Ty's cane landed in the nitrogen. He just stood there looking at it for a while. Then he walked over. Very casually at that. He looked around and noticed a pair of grabbers. He picked them up and stuck them into the barrel. He managed to retrieve his cane, frozen solid. Now his cigar was still burning so he used a small manipulation spell and melted the ice. The diamond on the top of the cane was fine. But the wood was ruined. Ty still had a straight face. "Nothing a little pinesol wont fix up." He finally said.

BOOM! The elevator explodes, and dozens of head crabs come pouring in. "Shit, now we're in trouble." I say, pulling out my revolver and firing. "Ty, get out of the way!" I shout, as I throw a barrel of Liquid Nitrogen towards the crabs.

They can handle this, I suppose. Nothing to do but to sit and watch. Don't have a gun, and don't expect Nicholas there to hand me one unless I ASK.

"Good luck, Nicholas. I can't do much, so I'll look for exits." Valox waved, then started examining the air vents. This one can't even fit a kid ..., wait, do I hear something? *SCUTTLE SCUTTLE SCUTTLE*

The air vent opened up to reveal at least 3 head crabs, one which lunged at Valox and barely missed, hitting a computer screen and sliding towards the keyboard/input screen. "Officially surrounded. Crud."

Now to break protocol, or to act helpless? ..... Breaking sounds like a nice idea, haven't had a scuffle in a little while, but what can daggers do against things that small? And I hope I can trust the three of them. The longer you stay near someone, the less likely they are to betray you.... Dammit! I already LIKE them! And its been like 2 hours?

Valox then took off, running back towards Ty, Nicholas and Charna. "Bad news, they're through the vents. And may I ask something?"

Ty pulled and fired his revolver. It made a "ka-chink" noise. He forgot it was empty, and he didnt have anymore rounds. "DAMN, DAMN, DAMN (I got that from Good Times)" he said. "I NEED AMMO!" he yelled, just as a headcrab lunged torwards him. He used the fire spell to form a flamethrower and push the headcrab away. He used a higher power fire control spell to take out alot more of the headcrabs. Ty continued attacking until the magic started to take a toll on his energy. There were too many.

Ty waited for Valox's question.

"Do you expect me to help out around here?" the kid asked.

Looks like they seriously need help, but then...

Another head crab lunged at Valox, missing again and hitting a wall. "Not so good, we're outnumbered... And running away is not going to be easy."

Dagger time? Or gun time? Depends on whether they have more.

"Oh, you guys panic so much..." Charna picked up some of the dead head crab bodies, examining them, before whispering a chant. They sprung to life, and invaded the vents, where they fought aganst the other headcrabs.

Ty used some fire to push himself off the ground. He landed behind a desk and found a lot of boxes of bullets. ".45 special Ammo! Just what I need." He loaded his revolvers and started firing. He also noticed Valox dodging a headcrab. "VALOX! HEADS UP!" Ty yelled, throwing one of his guns to him.

Suddenly, Ty heard Walt calling everyone to get behind him. Using the fire again, he jumped back to where everyone else was and got behind Walt, still firing his gun.

"Ah yes, loaded and ready to go!" smiled the kid. "Been a long time since I handled one of these."

He fired, hitting a head crab directly in between its front legs, kicked it up into the air, and fired up. "What a mess..." he mumbled, jumping next to Ty, continuously firing at the remaining head crabs.

If they ask anything, just ignore them. Works all the time.

((Alright. I can make that happen, if that's alright with everyone else.)) Walt checked to make sure everyone was either behind him or behind some cover. Then, he touched a crab and pushed it to the other ones. "Everybody steer clear!" he yelled, grabbing Nicholas and jumping. The crab exploded behind them, killing whichever other crabs were near.

"Another explosion!" the boy jumped up with Walt, shooting the lone head crab near the elevator which was fleeing.

"Mission accomplished." Did I just say that? Never mind. "Charna, are the vents clear? I would hate to have a head crab land right on my face." Or anything else for the matter.

[I don't know how someone will put Nicholas in a coma, but do it. I have somewhat of a separate side plot to do with my OC. What about it?]

Walt looked back to see what happened. There were lots of dead crabs, but there were still plenty more. Walt noticed Nicholas was knocked out on the ground behind him. That was what it looked like, at least. He pulled out a gun and starting firing at any crabs that came near.

Rid them all? Kind of costly. Use what we have.

Valox closed his eyes, and snapped his finger. Immediately, all the live head crabs seemed disoriented, scuttling about without obvious guidance.

"We shouldn't get out of here through the vents. There's more to where that came from," shouted the boy, sweating rolling down his forehead and clenching his teeth.

I'd hate to reveal more. They know too much. Foolish me and my mouth. And that kid may be here too. Naturally stupid of him. I'd hope one of the head crabs takes his perverted justice with his head, or I'll do it myself.

