Viviene groaned inwardly. Kyle couldn't be saved. Any last words at all...

Crescenta... Manor...

Vivi wasn't sure why, but a shiver went up her spine. A strange memory was fluttering before her.

Her parents didn't fight often, but whenever they did, it usually was about money. Viviene never understood why, as a child; Mother didn't work often, but Father was a lawyer, with decent clients. However, their most violent eruption was riddled. Particularly one line...

"Well, I'm sorry that our home is nothing like Crescenta!"
"Harold, now is not the time!

Vivi did not know why she remembered that just now. But it was just a silly coincidence, wasn't it?

She calmed her mind as she pushed the memory behind her and listened to Nexus
"Not personally, but how hard is it to find a manor in this city?" she asked. The police department and ambulance finally came in, sending most people in a fluster. Viviene looked at Nexus for any sign of injury.
"Do you feel well enough to walk? If so, we may be able to get out of here without being bombarded with too many questions," Vivi asked with slight concern, reaching out for the pink card and placing it visibly on the counter, careful to not leave too many fingerprints. "As long as I leave it here, the police probably won't even ask," she muttered.

"Yeah, getting out may be a good idea. Let's move." Nexus slid over the counter. "The back way's more secluded." He said, opening a door marked 'Staff Only'. After a brief walk through a small kitchen, the door opened onto an alley.
"We should get back to the station. The records room should have something about Crescenta Manor. Did we bring your Patrol Car or mine? I forget..."

Nadine watched her victim from the alley, sharpening her knife on the brick wall, where it made a satisfying scraping sound. To be a De Killer is to be an assassin she thought to herself. Despite the fact that she had attempted to flee that life, the De Killer blood was in her.

Her victim took out a cigarette from the bench he was sitting on, and lit it, raising it to his lips and taking a long breath. Nadine tensed, waiting for just the right moment, when suddenly, a door banged open in the building behind her. She jumped, and looked behind her, where she saw a police officer stepping out.

Flicking a glance back towards her victim, she she sprinted to the bench and sunk her knife into the back of his skull, dropping a small white card with a red knife on it beside him, before withdrawing her knife and sprinting off, her dress bloodless, without looking back to the officers that may or may not have seen her.

Damn, I shoulda had breakfast she thought as the aroma of the food was getting to her. To distract herself, she looked around. Other than Cecilia, no one was home. She knew why Alison wasn't there but there was still Ivan but Lilak could guess that he drove Alison to the investigation. "So Ivan went too right? Not that surprising though I suppose" Lilak said as her hunger started to die down a bit. "So what's this about a 'suicide' ?" Lilak asked.

Cecilia smiled. "It was an assassination I pulled off. You see, I made it look like the man hanged himself, and I don't care what my client did afterwards," she said as she finished preparing Lilak's burger. "Here you go. No pickles and no tomatoes. Eat as much as you want." She was just happy to not be in the house alone.

"What about entering? how did he not see you? Man I don't know how you de Killers do it." Lilak said as Cecilia finished making her burger. "Thanks" Lilak said starting to eat the burger hungrily. "Mmmm this is good... so you can kill and cook?" she said, laughing as she paused from eating. The burger was delicious, and satisfied Lilak's hunger. As she grabbed a napkin to wipe her face she asked, "So what about Ivan, what's he doing lately?".

((Sorry I haven’t been on in yonks, my internet is down at home, and now I’m resorted to using school computers XD))

Nadine had run several miles before she stopped to catch her breath. Looking at her surroundings, she saw a huge mansion looming above her. But of course I end up here, she thought to herself bitterly.

Looking around again, she could see no-one, and she leant against a brick wall, by the house she had left so long ago, trying to decide whether or not to enter, because she was in desperate need of a drink.

Cecilia smiled. "You're welcome," she said, satisfied. "I can't tell you how I did it. You know what they say, 'A DeKiller never reveals their secrets.' Excuse me." She casually got up and opened the door to see a lady leaning against the brick wall. "You seem tired. Would you like a drink?" she asked casually.

