Apocalypse saw something completely different. He just saw Lightningbolt's corpse, yet Lightningbolt was charging at him. Nightmare hoped her illusion would be enough to stop him from exploding as she found the part of his brain which would allow her to knock him out without hurting him. She prayed that they wouldn't be attacked as she made Apocalypse fall asleep, but kept the illusion going.

Tsunami made a water shield around Ty and Zero. None of the electricity touched them, but the shield got noticeably weaker as the electricity coursed around the shield and into the desert sand.

Verite didn't have time to cry over Lightning's death. Instead, she held in her tears and shot fire streams at the lightning. The explosion was large and created a small dust cloud. Verite looked past the dust cloud and then said quietly, "Ty, get these girls to the ship. I'll hold these guys off."

The girls were drained from that long fight with Aletheia. She couldn't risk there involvement.

The gates of the city opened as Aletheia dragged herself to a nearby building. "Damn... those kids made me lose my temper... I've got to stop doing that..." She fell into a coma-like state, until the night came again.

The water shield was a blessing, but he had to help, too.
"Ship...? Ah, that one!" Ty said casually, only just noticing the aircraft. Scooping up the shovel and sack and dropping them back into his backpack, he shouted, "ALRIGHT LADIES! TO THE SHIP! Move, move, move, move, move!!!"

He quickly made his way to Zero first, offering her his hand to pull her up, then to Tsunami, all the while ushering them on with a repeated mantra of: "Movemovemovemovemovemovemove..."

"Let's hope they can handle this. That one guy looked like he was about to blow his top over something...

Zero ran through the sand and they eventually made it to the airship.
She sat in a seat and hugged her knees to herself as she stared out a window. What a night....

All in less than 24 hours, Zero had stepped out of the hideout for the first time, struggled through her first fight, and found their leader dead. This time had broken something within her as well. She was usually so quiet and reserved... but fighting had made her like a completely different person.

I hope that Verite will be all right...

She fought to keep her eyes open, but her profound exhaustion finally got to her and she fell asleep in the leather seat.

Verite saw the airship lift off. It was an assuring site. She looked at the trio of enemies. "I probably won't last long against them all... but I'll have to try." She shot foward, pelting blast after blast of highly infernal flames at them.

Ty was panting. Not from the run, but from the fact that up until he noticed an autopilot button, he through there was no way in hell that that craft would get off the ground if he were to try and pilot it.

The good news was that he and the two girls, Tsunami and Zero, were safe, as well as the fact that he didn't have to reveal the nature of his powers, much less HAVE powers.

He took a look to the back of the cabin and saw the others there, one sleeping.
"...I'm... sorry..." he muttered.

Tsunami was clearly shaken. It was her first real battle, and she was the main target throughout the whole thing. If she made one slip-up, she would've been...Like Lightningbolt. She shivered. Then, she noticed Zero was asleep. She wished she could sleep, too, but every time she closed her eyes, she saw images of death and destruction. Maybe talking to someone would help. She found Ty.
"Um...Hi," Tsunami said. "How's it going?"

Ty was still sitting in the cockpit, watching as the computer controlled their destination.
"It's as if they had this whole thing planned out for escape..." he thought to himself, only to be brought back to his senses when somebody spoke to him.

He turned to see a girl in all blue, with blonde hair, who wasn't that far from his age. ((I assume. Ty isn't any older than 19, no younger than 17, (doesn't matter exactly) but anyways...))
"Er, hi," He replied back. "You are... Tsunami right? How are you doing so far, you seem a little shook-up." Ty was trying hard to sound compasionate, considering the circumstances. He personally felt he was doing sub-par, but couldn't blame himself for not trying.

"Well, yeah, I sorta am... I never knew my dad, and my mama was all I had. During the great calamity, I must've become separated from her... It's been awhile though, and I can't remember much from then, like what happened, or even what she looked like. All I've got to remember her is her voice."

A red-light went off in Ty's head, and he realized what he had said. He casually changed the subject.

"So, you are only 12, huh? It's amazing you and your friends have such supernatural powers. You said your team was called the 'Protectors', right? What is it you guys do?"

