Title: Turnabout Rockstar.
Author: Amy Slater. (Me)
Pairing: None except for very mild Klavier/Ema at the very beginning, and some Phoenix/Maya.
Spoilers: All of AJ.
Status: Not Complete.
Author's notes: I'm sorry if it isn't good (which it isn't). I'm only 12 years old so don't expect much. By the way, this is my first fanfiction.

Long-term Fanfiction.

Turnabout Rockstar


Spoiler: Chapter 1
It was a day the tabloids went crazy all over. Klavier Gavin, rockstar and prosecutor, was killed. He was hit over the head with a guitar that was sitting near his favourite chair and then shot in the chest with a pistol that was evidence in a trial that he had won a few days before he was killed.

He was found dead the next morning by his girlfriend, Detective Ema Skye, who had gone up to take him his morning coffee. As soon as she found the victim’s body in a pool of blood, she let out a scream that echoed around the Prosecutor’s Office, and then she fainted dead on the floor. Later, two of their friends, Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth and Detective Dick Gumshoe ran upstairs after hearing the scream.

They reported that they found Phoenix Wright, piano and professional poker player, unconscious behind the victim’s desk. He had the pistol in his hand, and, as expected, his fingerprints were all over the grip. They were all over the guitar, too.

The police investigation found that Phoenix Wright had gone to speak with the victim on the night of the murder. In fact, the late Klavier Gavin himself had called him there, to ask about the day when he had lost his attorney’s badge due to presenting falsified evidence in a court of law. He was arrested and taken to the detention centre.

I ended up being his defense attorney, of course. Tomorrow is the trial. I heard the prosecutor is named Franziska von Karma. That name sent a chill down my spine. I had heard stories, stories about the von Karma family. Forged evidence, arranged testimonies… you name it. Nothing good whatsoever. Until Mr Wright sent Manfred von Karma to prison on death row and destroyed Franziska von Karma’s perfect winning record, thus helping them onto the right path.

“Apollo! Apollo! Are you just going to sit there thinking all day? Hurry up! We have to go to the detention centre to see Daddy!” Trucy whined while pulling on my arm.

That was Trucy, my assistant and half-sister. Self-proclaimed Magician Extra Ordinaire. No, sorry, Extraordinaire. Mr Wright is her father. She was adopted after her dad disappeared.

“OK Trucy! I’m coming! Stop pulling on my arm and go wait by the door for me.”

“OK Polly!” shouted Trucy. Ugh. When will she learn that I hate nicknames.

“Trucy Wright. For the last time, don’t call me Polly. Understand?” I said while glaring at her.

“Aww, but it’s so cuuuuuute!” Trucy whined.

Then she skipped off in the direction of the detention centre, her cape flapping. I distinctly heard her singing, “Polly, Polly, Polly, Polly…”

I will never understand that girl.


Spoiler: Chapter 2
“Hey Truce. Hey, Apollo. How ya doin’?” We were greeted by the ex-defense attorney. Typical Mr. Wright. Always laughing, smiling, and joking. How can he smile at a time like this?

“Hi Mr. Wright. How are you?”

“I’m fine Polly,“ he said.

Great, now see what she’s started. Now even he’s calling me Polly. Bah. I hate nicknames. I decided to ignore this.

“So, what happened last night?”

“Well, Mr. Gavin had called me to his office. We talked, and then I got up and went over to the lift to leave. I got inside it. There was a man inside the lift. He had on a black mask on, so I couldn’t see who it was. As soon as the lift door closed, the person took an object out of his pocket. I didn’t see what it was, the lift was too dark. The person raised whatever it was and hit me over the top of my head. I think the person was taller than me because I was hit quite high up. Then I fainted. The next thing I know, I was in Klavier Gavin’s office, holding a pistol and surrounded by Dick, Miles, and Ema,” he said with a straight face. Scary.

“ ‘Dick, Miles, and Ema’? Who are they?”

“Dick Gumshoe, Miles Edgeworth, and Ema Skye. Duh!”

“How’s your head, Daddy?” Trucy asked. She was wide-eyed and worried for her dad.
“It’s ok, now. I’ve still got a lump the size of Apollo’s forehead and Africa on my head, but it doesn’t hurt now.”

”Hey!”

“I know what will make you feel better, Daddy! Behold, The Amazing Mr. Hat!” Trucy shouted.

Ouch. Out came that monstrosity of a piece of wood. Reminds me of the Blue Badger, mascot of the police force.