"Haha, course. I should've known." Lilak said as she stepped out of the kitchen and watched Cecilia walk over to the front entrance. When Cecilia opened the door, there was a tall, slender girl with dark brown hair. She was leaning against the wall panting as if she had been running from something. huh... probably just some runner... she thought approaching the door to see a better view of the person. When she got to the door she began to ask "Here, you want me to get some water for y-". Lilak paused, awe-struck. The face of the girl was oddly familiar, Lilak didn't know that many people and she seemed to be more than someone Lilak had seen one day. Lilak couldn't pinpoint who this person was, but she did know that she had known the girl from somewhere before. Wanting to figure out who this person was and hoping she didn't recognize her, Lilak stepped back into the house. As she turned towards the kitchen she asked "Hey Cecilia, you want me to get some water for her?".

((btw my character saw a picture of her somewhere when she started working for the de Killers, and it was a young picture so she doesn't totally recognize her. If this contradicts something, I can change it.))

"That would be great," Cecilia said. "I think she would really appreciate that. So, why are you here?" she asked Nadine. "I don't think this is your usual jogging route..." She could swear she knew this woman from somewhere, but couldn't quite place where or when she knew her from.

"Alright" Lilak replied heading back to the kitchen. She went over to the cupboards and opened them. She quickly grabbed a glass and went over to the sink. As she was filling the glass up with water, she thought Where have I seen her before? uggh where?! god dammit why can't I remember her? Suddenly a jolt sent Lilak out of her train of thought. The glass was overflowing with water. With haste, she turned the tap off and dumped some of the water out so the glass wasn't so full. She then grabbed a dish cloth and wiped the sides dry. Look Lilak, relax, it'll come back to you. Lilak sighed and walked back towards the front entrance. "Heres the water, sorry I took so long. I had some troubles..."

"Your car. I wasn't sure exactly where the cafe was; you got pretty frustrated with the idea of handing out directions, so we just took your car," Vivi said with little expression, her face rather unreadable. "Right here, wasn't it?" Viviene said, pointing to one of the few cars in the parking lot. It was a patrol car, but without the siren lights, it looked completely normal. The police commissioned detectives normal cars so that they could do stakeouts and such without bringing attention.

She waited for Nexus to unlock the car, slipping into the passenger seat when she could open it. Viviene laid her head back and closed her eyes.

Stay out of the way. It's for your own good.

A shiver went up her spine. Already, Viviene could feel the speakers hands closing around her locket. Speaking of the locket...
Vivi cupped it and closed it, realizing that the man had opened it for some reason. Does... he know...?
As she waited for Nexus to come into the driver's seat, she mumbled to herself.
"Why... would Shelly be interested in me?" she murmured. She never liked the De Killers much, but she never had much evidence that they were connected with her father's disappearance and mother's death. But now she wasn't so sure...

All the more reason I need to talk to the De Killers

Nadine jumped as she was suddenly approached by complete strangers. She ignored what they said, as all of her instincts were screaming RUN! That was, until Cecilia decided to make an entrance. She stared at her little sister in shock, quietly accepting a sodden glass from a stranger and drinking it, without even checking for poison as usual. Oh, crap, she thought. Not this.... After draining the glass, she cleared her throat and handed it back to the stranger. "Well, thank you." she managed to say, proud of herself for keeping the charisma and beauty in her voice. "I'm not a jogger, Cecilia. Would I run in this dress?" She caught her breath slightly as she realised she had spoken her sister's name, and prayed that no-one would notice.

"You...know me?" Cecilia asked. Now she was REALLY racking her brain as to who the person in the dress was. "Anyway, why were you running? As you said, it's unusual to run in such a pretty dress." She decided that if she knew the woman in front of her, she'd be able to remember after talking long enough.

