Kind of old news (April 2008), but apparently Dreamworks and Steven Spielberg have acquired the rights to make a GitS 3D live-action movie.

Steven's last movie was, in my opinion, better than average, but not really amazing. Do you think he ~~is a bad enough dude to rescue the President~~ has what it takes to do this the right way?

I don't know whether I should feel excited or disappointed. i know how much a hash up big directors make to awesome games, books etc. so I am quite worried about GitS being made live action. It'll be interesting to see who they cast as The Major though :will:

well it is 3d live action. So mostly it be the same VA. Though it saids live action making it sound like it will have actors doing stuff and the 3d make it sound like you need glasses. So I don't know If it 3d 3d or 3d vision.

To me it sounded like it was going to be live action characters, and a LOT of CGI.

meh, i honestly was not impressed with gits. "live-action" 3d movies always suck, though, so i'm not going to hold my breath on this one.
