As they drove, Nexus was silent. He was thinking, hard.
It's time, Nexus. All these years you've been waiting, and now it's finally time. Just think...
They pulled into the drive. Nexus got out and, pistol drawn, ran to the front door. He found it open, to his surprise. He ran in, Vivi in tow.
The grand entrance hall was open. Then the memories came flooding back to Nexus;being taunted in this room, being pushed down those grand stairs...
"FUCKERS! LEAVE ME ALONE!" He yelled, and charged up the stairs. Memories guided him to a certain room, a room that had stuck in his mind. He ran to it and kicked down the door. he gasped as he saw his old room.
It was in the state he had left it, but the de Killers had left their mark. Everything was gummed up with superglue. His computer's monitor was smashed. The hard drive was missing. The posters had been graffited. The picture of himself holding a small baby had a crosshair drawn over in red pen over his face, and on the wall 'DIE, TRAITOR' was spray painted.
Nexus just looked and ran again. He kicked down another door-
-to be confronted with two girls, one eighteen, the other about eleven.
"What the fuck?"

Viviene sat in silence as she drove through the city towards the mansion. Nexus was in the back, contemplating quietly, it seemed. However, the minute she pulled up to the mansion, he ran out the car and went up to the surprisingly opened door. Vivi yelled "Wait!" but it was too late. She locked the door, gun drawn, and burst into the room.
She followed Nexus quietly, her eyes taking in all the info around the house. This... is where the De Killers have lived!? Obviously, all of their killings must have netted them a good fortune, but still...
Vivi peeked into the room Nexus first burst into; whose room it was, she didn't know. The room was in an absolute mess, completely different from the rest of the house. Did... Nexus used to live in this room...? she surmised, only by the foggy look in his eyes. However, he soon left and went to a different room. Viviene followed, completely sure that this was against all protacal she'd learned.
Finally, they burst into a room where two young girls were. Vivi stood, stunned. They start... when they're so young! How horrible! she thought in disgust.
The conversation was... interesting like a family soap opera. A cousin he'd found; another he didn't know about. Once she was introduced, Vivi felt paralyzed. What could she do... these kids were so young...
There was one thing she could do.
"Nexus! Hold your position!" Vivi yelled, grabbing the gun and trying to put it down. The little girl, named Cecilia, was getting very frightened. She may be a De Killer, but she's still a child...
"Is it correct to assume that everyone in this room, except for me, is a De Killer?" she asked, trying to swallow her shaking and remain calm. Hopefully, that would slow down Nexus a little... or it would make it worse.

When she saw the green card flash in front of her, Vivi stared at it with intensity. She.... she did that!? Viviene gasped. There's my proof...! It-it was...
This little girl.
Vivi closed her eyes for a moment. This girl, despite what she said, was she forced into this business? Obviously there were ways to get out: Nexus and the older girl were an example. But still; she was just eleven-years old. Did she really want a life of killing?
The young girl's response to her was... also interesting. Vivi cocked her head and raised an eyebrow.
"I'm... not sure how I'm considered a friend, since we just met," Viviene said suspiciously I couldn't even stop Nexus... thank goodness he did, anyways. "But, are you really sure you want to continue what you're doing?" Viviene stepped towards the girl and knelt down to be eye-level with her.
She opened her locket.
On one side was a picture of a man with the same auburn hair Vivi had, with distinct features. On the other side was a picture of a rather beautiful lady with darker brown hair and intense blue eyes that Vivi also had.
"My father was killed—murdered. Why is that justified? You kill for money; how do you not know that those people weren't killed... for greed, like my father?"

Cecilia stared at the picture in the locket. She got a look in her eye that could only be described as different when she looked at Vivi. There was more...recognition in her eyes.
"Vivi," she began, carefully choosing her words. "There are times...I...I have been doing this as long as I can remember," she finally said, "I-I can't think of anything else I can do...The whole...Assassinating thing...It's my life. It's how I'm different. It's...The only thing I'm good at..." How was she supposed to explain to that woman without hurting her feelings more? The better question was how could she come up with a reasonable explanation? It was hard for her to come up with anything. Her reasoning sounded lame even in her own ears. Finally, she decided to add something. "There are times when...When the law fails to bring justice..." Then, Cecilia stopped. She found she couldn't continue. "I-I'm sorry for your loss..." she finally concluded.