“Why, hello, Daddy-o! How ya doin’ there-o?” exclaimed the Un-Amazing Mr.Hat.

“Quite fine, Mr, Hat. Hahahahahahahahaha!” Mr. Wright laughed.

“Ugh. Go away, you log,” I said while pushing it away. Thankfully Trucy obeyed.

“Aww, you’re no fun, Polly.”

“Hahahaha, you remind me of myself and Maya back when I was a lawyer,” he said with a look in his eyes. It looks like he’s daydreaming. “I miss her.”

“Yeah, come to think of it, I haven’t seen her in a while. How is she?”

“Oh, she phoned me yesterday. Since I’ve been in I haven’t had much time to write up my reports because I’m always in questioning. She thought I forgot her. How could I forget my dear Maya,” he said. “But she’s happy at Kurain with Pearl. She’s the Master now, you know.”

“Is Maya my new Mummy?” Trucy asked.

“N-n-n-n-no, she’s just m-m-my f-f-f-friend. Shouldn’t you be getting along to the crime scene now?”

Just a friend? Yeah right! His hand fidgeted in his pocket when he said ‘just a friend’. I better get going though. No time.

“Wow. That’s really good for her.”

“Trucy, we better get going to the crime scene. See you, Mr. Wright.”

“See you, Polly!” He was more then ready to get up and leave.

“Oh, wait! Mr. Wright! Have you got it ready yet? The document requesting me to be your attorney? I need it to get in the crime scene, you know.”

“Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. Here you go, Polly.”

Bah. Only one thing to do now. Time to check out the crime scene. Klavier Gavin’s office. I wonder what we’ll find there…


Spoiler: Chapter 3
We soon arrived at the Prosecutor’s Office. I flashed my request at the police officer in duty and he let me in. When I got in, I instantly saw Ema. It’s hard to miss her, what with the Snackoos and the white lab coat. The place was swarming with police officers and detectives investigating. I could make out a detective saying, “Any more evidence, pal?” “You, pal, check for fingerprints on the lift door!”

I quickly went over to Ema. She was with Miles Edgeworth. They were talking in hushed voices, but I could still make out what they were saying.

“How bad is the evidence against Mr. Wright?” That was Ema.

“Pretty bad. He was found holding the pistol and his fingerprints are on both murder weapons, the guitar and the pistol.”

“Oh man. I wish I wasn’t working against Mr. Wright,” Ema said with a sad look on her face.

“Me neither. But we have no choice. We’ll be testifying tomorrow.”

“Why don’t we give fake testimony to help?” Ema suggested.

Miles glared at Ema. “You’re a detective, Ema. You know why we can’t do that. We’d be found out straight away. But…”

“But… what?” I said.

“Oh, hi Apollo. Didn’t see you there. Yeah, Miles. What do you mean?”

“Well, since Franziska’s prosecuting, I thought…”

“Yes, yes? You thought what?”

“Well, Franziska’s changed a lot over the last 7 years. I was going to ask her to go easy on you, Apollo. She knows that Wright is innocent. She’s sure of it.”

“That would be great,” Ema said.

“The only thing is… would she do it?” Trucy came over to us.” I’ve heard things from Daddy about her. He keeps calling her ‘Franzy’. Is that her nickname?”

“Oh, hey, Trucy. Where were you?” I said.

“I was talking to Detective Gumshoe,” Trucy answered.

“Did you get an autopsy report?” I asked.

“No. I’ll go ask him!”

“No, Trucy. It’s ok, “Ema said.” I’ve got a copy here. Just don’t tell anyone that I’ve got it. I’m not even supposed to have a copy, as I’m just a witness in this case.”

I put it into the court record. “Thanks Ema. I appreciate it.”

“No problem Apollo. Anyway, Miles. What will you do about Franziska?”

“I don’t know. What do you think?” Miles said solemnly.

Trucy spoke up before me. “You could just sorta… indirectly ask her?”

“She’s been a prosecutor for 13 years, and she’s known me for 24 years. She’d see through that straight away, guaranteed, “Miles responded.

“Hey. Who will the Jurists be this time?” Ema asked.

“Well, Wright can’t choose them, even though he’s the Chairman. He’s the defendant. In that case, it always has to be chosen by the 6th jurist in the last trial that used the Jurist System, who is always the Vice-Chairman.”

“But who was the 6th Jurist?” Ema asked.

“I think I know,” I said.

Everyone turned their heads to look at me.” Who was it?” they asked me.