Tsunami knew he was lying earlier when he asked about what he said, but she didn't think that was a big deal. At least he's telling the truth now, she thought. "We Protectors do whatever we can to protect innocent lives. It's a lot harder than it should be...And amazing? ...I guess it would appear that way to someone who doesn't have any powers, but the powers themselves are not so amazing when you have to train for three hours to stream water. A whole day to change the flow of a river. It's the satisfaction you get when you save people that's amazing."

Ty had turned away from the window, so he had no idea where their ship was bound, not that he ever knew to begin with.

"The satisfaction of saving people... If she really thinks that as great as she seems to find it..."
"I have to say, for somebody so young, you seem very mature... the exact opposite to me, who is old and childish." He joked.
Laughter had a therapeutic, contagious effect, and he could tell that they needed a good laugh.

Verite stoped short and heated the air around her to a volcanic level. The electricity stopped short, as the air was way too hot and dense to travel properly. "You're not a bright person are you..." She had to what for the right moment. If she made a mistake, it was game-over.

Apocalypse stopped.
"It was them..." He pointed, and rose up into the air, amplifying his voice.
"O.K, HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS. FIRST, I'M GONNA KILL TSUNAMI. THEN ZERO. THEN THAT WEIRDO DOWN THERE..." The list continued. Apocalypse finally stopped and landed in front of the Protectors. "Bye bye!"

"Crap!" She blasted into the air, ignoring the two behind her, and ramed into Apocalypse.

Okay... Now would be a good time to do it...

She shot forward, still pushing Apocaplypse into the sand. "Bye Bye" She mimicked. The heat intensified until she literally was covered in fire. An expolsion occured, resulting in a blast that was similar to a star's supernova. Verite flew from the explosion and landed hard on the Protector's ship. She passed out immediately afterwards.

A crash snapped Zero into conciousness. She looked outside her window.

"...Verite?!"

Zero immediately ran to the nearest emergency hatch and opened it. She held onto the door as the air rushed quickly past her. Verite was slipping from the wing she had collided with. She had never moved people before, but now she had to try. She struggled to clear her head as the wind rattled it and her blue hair whipped around her face.

"Come on..."

Slowly, the way Verite slid was reversed towards the door. Zero tightened her grip on the door and strained. She wasn't exactly levitating, but she was coming faster. She outstreched her hand. Soon she was close enough to grab the back of her shirt. Using her power to aid her feeble muscles, Zero dragged the adult through the door and slammed it.

Verite was alive and breathing, but she looked pale and weak and was covered in ash.

"What's going on back there!?" Ty shouted, turning around and jumping out of the pilot's chair. Again, he thanked that guy, Lightningbolt, for setting all this up, especially the autopilot.

"What was... whoa. That's... actually, I never learned her name. We should get her to a chair, anyways." Ty said, indicating to their new passenger. He then noticed Zero. "Oh! Are you alright? You look a little tired..."

Zero helped Ty and Tsunami place Verite's unconcious body on a seat. She turned to Ty when she heard his question.

"Yes, I'm still... very tired. Saving Verite has drained me even more. I think I'll go back to sleep. Please wake me up when Verite regains conciousness."

Zero walked heavily back to her chair.

Tsunami was pale. She worried about Verite. If only she didn't leave her behind...

Nightmare was frustrated with herself. Her illusion wasn't powerful enough for Apocalypse to truly believe HE killed Lightningbolt. And now an explosion happened. She didn't know where he or Finn went, but she decided she had to look and find them.

((The idea was, when Nightmare said she looked to find Finn, Apocalypse had already left. Having helped design the airship, he would have known how to get on board, and he can fly pretty damn fast. Do continue))

"Ugh..." Tsunami fell. The fire blast was strong. She tried to get up, but the resulting burn on her chest was enough that she couldn't get up. Quickly, she put her hand over her chest, covering it with water first. She didn't know how it would help, but her burn healed almost instantly. She couldn't let Apocalypse do anything else to anyone. While she healed, she yelled, "YOU get real!" and surrounded him in a water shield, drowning him and making sure none of his attacks would hit anyone at the same time. The shield grew stronger as she healed.

Nightmare wasn't even panting. "Where is Apocalypse now?" she asked Finn. "Are you sure he doesn't need help from either of us?"

