So i downloaded Godot's theme song and played it at work today just because I think its awesome. Two of my co-workers kept arguing over wether it sounds more like "pimp" music or "baby-making" music. So I'll let you guys decide. What do you think?

I don't think it fits either description. It sounds more like something you'd hear in a place like this (as you sip coffee):

(yes that's him in the photo. Old edit of mine) :godot:
The Orchestra version sounds like what you'd hear at a ball or something. Very 40's or 50's sounding.

I second what Johnny Rotan said. I can't imagine Godot as a 'pimp' and 'baby-making'? Don't know if I want to. I really like the Orchestra and Jazz versions.

I'm also going to agree with Johnny Rotan said. In fact, the picture he posted is exactly the type of place I would image music like that being played. Hopefully your co-workers like the music so you can play it without complaints :will:

Baby-makin', all the way. You can just feel it's a song reserved for the bedroom. =p

Neither. I can't say exactly what image comes to my mind in the presence of Godot's theme, but I certainly don't visualize either image you gave.

Oh come on, guys, that sexy sax and the slow piano and everything, it screams passionate cuddling in a dark bedroom on a water bed. =p Go on, admit it, I won't berate you for being late. XD

I know that a bunch of my friends say that it is a song for someone like a pimp, but I really don't think the song fits any of these categories.

My boyfriend thought it sounded like the music from the old British comedy 'allo 'allo the first time he heard it. But then hes always been a bit odd! Somewhat ruined the tune for me though.

Now if Godot's theme sounded anything like this, it might match the description :karma:

Someone once remarked at how it sounded like it was from a porn movie...

Sounds like a cuddle theme....on a waterbed....to me.

I don't think it really sounds like either of those categories. Just a smooth, jazzy tune. ^_^

:godot: Pimp music? Baby-making?

I don't think that it really fits either one. Pimp music would be a lot more gaudy, and baby-making less cool. I could imagine it being played at a low lit, local jazz club.

Btw, whenever I hear the description "baby-making" I always think of something like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uThnUmWRCCs. It seems like something my parents would say.

Personally, I feel his music is perfect for some smoky, sleazy 1920's/30's Jazz Club rather than either pimping/baby-making music.

Like in most of those black and white films set in New Orleans...

Depends on the situation and the mood.

In my opinion, the music suits a small, cozy Jazz Bar and some street's corner as well as some lascivious action (= perhaps also baby-makin', hell yeah :godot: ) ... Kinda depends on the version (Jazz one is more calm and chilled, for example) of the track, too.

It was obviously jacked from some homeless street performer. He wrote it to express his distaste for the coffee shop he performed in front of. The original title was "I can't stand that effin fragrance of dark coffee." So neither; it's hate music.

I AGREE WITH THIS

Or maybe it's just my dislike for Godot, and anything remotely related to Godot.....

if I had to choose between either of these, I'd have to go with Baby-making music; I wouldn't put it past Godot with the ladies (even though he's just hellbent on ruining Phoenix's life)

Nice theory, man ...
Yup, perhaps we should take a look at the other side of something more often.
Perhaps Pearl's Theme has hidden satanistic messages?!

and if you listen to the eccentric theme that plays with Lisa (and all other characters with that theme), you can hear "The Cake is a lie" and "Still Alive"