[WHEE! We're back on the road! Ty, actually, I think I said the vents that were accessible by my character couldn't even fit him. (Page 3) There's a vent on the ceiling that can fit crawling people, but I may use that for something a bit interesting :sawit:

Should be a ladder around here. Hold on, I'm gonna introduce someone to be used. *hehe* Two characters make interesting interactions when during boring times. Roleplay stuff I learned from the pros.]

Looks: Orange hair, green eyes. He wears a blue suit that is simple enough for civilian use and slim enough for covert use. His belt holds his pistol and sword, which can be seen normally. He conceals his dagger like people conceal money in a money belt. (If you get my drift)

I wake up, and look up. I'm in Walt's arms. I roll off them as quickly as possible, then get up, staightening my trenchcoat and dusting my self off. Then I look around. My jaw drops, as do my sunglassess. I quickly put them back on.
"My lab... MY F*****G LAB!!!!" I roar, as I see the destruction the headcrabs caused.
(Yeah, the coma bit is kind of unnessesary, I'm back)

Meanwhile... above the laboratory and the group, but not very much higher...

Racloon:

Argh, stupid vent! Might as well have entered the normal way! I don't even know how to get out from here... But maybe I'll shoot him this time. For justice.. Pausing for a moment, Racloon crawled towards the vent opening above the laboratory and stretched out a hand. Slowly and cautiously, he pushed it open, barely audible.

Alright, clear view. "Scuttle!" Racloon tried to turn around, but with the space available, he simply banged onto the side of the ventilation shaft. "S**t, crab!?!" he yelled, and tried to move forward, away from whatever it was, down right into the laboratory, missing Nicholas by an inch. A head crab was attached to his leg, doing to it what dogs to. "Get it off me!!"

Valox:

*THUNK!* "Huh?!" he spun around and saw Racloon on the floor, in pain from the fall and in fear from the crab. Oh crap. Oh crap. PERFECT ****ING TIMING. Whipping out his gun, he aimed at Racloon (though not too obvious), but did not fire.

Dilemma time. If I kill, they'll think I'm a cold killer. And Fox wouldn't want me to do it. If I don't kill, he'll just tell them. Ah, screw it. Lie time! "Oh no! HE WANTS US DEAD!!" Valox dropped the gun and started pointing at Racloon. Let Nicholas, Charna or Tyray disable him somehow. I don't need to do it, but he shouldn't die. He's not prepared for it.

((Neat story going on! I wish to join in and give it a go myself, if you all don't mind too much.))

Age: ??? (Younger than 25, older then 18)
Powers: Very limited-range psychokinesis, limited Illusions, limited barrier.
Weapons: Fists, 8 face-sized oriental mirrors (7 round shaped, one diamond shaped, all backed with a hard bronze-alloy)
Appearance: Tired, raggedy, pale, with dark messy hair, and a cheerful disposition. He usually has an ocean-green trench coat on, and always wears a small pin, on the coat's left ~~lapel~~(EDIT) collar, in the shape of the Greek letter 'Ω' with a 'W' overlaying it. The coat has been custom-sewn to have "belts" run through the inside-back to hold his mirrors in place like holsters.
Group: Civilian?
Personality: Much to his dismay, the man who goes by the pseudonym "Hubris" has no memories of his past before the world was in ruin. The earliest thing he can remember is waking up in the middle of nowhere with a nasty headache and a concussion. Even in such a bleak world, the amnesiac still manages to act cheerful, and finds the desolation oddly peaceful, probably (he figures) as it is all he can remember.

He said openly to nobody."But the nearest town is in the other direction... and it doesn't look like there is anything to hide behind out there, so where is that noise coming from?" With that last comment, he began to shamble towards the source of the sound, a gentle clinking sound heard with each step he took.

He began to whistle.

Racloon moaned, clawing helplessly at the floor. "The pain... the pain... Help..." He was a man that wasn't used to taking pain. In fact, he looked as if he was dying. Valox, with a sigh, faded away. "If he says a word about me," Valox muttered under his breath, taking out a dagger and dipping it into a strange liquid in a jar, he muttered again,"Stilltongue will end his speech." This is such a lose-lose situation. I hate this.

Walt heard a whistling sound, but was too focused on the "dying" man to think anything of it. "Okay," Walt said. He cast a lvl. 3 cure spell on Racloon, since it was all that was necessary to completely cure him. "Now, pray tell, who are you and why are you here?"

Hubris kept on walking forward, whistling a favorite tune. If he had a reason, it could have been strategic to attract the noise maker, but in all seriousness, he was killing time as he walked around the desert, unknowing that he was standing just above a hidden elevator.

Suddenly, he heard noise again. Very faint, but still something audible besides the wind and his own clatter. He stopped and closed his eyes to listen for more sounds.

