was heavily implied in 3-5 as over.
So, they should just have Phoenix move to Kurain with Maya, where he practices a legal consulting firm with Edgeworth [it's the future, so they can telecommute and stuff] and Iris can visit [since she is, after all, Pearl's sister.] People can ship who they want. One of the biggest problems with GS4 is that the triumvirate of Phoenix pairings had all suspiciously vanished ;_;

Maya seems more like Nicks little sister, Iris is too sickly sweet and it's too far in his past, and I aint a fan of yaoi pairings. (Sorry Edgey).

If GS5 is about , maybe it's the time for Capcom to advancing Wright's side story. (maybe....)many games similiar to GS had point their main character's pair. hopefully this game would able to satisfy their fan with great story that not disappoint any shippers

But seriously though, A lot of people see Maya as Nicks proto-sister rather than his lover. So if that went canon, there'd be probems. Same with the slash pairing. So yeah, they won't pair him with anyone.
But that doesn't mean I cant consider Thalassa to be a better match for him. If you all weren't so set in your ways you could at least seriously consider the idea; it has been 7 long years for him and all that. :)

Honestly, I feel that they will never pair him with anyone for the above stated reasons. You'll lose your fanbase, and they certainly know who's shipping who with each other.

Mainly because she was dead (mostly, anyway) and therefore didn't get much time for a backstory... that, and I bet they weren't planning to anyway, at least until they started working on GS3...

If Franziska's the same "wild mare" she was in the previous games, then I think she should be single, dateless, and completely fine with it. Her personality doesn't strike me as that of someone who's interested in love.
I don't know what will happen between Gumshoe and Maggey. Maybe they'll fall in love and get married, maybe they'll never really get together, maybe they'll fall in love and eventually break up... I don't know, and any result is fine with me, though I'd certainly like to see them together.
I imagine that by the time Miles is in his thirties, he would have gotten married; he's calmed down considerably from the time of his first appearance, and I think it likely he would have found the right person to spend his life with by the time Apollo Justice takes place. Given the way the games have portrayed my favorite character, I would introduce a new character to be Mrs. Edgeworth were it my choice. Even though I like the idea of Miles and Lana dating, it strikes me as extremely unlikely. However, I definitely think that he should have a wedding ring on his finger if he appears in the next game.

Anyway, to be honest I wouldn't ever want to see it happen in canon anyway. The AA series hasn't been all that great about showing a relationship as it's building. Ron/Dessie are already together when you meet them; Gumshoe/Maggey went right from the crush phase into a fight and was never fully resolved; Phoenix fell in love with Dahlia at first sight and acted like an idiot, never truly getting to know her. And of course Diego/Mia

I think if they put Phoenix in a relationship in GS5 it might just feel kinda shoehorned in. If the game's from Apollo's point of view we wouldn't get to see anything really personal between Phoenix and a love interest (unless he becomes a spy!), so most likely it would be a "Oh, by the way, we're a couple!" kind of moment. And with love stories, if they don't have the time to really develop one, I'd rather not see it at all.

You're not the only one. If Capcom can work past the seven-year gap and still make such a relationship make sense, then I am in full support of such a relationship occurring. My only concern is that Capcom has essentially worked themselves into a corner by having Apollo Justice take place seven years after Trials and Tribulations with Phoenix still single and seemingly dateless. Working around that will be a challenge--though harder things have been pulled off, so it's not impossible.