“Lamiroir. Also known as Thalassa Gramarye.”

Trucy slowly turned to look at me. “You don’t mean…”

“Mum. She was the 6th Jurist.”


Spoiler: Chapter 4
“Apollo! Was Mum really the 6th Jurist?” Trucy asked.

“Yes, Trucy. Mum was the 6th Jurist. She’ll be choosing the Jurists for this trial.”

“Hold it! Why do you both call her ‘Mum’? “asked Miles.

“Oh, didn’t you know? Apollo and I are siblings.”

Miles and Ema looked surprised. “What?!” they said together. “You’re related to each other?!”

I just shrugged my shoulders and said, “Yes.”

“Wow. When did you find out?” Ema asked.

“Just 2 weeks ago, “Trucy said. “Daddy told us. I remember being in shock for a few hours afterwards after finding out I was related to this bug-head.”

“Hey! Anyway, do you know the trial that happened 7 years ago? It was all over the news,” I said.

“Oh, you mean the one where Mr. Wright presented false evidence and lost his badge?” asked Ema.

“Yes, that’s the one.”

Trucy spoke up. “The magician that disappeared from the courthouse… was my real Daddy.” she said, sadly.

“So, he was Apollo’s father, too?” Ema asked.

“No, we have the same mother, but different fathers,” I said.

“My mother, Thalassa Gramarye, had two husbands. One, whom she was married to for a year before he died, and Zak Gramarye, who was the defendant that escaped in the trial,” Trucy explained.

“My father was Thalassa’s first husband, and Trucy’s father was her second husband, “ I told them.

“Oh, OK.”

Just then, Mum came upstairs and walked over to us. “Hey, kids,” she said. She hugged us both tightly.

“Mummy, is it true you’re going to be choosing the Jurists this time round?” Trucy asked.

“Yes, Trucy. I’ve already been to the Detention Center to ask Phoenix about who I should pick as Jurists,” Mum asked.

“So, what did he say?” I said.

“He said I should choose people that have experience with this sort of thing. People he knows, that he can trust.”

“So, who will you choose?” Trucy asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe Maya will come. She has plenty of experience as she used to be Nick’s aide in court when he was a lawyer,” Mum said.

“She probably will,” Trucy said. “She’d do anything to get Daddy put of this trouble. Pearl told me they love each other. I’m looking for evidence. This is the perfect opportunity! Will Pearl come?”

“Yes, Trucy. Where Maya goes, Pearl goes. Have you forgotten already?” I said.

Oh, this will be perfect! We can bug Daddy’s room…” Her voice trailed off as she walked away.

“No, no, no, Trucy!” I ran after her. “Not a good idea!” I glared at her.

She came back next to me. “Sorry, Polly!”

“It’s OK… HEY! Don’t call me Polly!”

“Hahahahahaha…” Her voice trailed off.

Like I said, she is so weird.


Spoiler: Chapter 5
“Order! Order! Order in the court!” The judge’s voice rang out above the mumbling of the crowd. Franziska shook her head and cracked her whip on the desk. There was immediate silence. “Miss von Karma, your opening statement,” he said.

“Foolishly foolish fangirls. The victim was Klavier Gavin, prosecutor and lead singer and guitarist of bestselling rock group, the Gavinners,” Here I heard some sobs from the audience. Ugh, fangirls. I rolled my eyes. “First he was hit over the head with one of his own guitars, presumably so he could be knocked out and wouldn’t put up a fight. Then, while unconscious, he was shot and killed by a direct shot to the chest.”

‘Thank you, Miss von Karma. You may call your first witness, “the judge said cheerfully.

“The prosecution calls Detective Dick Gumshoe to the stand!” Franziska shouted. She cracked her whip.

“Volume, Miss von Karma, volume.”

“Name and occupation, witness,” Franziska said. She hit Gumshoe with her whip.

“Oww, pal. My name is Detective Dick Gumshoe. I’m a homicide detective for the LAPD, and the detective in charge of the crime scene,” Gumshoe said with a frightened look on his face.

“Thank you, Detective. Please give you testimony regarding the case,” the judge ordered.

“Sure, pal.”
Testimony - The case

“The time of death was from 11pm to 11.30pm.”

“He was hit on the head with a guitar, then shot with a pistol in the chest. The murder was premeditated.”

“The defendant was found behind the victim’s desk, holding the pistol. He was unconscious.”

“Thank you, Detective,” the judge said.

“Here’s a photo of the crime scene,” Detective Gumshoe gave a photo to the judge.

