Use a shockwave and a lightning rook pin.

Also get yourself a splish-splash barrier it's invincibility and good healing but takes a while to charge so stay safe while it resets, thats what wolf is for keep you moving around and invincible.

Also check kaledioscope from Lapin Angelique I find it's pretty good but seriously go for a shockwave and lightning rook pin.

Well, you don't really need any special pins. Hell, I went straight into it without Wolf and the like and finished the fight easily. There is a big trick which is to use Kanesada or higher, Rakuyo or Kusanagi and just go ballistic. For some reason, if you keep attack near the head, the uber beams doesn't get you. Well, that's how it went for me...

How is this game? I'm thinking of getting it.... I'd rather get views from actual people I can converse with than random reviews.

I don't want to hear just "ZOMG THIS GAME IS SO GREAT IS TEH BEST EVAR U MUST GET IT!!!" or even just, "I really like the game. The story is great, and the battle system is really unique!" ('Cause I've heard quite a few of my friends go on about it like that.) I want to hear pros and cons. Not just pros.

Well, the battle system is so-so. Unique, I guess, but...

The soundtrack is awesome. Everything from rock to hip hop. Got some sweet tunes.

It can be a pain in the ass hunting for pins and such. I've never liked the fact that you have to befriend people in stores in order to get stuff.

And god, I hate those elephants...

Overall, it's ok. 6/10. Get it if you like to.

The battle system is better than alright and the game deserves higher than 6/10 I'd say 8/10.

The storyline is immense with stunning plot twists....the artwork is brilliant while the characters are charming and you'll find yourself picking favourites out of them in no time at all as the cast is diverse and entertaining.

However....the battle system takes some getting used to, you could say the game has a severe learning curve but once you get used to it...you feel like a god as you dominate the battlefield.
Unfortunately each partner you fight with has a different style and so you'll need to repeat the learning curve with a new one just after you get to grips with the last one. Particularly Joshua is hell to learn I found.

Still like I said once you get to grips with them you just feel awesome!
And yea the soundtrack is great too.

And the alternate story is great for a laugh.

(Also Hotel Dusk? GOOD CHOICE! :butzthumbs:

Oh god thats bad.

Though rainbow wasn't THAT bad....but he called the pink spirit first I think.

The game has it's funny moments....

Actually, Shockwave is part of my main deck, so that's cool. Lightning Rook I actually wondered about. Is it worth evolving it from Thunder Rook, or should I just go ahead and get it as part of the main plot?

Splish-Splash seems pretty cool, it may take some getting used to though.

Kaliedoscope is goose chase after goose chase to get. I'll hold off on that one.

I don't know about the girl magnet bit....he does hang around junk heaps all day and last I checked going on about maths all the time wasn't THAT interesting still the rest seems right.

And B.M. you get a lightning rook when you beat Kitanji.
Also don't use the basic shockwave pin when you can get soooo many better ones, swing by Jupiter of the Monkey's job to pick up the advanced shockwave pins. You can use this to slice your way out of the evil orange bubble by going like mad with it.

I know, butyou can also get a Lightning Rook by evolving a Thunder Rook, which you find on Neo Classical Drake on Easy.

But all that hardly matters now, since I already beat him. Splish-Splash Barrier is godly. Thanks for the advice!

@ B.M. Yes....yes it is godly much better than most of the recovery pins out there but it doesn't matter how you get lightning rook just GET it, it's very nice and effective and it looks cool.

@Cockatrice I ain't too sure about the attractive part either, he looks kinda shifty and especially in

looks kinda greasy I think.

Of course it's the same technique but...it doesn't aim properly. It shoots the lightning bolts in a V shape extending from your palm in the general area you point in. I prefer lightning rook cause it's more precise.

Oh man, I just OWNED Draco Cantus! He hates Lightning Rook, Ice Risers, and Pamper Me Tether so much... (yes, I know Sweet Talk Tether is better, but that's not what I had)

Funny how the way I learned to appreciate the tethers was by making the mistake of taking the needlessly frustratingly complicated route to something when there was a perfectly good shortcut I hadn't thought of at the time, several months ago. XD

You guys make the game seem more complicated than it is. I just pick up whatever I happen to like in a deck, and voila! (I know, I can't spell it)

Am I the only fan of balling your enemies? For example, when they get hit by that lolita bat thingy, they bounce off it. I tend to shoot more and more until the other pins have fully recovered. It's effective, exept that some are imune to it. I find it fun to keep bosses in the air using this method.

I never liked the sound of tethers so I don't use em.

and I always keep a back up pins until lightning rook charges though lolita bat is fine but what do you mean by balling them?

You know, when they bounce? They usualy get hit twice, sending them backwards and then fowards. By that time, you can shoot another one to keep them bouncing. Repeat. Not the most effective way, but it's kinda fun to watch.

If I'm not mistaken, That's a Pig Cha-Cha. It should say which pin you need to beat it in a cartoony text bubble. That will be the only pins that works on it. OR, if you have high attack on Neku and Partner and the clothing for 4 or more fusion stars, a Fusion attack at the start of battle might work (it did for me).

When I bought this game I had high expectations. Unfortunately when I started playing I didn't get directly drawn into the plot or the game itself. Everytime I played I put the game on hiatus and kept going. I finally got addicted when Josuha appeared. I finally finished the game and was overall pleased with the ending.

I even downloaded the song. :) /random
