"Uhh... If you could buy one of anything, what would you buy?" he asked, wondering what they'd say. In his head, he was singing, 'If I had a Million Dollars', trying to pay attention.

"Buy one thing....." Mira thought hard about it. "How much would be available?" Mira asked, trying to come up with an answer.

BM nodded at Sandra's answer. 'Makes sense,' he decided. 'If a little sad...' He then turned to Mira. "How much? Well, an infinite numbers of dollars!" he said, a little too excited, "But you can only buy one thing."

"What you can or cannot buy?" asked BM, trying to think of the part of his question that left so many holes. "Well, things you can't get with money, of course. Like happiness, or Australia." He started to move his arms around to convey his point, but hit them against the dashboard and stopped.

"Technically, you can buy Australia. Then again, if it cooperates, I could buy the world, but what's the point in that?" Mira asked, clearly having fun with this. "By that, I mean the nations of the world."

BM frowned and muttered under his breath "But I wanted Australia!" He then focused his attention to Mira. "Well, if they're selling. I mean, some nations may trade for infinty dollars, but not all of them. Which also brings to matter what counts as one thing..." He shook his head wildly and glared at Mira. "Now you've got me doing it too!"

Mira thought hard about his next question. After a few minutes, he came up with one. "Hey Sandra, what's our destination again?" Mira asked, though it was obvious that he was up to something. Nothing malicious, but still something.

Sandra knew Mira was obviously up to something. Probably trying to get her to tell some secrets. Oh, well. She wanted to know what he was up to anyway. Curse her curious nature. "Kurain," she replied.

Mira put his foot on the breaks, drifting a good place to park. "We're here." Mira said, turning his head back to see Sandra's reaction. Then he went to see BM's reaction.

Hearing Mia's question made BM sigh. 'And he's driving?' he thought, glaring at him. The car slowed down, and Mira told them they were there. His jaw dropped, and he looked out the window to see the sights. His left was a rather disappointing mountain road.

His right was a full-on old style mountain village, complete with cottages, a huge hand built mansion, and a payphone. He stuck his hand out to open the door, and hopped out of the car. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he turned to Sandra and muttered, "Nice place."

"What-?" Sandra was confused. "So, we aren't there?" She knew the ride was too short. It looked like the right place to her, but then again, she could only see smudges anyway.

Mira followed Sandra to the Fey Manor. I can only hope that this will work. Mira thought. Better yet, I hope that woman is still unconscious. If not, I hope this will work even if she is awake.

"Quantum what?" BM asked, trailing behind Sandra. "It's just a proverb... I doubt it has it's roots in science or anything."

Sandra almost seemed to read Mira's thoughts, as she thought, Our mystery woman was Claire, who is awake and probably under interrogation. She had no clue what Mira had in mind, but when had she ever known that?
"We're here," Sandra announced, stopping in front of a pretty large house. "I guess we should knock..."

Hm? Mira thought, looking at Sandra. That does make sense, but did you really reply to my thought? Mira turned back towards BM. "On the contrary, proverbs such as that one is a cryptic, scientific statement." Mira knocked on the door.

Sandra didn't answer. Maybe she really couldn't hear his thoughts, or maybe she didn't want to answer that.

Pearl opened the door to see Mira, BM, and Sandra standing right in front of them. "Who are you?" she asked.
"Sandra, Mira, and BM. And you're...Pearl, correct?" Sandra replied.v
"Yes! How did you know?!"
"It's pretty much impossible for me not to know that."
"Why are you here?"

"We came to discuss the case that I called about earlier." Mira told Pearl. "Is this a bad time or something? Or are we somehow early?" Mira decided to ask, seeing if his truly was a weird quantum thing that made the group arrive sooner.

BM cleared his throat to protest to Mira's description of proverbs, but failed to find the words. 'In ancient... No. Scientific hypotheses can be... Nah. Quantum physics describe...' Giving up, he turned his attention to the inside of the mansion, and the little girl inside it. 'She's adorable!' he thought, grinning.

"Um...I wasn't expecting to see you guys so soon," Pearl said. "But please, come in. We have hamburgers."
Sandra could smell them from where she was, and her stomach growled softly and she forced herself not to drool.
"That sounds good," Sandra said as she walked into the manor.

"Hamburgers?" BM asked, his stomach purring excitedly. "Ahem. We could... discuss the case over dinner." He took slow steps into the mansion and looked around for the hamburgers. They smelled delicious.

Mira followed Sandra and BM. Once inside, he began to let his eyes wander around the house, visually examining things for the heck of it. He followed the party until they stopped moving forward. He was ready to explain the case in greater detail, but he wanted everyone to be ready before they did so.

"Pearly, who are these guys?" Master Mystic Maya asked. She looked ovr at Sandra. "Oh..." she said. They both stared at eachother for a moment, then she asked, "Are these the guys who hired you?"
"Yes, Master Mystic Maya," Pearl replied.
"Please sit," Maya invited, plopping on the floor while Pearl left. She came back with a plate of hamburgers and handed them out.
"I hope you like these!" Pearl said.

"Thanks." Mira took a burger. "So yeah, the reason I called you was because of something we found at the crime scene."

Mira took a bite of his burger. "Mmmmmm," Mira chewed his burger, than swallowed.

"This is a good burger. So yeah, apparently a suspicious person was in the room and somehow Sandra tied him to the crime scene. The point is that he was channeled by another spirit channeler, but more importantly, replaced himself with a statue."

Mira took another bite, then swallowed after chewing a bit. "We have the spirit channeler in custody, so we can contact her very easily. Can you use your powers to figure out things like motivation and such?" Mira asked, then took another bite, chewed it, then swallowed it.

"If not, can you at least record the action of both the man and the woman in regards to this case?"

"A statue? What did it look like?" Pearl asked.
Sandra remembered. The man turned into a statue, and she knocked Claire out. She knew there was something about that man. He couldn't have turned into a statue, but he was probably long gone by the time they got to Kurain. She mentally slapped herself for not staying and trying to find the man.

BM's eyes widened when the place of hamburgers were brought out. They were huge! They were juicy looking! They were HUGE! He took a seat while the plate was brought around. Grinning, BM grabbed one and took a huge bite out of it. It tasted as good as it looked. After his mouthfull, he tried to turn his attention back to the case.

"The statue? She kind of wore a hood, with some jewelery and her face was all dark..." he paused to piece together his explanation. "She actually kind of looked like a Kurain medium! ...Does that help at all?"

"Sandra, such thoughts don't matter." Mira whispered to Sandra. "At least if they are able to locate people by description and/or memory alone." Then he turned his attention to BM's description. "Are you sure you're referring to the statue that the guy turned into?"

He pondered Mira's question for a moment, recalling his memory of the situation in the cave. 'Met the guy, gunplay, monologue, alakazam, statue appears, we take a look, lady falls from the sky, Sandra crushed, giggle inwardly... Hm... The statue...' "...I'm sure." he said, nodding. "Does that mean anything to us?"

Pearl and Maya gasped when they heard the description of the statue.
"It does mean something to mediums," Sandra said. "The statue is one of Ami Fey."
"How did you know?" Pearl asked.
Sandra didn't bother to answer.
"Yes, it sounds like it's a statue of Ami Fey, the first spirit medium. Our ancestor," Maya said. "Was the statue holding anything?"
