Wonderful story. AT&T physically hasn't installed DSL lines on my street. So that's not an option. Calling AT&T just says that my area is 'in planning'. The next option is Satellite internet, but that's slightly expensive. Honestly, the real turn off was that while satellite has amazing top speeds, the time it takes to send a message to the server and back is significantly greater then on DSL and Cable. It's not noticeable if you're just browsing the web. But with twitchy games like Smash Bros, that's not really desirable. The next wonderful item is Cable interent, and Cable internet really shows how capitalism works. Cable internet is insanely over priced. It's only worth your time looking at if you also buy their phone and TV service as well. But for this particular distributer, Cable TV doesn't get you ANY good channels until you buy their second or most expensive packages. So now Cable internet is still over priced, and you're paying over priced television at the same time.