Apocalypse disappeared under the water, then reappeared.
"Oh come now, Tsunami. I thought you were the clever one." He grinned. "I don't like fighting all of you at once, so let's do this nicely. One at a time." He gathered up a ball of fire, imbued with slow releasing pure oxygen and a hint of poisonous gas. "You always were fierce." He said, before releasing the ball towards Tsunami's head. "I wouldn't advise dodging, this ship took forever to build."

Tsunami wouldn't let that get the better of her. She knew better than to dodge, not for the ship's sake, but for her comrades. She didn't have to last long, just long enough. She froze the ball and threw it back at Apocalypse. Her ice wasn't strong enough to stay there, and melted shortly after she redirected the ball, but the poisonous gas that he himself released with the ball of fire would, hopefully, poison him as she knew the fire wouldn't even hurt him.

This whole time, Ty had been sitting in the pilot's seat, calmly, quietly, switching the music he was listening to, trying to decide what to listen to, with one earbud out in his hand.

"Hard rock, super strength... quick paced, super speed... I could always help from afar with telekinetic, again... hm, I'm still not completely recovered from last time, but as long as I can attack from afar," He turned on another driving rock piece, and felt his psychic capabilities return. "Just can't speak, or else 'thou' will mess this up."

He sat in the front, head turned slightly so that he could see what was going on behind him, and to intervene should he need to.

"Ha ha ha." He said, and lept foward, grabbing Tsunami. "I must take leave...with this pretty thing!" He said, as he vanished, taking Tsunami with him.

Tsunami screamed as she suddenly couldn't see Ty, Zero, or Verite. They may not have helped her fight, but knowing that she wouldn't have to do everything by herself if she lasted long enough was something that pushed Zero to go by the moment. Now, she was alone for the first time since she joined the Protectors, and she had to fight a man who nobody else could beat before.

He broke his concentration, and the powers he gained by the music stopped.
"They... vanished!?" Ty thought, repeating what he saw in his head as if to try to comprehend what happened.

"Tsunami!" He yelled, leaping out of the seat and dashing to the hatch outside. He swung the door open, and held fast in the doorway as the winds tried to pull. "I can't let anybody else get sacked, but--"

"...where did they go?"

He can remember his past battles, how bad guys always acted along the same or similar paths, how gun-totting madmen used terror. Of course, this was neither your regular sicko nor one who needed a gun... but if history taught him anything...

"Zero, can check for anybody else from that guy's group? He may be able to teleport, but his allies might not... like that person we battled in the ice maze, for instance." He said, the odd commanding quality returning to his voice. "Also, what do we know about him? He may have a hideout or rendezvous point nearby... which would be the first place he would return to before bolting again!"

Ty ran to the controls of the ship and looked around hurriedly, almost in panicked. "How do I fly this thing...?"

"I don't really know about Apocalypse's allies... but I think Verite knows who that Aletheia woman is. We'll ask her when she regains conciousness. In order to find the people he was with, we'll have to fly in the opposite direction, back where he came from. I might be able to find them if they aren't long gone already. Do you think you can drive the ship?"

"Fuck, Sam, don't do that to me!" He yelled.
"It is of no concern of mine, Finn, if you cannot take a little surprise. Now, we have a guest..." He held out Tsunami, who had a glowing chain of energy around her wrists. "Energy handcuffs." He adressed Tsunami. "If you like your hands, I suggest you don't struggle. This," He said, pointing his companions out in turn. "Is Nightmare and Finn." He turned to Nightmare. "I do believe it is time to go into battle. Finn, watch the prisoner." He said, before flying into the air.

"... got it!" Ty exclaimed, finally figuring out how to turn autopilot off. He had to hold the controls and manage for a few second, but the ship generally flew itself.

"Right, we're making a turn, hold tight!" Ty prayed he wouldn't crash them as he made the thing do as tight of a turn as he could and started the ship back towards the city.
"Tell me when you pick something up, Zero. I'll need to readjust the settings for a little bit..." "What I'd do for a owners manual for this thing..."

Inside the Airship
A trapdoor opens, and a woman slips out.
"W-w- what's happening?" She asks. "Did somebody turn the autopilot off?"
This is Shanta, Verite's third sister. While Verite was kept in the dark, she was captured by the Protectors fifteen years ago, kept in cryogenic freezing powered by the autopilot until Ty turned it off. She's powerful, but memoryless... try and stay on her good side.