Racloon got up, patting off some dust from his pants and looked around. Valox wasn't in sight. He disappeared AGAIN? With a sigh, he took a quick look at Walt, then said, "Racloon. Did you see a ruthless and arrogant kid called Valox?"

Oh ****. Valox positioned himself behind Racloon, near enough to strike and far enough not to get hit by any sudden movements. He was poised to strike the moment Racloon told them anymore.

"Yeah, I met someone named Valox," Walt replied, looking around for a minute to see where he was. He saw Valox behind Racloon, looking like he was ready to strike. Walt knew there was only one way in which he could do something to stop Valox from whatever he was going to do without hurting Racloon, so he quickly assessed how strong Valox was and pointed his staff at Racloon. "But what does that have to do with anything?" He cast a level 5 shield around Racloon wide enough to knock Valox back and pointed his staff at Valox. "Don't move!" He ordered more aggressively than he ever had.

"DO NOT INTERFERE! He wants me dead!" he yelled back with a scowl, his hand tightening on his dagger. DAMN! Now WHAT do I do? The shield is a pain, but since it should be a sphere, Walt couldn't have made the shield cover his feet since the floor was in the way..

"You killed my father!" Racloon retorted, drawing out his sword and charged at Valox. He leaped at the kid, who had rushed exactly below Racloon, and with an upward thrust, successfully stabbed him in his right foot. With a cry of pain, he sprawled onto the ground, blood seeping from under his foot.

"So anyway, Walt. What are you going to do?" sneered Valox, taking out his second dagger.

[Pssst, Valox was invisible, but ah, never mind.]

((Oh...Woops.)) Walt didn't want anyone to die, so he had to think fast. How could he defend Racloon and Valox at the same time? He could either hurt them both enough that they can no longer fight, or he could cast a shield around both of them at the same time. He couldn't expel enough energy to adequately defend both of them, ad even if he cast a shield around them, they'd attack eachother's feet, but he didn't want to hurt anyone. So, he cast a barrier between the two of them. If either of them tried to go around, they'd be in for a shock! "What's going on between you guys?" Walt asked, glancing between Valox and Racloon.

At this point, he had sat down cross legged right on the dirt, hands on knees, and was listening intently for more sounds.
Hubris took a quick glance around first to see if he could spot where the noise was originating from or if there were any monsters coming. Neither were present. The land was pretty flat all around, so nothing could hide easily,making this a real conundrum.

"Gah! What is it?!" he muttered, slamming the ground with a fist. "Am I going crazy again...? Realization is the first step to recovery, heh..."

"Grrr...." scowled Valox, who calmed down after a few seconds. Calmly, but arrogantly, he said, "The fool tried to kill me 40 times. Every time, he failed. 41 is not the charm." After speaking, he took out another jar, labelled 'WF', and started to dip both of his daggers into it.

Meanwhile, Racloon was still flat on the ground, whimpering in pain from a stab wound.

His fist hit the dirt, and a second later, he thought he heard a sound in response. Like a deep resonation or a drum, barely audible.

It was so unexpected that it made Hubris jump and lose the concentration he had mustered up trying to locate the prior noises.
Without a word, he began to strain his ears again, and started to hit the ground, first once, every so often, then in patterns ((Shave and a Haircut, etc.)), each time he thought he heard something, he strained his ears harder, began to hit the ground harder, and lean in further until he was head to the ground pounding a steady rhythm.

With a struggle, Racloon got up, taking out a pistol and firing it at Valox, bouncing off the shield. "GAH! Why won't he die!?!" He screamed, falling onto his knees.

"Because you're an incompetent fool that can't even kill me!"

"You deserve to die!"

"So did your father!"

"Don't you dare mention him!"

"Oh yeah?" smiled Valox, slowly fading away. In his place, was an orange-haired man, in his late thirties. His eyes were heterochromic, the left one having a green color and the right one was blue. Smiling in a fashion that made adults uneasy, he spoke with a grand and superior voice uncharacteristic of Valox, saying, "Racloon. You can't even kill someone younger than you. If I was still alive, I would have finished him off a long time ago."

"BUT YOU DIED! To HIM!" Racloon yelled in between sobs. Dammit! I hate him! He keeps doing this! Why abuse me using my father!?!

"He played a trick. You didn't." Turning to Walt, the man said, "Turn off the barrier. He needs to meet his father in the afterlife."

"Your little transformation into a dead guy will not make me change my mind," Walt said. Though it is pretty cool. "Turn back into Valox and stop torturing the boy." This is so awkward...Why can't things be normal? "I understand why this boy wants to kill you, but why did you kill his father? I will not put down this barrier until I know for sure you won't kill eachother."

"O.K, that is IT!" I yell. "Since I met the lot of you, I've had my lab destroyed, about five people in it including a murderous psychopath and my whole life's work wrecked! Get the hell out! All of you!" I walk over to the lift and flick the switch that brings it down. Another person is on it.
