As you may have noticed, some new buttons have popped up around the site.

ImageImageImage

In order to make it easier to navigate between the PW and AJ sections (and the soon to arrive GK sections) I've peppered the pages with these handy buttons: Blue Phoenix for the first 3 games, Red Apollo for AA4, and Magenta Edgeworth for the new prosecutor game. Most of the Edgeworth buttons aren't linked anywhere yet, but I am preparing the pages ahead of time so that the moment new info comes in, it'll have a place to go and links to get you there.

Between now and the concert (September 23rd!) I'm going to be combing through the sections to tie up some loose ends, add missing sprites and graphics, and all around make sure everything is in tip top shape. I'm also getting ready to add a new section that I know a lot of you have been looking forward to, so keep an eye out!

Fall of 08 is going to be an exciting time for AA fans!

While you're going around and fixing up the site, may I recommend double checking your "random sprite" thingie?

Because right now it's displaying a Gumshoe animation that is apparently a 3-4 spoiler (according to the media section). With this in mind, someone else might see a spoiler sprite and potentially get spoiled about something. Just so you know. >.>

Also, you should reconsider the coding you use to make these updates pretty in the forums, because on the website's main page I see broken scripting. (i'm using Firefox3 for Windows)

It's not really a spoiler since he's just wearing a different colored coat. I don't think it hurts anything.

I'll fix the update~

I'm aware of that. :yogi: The point of my post is what would happen if OTHER (actual) spoiler sprites appeared (such as :chinami:, who has some very spoileriffic sprites)?

Twas only a suggestion anyway, so if it doesn't matter just please ignore me. :payne:

The sprites used on the site properly and the sprites that go into the random spoiler are already separated into two different folders, with the spoilers weeded out in the second. I just didn't bother to take out things that were separate outfits or recolors, like Gumshoe's tan coat, Adrian in black, Grossberg in red, etc. Most of the AJ sprites aren't in there either because they haven't been re-timed yet.

So spoilers shouldn't be a problem~ There was one that slipped through when we launched, but I got her >.>

The Apollo Juictice page does have the purdy buttons. And that's pretty vital. Y'know. For people that are comparing PW to AJ. Like not me. :yogi:

The AJ charecters page doesn't have buttons.

And some/all of the charecter pages in Apollo Justice are messed up.

I'm on Safari on a Mac BTW in case that affects bugs I see.

Also, on character profile pages the Forum button doesn't work.

It doesn't even spell Forum, it spells ">Forum

The character profile pages need some work.

umm - i figured out why... for some reason the CSS <link> tag that adds the CSS has been added... half-way through the link's href (or where it links to) bit. so it completely messes up browsers that follow web standards. unlike IE, which ignores it and moves on. alternatively, you're looking at the wrong page.

I tried it on the Mac version of Firefox and it still happened, though I don't use Firefox much anymore so it may not be updated.

EDIT: I just downloaded some updates from Apple, it still happens in Safari and Firefox, though I doubt getting updates from Apple updated Firefox.

Apollo's profile looks fine in Safari though, I don't think I've checked that one in Firefox. So some might be okay.

What OS(s) and Browser(s) are you using Croik?

These buttons are cool Croik. Did you just do some recolors on their sprites?

I tried to clean up Edgeworth's art once, and by accident I created a silhouette of him. I added some color, and I think it came out halfway decent (I still have a lot to learn about using Photoshop). I only mention it because your buttons reminded me of it.

As long as you give me credit for the manipulation, "borrow" away.

I checked all characters pages with firefox and made a list. The problem of the name displaying on the character pages like Superninfreak has posted exists on all the following pages:
Spoiler: save room

And a few other characters which have the same problem: Kristoph, Hobohodo,Pearl, Franny,Wellington, Ema(young)

Two "special" characters here:
Image
Mia's Japanese name is supposed to be 綾里千尋 rather than里千尋
Yanni's Japanese name doesn't show up at all...(I'm not sure if it due to the spoiler though)

Wish it will help. :edgy:

I'm using IE7. But I'll.... do some fiddling B:

Yup. Resized, converted to black and white, color burn. I loves Photoshop <3

EDIT: I think I fixed it on This page. There's a gap between the name and the Japanese now, but it's readable, right?

The problem with IE is that Microsoft don't program it to follow international web standards - they program it to do its own thing, meaning if it works in IE it probably doesn't in anything else and vice-versa. In the end, IE causes havoc for anyone trying to make their website as usable as possible. :(

On a related note, I've said it many times and it seems to have gone unnoticed:

From this topic:
Quote:
Two important points - the new layout continues to feature redundant code at the moment for the font - I see Times New Roman on my computer when the site loads because the font specified in the code no longer exists in Windows XP - it was renamed in that version of the OS to Palatino Linotype. All references to Book Antiqua should be Find/Replaced out ASAP, because frankly I'd like to view the site the way it was intended to be seen, thanks. ;)

The other point is that the new navbar is different on the main page than on other pages, and this is a counter-intuitive. It would be nice if the navbar was changed one way or the other to be more uniform. (I prefer the navbar layout on the main page, personally.) Perhaps changing it into a navbar mask frame would be more helpful, but I doubt that solution is optimal.

(Since I wrote this, I have discovered that you can still get the older Book Antiqua font installed on Win XP and later, but only if you install Microsoft Office. :/ )

Spoiler: Images as Proof
Image
(Taken from the index page.)

Image
(As you can see, the wrong font is displayed.)

Thanks, Croik. ^^
Does we even do these things anymore?

That page looks fine. I would suggest using some other browsers (or at least Firefox) to test if it works.

Spoiler: Picture of how that page looks

I have IE, Firefox, and Opera, but usually I just use IE. When Wooster first sent me the character page code it seemed to work fine, but I must have muddled something when I filled in the actual info. They all seem to work in IE and FF now.

I know IE and FF will never display two pages exactly the same, but as long as they're both decent and functional, that's what I'm most concerned with.

Updated the pages so that the navigation bar should now be at the top even in IE. It did something funky to the character pages so let me know if anything else is screwed up... I'm going to be going around the site again to be sure.
