I never really thought of the backstory of Apollo working with Kristoph, but if there is more to it, that's an excuse to bring Kristoph back. If they tried to make him the final villain, it would just be too much like Phoenix Wright. But, with those black Psycho Locks and the fact that we never really got to break him down, they really do need to bring him back.O_o

However, I just wonder WHY Gavin. There must be a LOT of firms in LA, but why him? If it's as simple as him applying, and they were first to hire him, they could just say that.

Unless why Polly went into Gavin's office is part of the plot, why would they go into it, at all?
It's not a usual topic conversation between lawyers and their clients, or among themselves (except during the hiring process), so there's really no reason for it to ever come up - unless it connects to the plot.

So Apollo graduates from college and he needs a mentor to help him train for the bar exam. Apollo knows he'll need more experence and just learning it from law books wasn't going to cut it. So to get more in court experence he desided to go to a famous defence attorney (after Phoenix got disembarred.) so he went over to the Gavin and Co. Law Offices. He probably was nervous and akward as usual but then Kristoph notices his Precieve Ability and sees it as a useful weapon in court. So he becomes Apollo's mentor.

1. The people who adopted Apollo knew Kristoph so they referred him to Kristoph after Apollo passed the bar.
2. Kristoph wanted to hire an assistant/possible lawyer that wouldn't upstage him (and find out the forged paged) and hired Apollo.
Insane Theroy 1. Kristoph was the person who adopted Apollo.
Insane Theroy 2. Apollo used his "Chords of Steel" and kept shouting, so Kristoph hired him so he would stop.

This, plus several other mysteries concerning Thalassa Gramarye and related parties confirm in my mind that the Apollo Justice arc is far from over.
I also think that Machi is going to be the Maya Fey of defendants (accused once in each game). There are unanswered questions concerning him too.