"I-uhh..." for once, Nadine was speechless, her pretty face creased in a frown as she tried to figure out how to deal with the situation. "Well, everyone knows the De Killers, right? I mean, you'd know if you met one..." she laughed brightly to try to hide her nerves, and smiled at the small girl. "Do I smell hamburgers?"

Cecilia knew she was lying. "I'd say no, considering most of my friends don't know I'm a DeKiller," Cecilia said. "Please, come in. There are plenty of hamburgers to go around." She knows me somehow, and I'm going to find out how she does and who she is, she thought as she moved out of the door way to let Nadine in.

Not convinced that her ploy had worked, Nadine followed Cecilia into the house, where the smell of hamburgers was sending her into heaven. "Ah, I haven't eaten since..." Nadine caught herself again. "...since breakfast." She scolded herself for being so careless with her words, and examined her sister whenever she looked away. She had lost all traces of baby fat already, but she could still recognise her from the little baby that she left behind.

"Burgers for breakfast?" Lilak mumbled to herself "She's really starting to act strangely now..." Lilak followed Cecilia and the strange and familiar girl back into the kitchen. Ha, guess no one can resist burgers she thought quickly, a little amused. Lilak went over to the cupboards again and went to grab a glass. Hopefully she won't mind... gah I should ask anyways. "Hey Cecilia, may I have a glass of water too?" Lilak said after she turned around to face the two girls. How she said it made her feel kinda weak and stupid, but she refused to let the fact show. Huh, wait a minute she thought after Cecilia's reply Didn't that girl say Cecilia's name? Lilak felt her head spin for a moment. Now this is just getting weird...

"No. Go ahead and get yourself a glass of water," Cecilia replied with a brilliant smile on her face as she started getting Nadine's hamburgers ready. "What do you want on your burger? There's ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, mayonaise, bacon..." She hoped her new guest wasn't in a rush to leave.

She amused herself by watching how Cecilia moved, and how similar it was to her own movements. The same grace, she thought, and I didn't even grow up with her. I guess I might regret it...

"Then I guess I'll give you everything," Cecilia said, piling the toppings on Nadine's burger. "So, you might think this is rude, but what is your name? I can't remember..." She looked like she was ashamed of herself. How could she not remember someone who so obviously knew her really well? Were they friends at one point? Cecilia just had to know before that woman left.

Or I could go up to Ivan and smack him on the back with a great big fucking pole. Or..." The list continued until the car reached the station. Nexus got out and entered.
Slipping into his big comfy chair, he called up Google and searched 'Crescenta Manor'. Immediately a result, an adress not too far from the station.
"So, you reckon that's the one?"

Viviene sat in uncomfortable silence as Nexus listed off his death threats to the De Killer family. Sheesh, he hates them more than I do... she thought rather sarcastically.
Ivan was a name she had never heard of, and her eyes picked up interest. She wanted to hear more about this guy; another De Killer the police seemed to have no knowledge of. Of course, even if his existence was known, what would the police do?

Vivi breathed a sigh of relief as they entered the station. Nexus stopped his rather sadistic list and went down to business. She looked at the computer with him.

"Wow, they're closer to home than I thought," Vivi murmured. "But that indeed looks right. We should probably get there soon. I'd bring back-up, except," she huffed, "the police would laugh in my face."
Viviene went over to the mouse to press the print button, and the directions began to print out in an orderly form. "I'll drive; if the De Killers know you so well, it would probably be best to take my car," Vivi explained. That's probably how Shelly knew where we were, in any case. "I mean, it's not like whoever live in this mansion know who I am."