The judge nodded and said, “The court accepts this photo into evidence. Please begin your cross-examination, Mr. Justice.”

Wow, for once, he actually knows what’s going on.

Cross examination – The case

“The time of death was from 11pm to 11.30 pm.”

“Hold it!” I shouted. “Ema Skye found the body, right?”

Franziska nodded. “Well, that was a colossal waste of time. Continue with the testimony.”

“Hey, I’m supposed to say that!” the judge exclaimed.

“Well, say it already!”

“Continue with the testimony.”

“He was hit on the head with a guitar, then shot with a pistol in the chest. The murder was premeditated.”

“Hold it! How do you know it’s premeditated?” I said.

Gumshoe started, “Well…”

He was suddenly interrupted by Franziska cracking her whip on the prosecutor’s bench. The sound rang out through the courtroom, loud and clear. “The defendant said that he was hit high on the head while he was in the lift. This object was obviously the murder weapon!”

“This is very important information indeed!” the judge exclaimed. “Please amend you testimony to include the new information we acquired.”

“Yes, Your Honor.”

“According to the defendant, he was hit while he was in lift. We concluded that the object was the murder weapon.”

“Objection! How do you figure it was the murder weapon? Because I don’t see how it could have been either of them.”

“Oh yeah? Well, why don’t you put your evidence at the end of that finger and point it where you really should be. Show us proof that the murder weapon was used to hit Phoenix Wright!”

“Here’s my proof.”

You're a great writer for an 11 year old. :D You're probably going to get some hate for killing off Klavier though from the rabid Klavier fan girls. But I don't very much like him, so good job! :D Can't wait to see what happens next!

I'll get it as soon as I'm ready. I'm planning to get it to about 10-15 chapters. I'm really busy with school and stuff, so I'm sorry.

By the way, my English teacher said that not even Form 5 girls write as good well as I do. That's really good coming from her as she never compliments ANYONE.

I thought the 2nd part was as good as the 1st, I also like how it explained what happened to Maya(I would have thought she'd be killed or something but still) good job man you have done it again.

Chapter 4 is now up!! I'm am very sorry it took so long, but I had exams at school and I was very busy all the time. When I didn't have exams, I had writer's block. It sucks.

If it cheers you up, I know how it is.

At any rate, I like the new chapter, but I find it just a little bit confusing when you don't differentiate the statements of Testimony from the pressing of it.

But then again, I tend to be a big baby about these kinds of things.


At any rate, I find it intriguing that Thalassa is choosing the jurists, and it seems as though a well thought out case is at hand! Now that you've had a review, might you please continue the story?

I'm at the edge of my seat. That cliff-hanger was very well thought out.

Thanks for reviewing!!! I have been desperate for reviews since I posted that chapter, and thank you for the compliments! No one has ever told me that before, as I'm not very imaginative. And what do you mean, with the testimony issue? Um, I just didn't understand your wording. Maybe ou wanted me to put the testimony in bold italic? Since italic is Apollo's thoughts...

You know how I feel? Well, I feel annoyed/angry/sad/disappointed. All at once. I have been getting views and not REviews, and that scares me into thinking that... it's just not good enough. I mean, I have missed many a science note to keep people happy, by updating.

I hope you don't think that I'm trying to tell you how to write, because I hate it when people do that. But, I find it to be easier to read because it subtracts the statements from the actual Cross Examination.

Anyway, it may seem a bit onesided, but you should keep it up!

No! Not at all. Actually, I prefer that, critisism always helps. As long as you actually tell me what's wrong, not just,'thats crap', I will be very happy to change as much as I can to suit your liking.

My friends and I are considering making an FF.net account for the three or us, since we all write, and we are all doing quite well with our fanfiction. In fact, my friend is doing an Ace Attorney/Pokemon crossover. I am very proud to say that I was the one that got her addicted to the series. Now, she's writing, drawing, spriting, etc. as much as I am! We also got our other friend and her cousin into it too, but not as addicted as we are.

Nice pace at times it did feel quick but it got the point solid and well. I enjoyed reading it was fun so far. Haven't seen a fic where Pheonix was the defendant before. The plot seems cool as well and the writing is clean. Thanks for the read. Nice cliff hanger in chapter 5.

Good luck on putting it on fanfiction.net if you decide to. You should be able to get more feedback on there. When I signed up you weren't allowed to post work for three days to avoid spam but after that you can post as much as you want.
I'll keep my eye out for the rest. ~