"Ok thanks" Lilak said after finishing off her glass of water. As Cecilia started to make a burger for the girl, her name was Nadine wasn't it? Lilak knew she couldn't think straight with them being there. Lilak went out of the kitchen and headed towards the living room. If I heard correctly she did stop at De. If she is who I think she is, she's doing a pretty bad job at keeping this a secret. As Lilak then reached the living room, she slumped down onto the couch. Now let's see, where have I first seen her... Lilak started to think about why "Nadine" was so familiar. Lilak had a guess of where she had come from, but there was no proof, no evidence (well there was somewhat, but it wasn't rock solid). So she decided to start from the beginning, when Lilak was first hired.

"Thank you,” Nadine said, as calmly as she could, and she devoured the burger, not even stopping to try to make it look inconspicuous. She was too hungry to care, and she was being too careless with her words, better to keep her mouth full.

Cecilia waited patiently for her to finish. She knew she was a good cook, but she didn't know she was that good. That Nadine was definitely strange, but, then again, so was Cecilia.

When Nadine had finished her burger, she wiped her mouth neatly with her handkerchief with a small embroidered N on it. "I'm sorry. I uh...haven't had a burger for a while," she said lamely, standing up. For the first time, she noticed how tall she was compared to her little sister. Nadine desperately wanted to tell Cecilia they were related, she knew she could trust her. But it was the question of the others...

"Would you like anything else? I have lemonade left over from yesterday," Cecilia said, slightly unnerved that Nadine got up. She didn't want her to leave yet. Cecilia still didn't know where Nadine knew her from. "Or you could have some chips. There's fresh fruit." Cecilia didn't seem to react at all to Nadine's lame response to her cooking.

"Sure," Cecilia said. It was what she wanted. She led Nadine to her room. "This is about as private as we can get. I can yell at the top of my lungs without anyone hearing me from in here. I love it like that." She opened the door and walked in, waiting for Nadine to walk in before closing the door.

"Yeah. It's been nagging at me the whole time I was talking to you," Cecilia said. Then, she blushed a little. "O-of course, I was paying attention to you and everything..." Cecilia took a breath, and suddenly any sign of embarrassment was gone. "So, um...How do you know me?"

Lilak tried to remember, what had happened when she was first hired. She had remembered being in someone's office. She had to sign some papers of trust or something to make sure Lilak could betray the de Killers. Lilak never saw the reason to betray them though, it was good pay and a fun job. Wait a minute.. Lilak turned around to see Cecilia and Nadine had left the kitchen. Hmmm.... I wonder what they're doing, probably having a talk. Lilak really wanted to eavesdrop on them, but she didn't know where they were exactly. Though, they were probably in Cecilia's room but Lilak knew that room was sound-proof so eavesdropping there was near impossible. There was nothing she could do then try to remember that day, Lilak could have sworn there was something on that day that was similar. Lilak tried to remember something about the office. Hey, wasn't it I-. Lilak was snapped out of thought, of course! Lilak stood up and ran for the door.

After accidently leaving the door open, she was outside. She headed for her bike running down the steps. When she got to her ride, her bag was still strapped to it. God damn it I can't believe I left this out here. Lilak reached into her bag and pulled out her 17 inch Macbook pro. She turned it on and when it had finished starting up, she searched up suicide cases that were resent. Let's see, Cecilia did say she made him look like he had hung himself... A result came up that caught her eye. 25 year old Fred Haven, hung in his room, a suicide. Hmm seems about right, I only hope this is the case Alison is 'investigating'.

With that Lilak mounted her bike and screeched out of the driveway.

((I wonder where Sho and PhoenixFire went off to...))

"Well..." Now that the moment had come, Nadine was getting cold feet, a whole list of doubts running through her mind. "You probably won't believe me if I tell you outright." She crouched down to Cecilia's height, so they were face to face. "Where do you think you know me from?"

"Well...um..." Cecilia began. "You seem to have faded from my memory. There's lots of things I don't remember about you. So, I'd say from my early childhood?" Cecilia was staring Nadine right in the eye as she said that, thankful that Nadine crouched down so she could. If Cecilia wasn't staring her in the eyes, she would have lost her nerve.