Her frown became deeper as Cecilia talked, her stomach tying in knots. The only thing she knows how to do... she's so young! She could be anything! She's a smart girl...
However, the tidbit about the law almost sent Viviene in a flurry. But...
How true.
Vivi closed her eyes again as she contemplated. She hated this... this doubt. Actually, she hated everything about this conversation. It just wasn't her nature to question much of anything except what was right and wrong. Viviene's eyes snapped open, her electrifying eyes ablaze for a moment in an almost strange kind of frenzy, but then softened.
"...Thank you for your kind words," she whispered. "But, don't feel like you're stuck in something. Don't... make the same mistake I did," Vivi continued. A knot was being tied tighter. "I felt... forced into this profession. It was the only way, I thought, to get answers. But I've found that some answers just refuse to resurface." Tears began well up, but she wiped them away quickly.
How ironic. I'm being sentimental with an assassin.
However, a short-term memory began to resurface in her mind. Her eyes blazed again with the same intensity as a perceiving detective... or a killer.
"But there is one question I'm not going to run away from," she finally said aloud, standing up and closing the locket. Vivi gazed at all of them; all of the De Killers. For some reason, her meet-up with Shelly refused to leave her. Why am I pushing this issue!? "Why is Shelly—"
A cell phone began to ring.

Vivi tried to remember what exactly she thought was odd about why Shelly was talking to her. Maybe it was the fact that Shelly normally taunted the police and coercing them to catch him (not that they ever did). But in this case... he was threatening her to stop pursuing the case. Why was he so interested? Or maybe it was along Vivi's train of thought that she constantly wondered if Shelly was related to her life at all.
She knew she'd have to speak when Cecilia was looking at her intently after her phone conversation. Vivi gulped; if she wanted answers, now was the time. But...
Viviene shook her head. "I seemed to believe that Shelly would have an interest in me, considering he told me today to stay out, instead of being his usual taunting self." Her eyes narrowed. "I suppose you would know his character better than I would, however..."

"Perhaps you're right," she muttered. "I suppose I'm making a big deal over nothing." [i]Or I guess it is a big deal, considering a life at stake, but not by 'De Killer' standards. "However, I suppose the next logical question would be..." Viviene narrowed her eyes and her hand unconsciously went to her hand cuffs. "What to do with you. I think it would be worthwhile to know that unless you are able to give me your client's name, you will be arrested and tried as an adult for first degree murder of Fred Haven. With your client's name, you will most likely be tried as an accomplice of some sorts, but will probably get a less severe penalty for being an informant."
Vivi straightened up, glancing at Nexus who was suddenly quiet. "Unless you can give me some good reasons why I should not arrest you on the spot."
((heh, should someone be playing Shelly? Or is he just going to come in on convenient times?

"Um...Miss Vivi, you realize what I am, right? Who I am. Going to prison so early in my life...What do you think that would do? More assassins would have more jobs available, for sure," Cecilia said. "But will you seriously arrest me in front of my brother and sister while you still have so many questions? Maybe you will, maybe you won't. Either way, I'm going to go to jail, aren't I?"

((Also, I just decided to add another piece of info about my character that I didn't mention before hand. It's mostly for story tension. Bear with me please
))Viviene gritted her teeth. Come on, can you really let an eleven-year-old phase you like this!? What would be the right decision? Here, Viviene had the chance to give the police such valuable info; a De Killer in jail, no less! And also, the police could keep an eye on Crescenta Mansion... until the De Killers moved out, she thought with a groan.
Vivi glanced toward Nexus. "I don't know how your cousin would feel, exactly. I do know that your sister would probably want to stop me. And you think I still have questions. Maybe I have questions about... the De Killers, their killings, and their clients. But other than that, what questions would I have?" Vivi laughed nervously. She knew she was caught, but she decided to see what info she could get out of this girl. "It's not as if you could answer the questions I've been trying so hard all my life to seek. And I doubt I'll ever find those answers." Viviene stood up and began to pace. "You've shown me what I was truly like when I was your age; I felt stuck."
Viviene flexed her hands and fingers. "Did you know that when I was your age, I had the same instincts you all prize yourself with?" Vivi smirked. "I'm no De Killer, but I was able to easily comprehend the mind of a killer, as strange and scary as it sounds." She suddenly reached out her hand, palm down, towards one of the expensive-looking items in the room, stopping only millimeters from it. "A hair closer, and that thing would have been shattered into a million pieces." Quickly with her other hand, she pushed her forefinger and thumb only millimeters away from Cecilia's neck. "And that would have left you paralyzed for a day. I was able to see all the pressure points of the human body and I knew what each pressure point could do. Almost none of this was taught; I simply knew." Vivi retracted her hand before anyone could react violently. "That frightened me because it was one of the only skills I had at that time. I had to work so hard in school to become what I felt was the only choice I had left to accommodate my needs: a career that would prevent and train me from having to impulsively use those skills; a career where I could use the only other trained skill I had, my perception; and a career where I could discover what happened to them." She touched her locket lightly.
"My point? You're not stuck in this profession. I could arrest you, sure; but that wouldn't help me or you. You're more intelligent than I was when I was your age; you wouldn't have to work very hard to become something... someone else. But," Vivi paused. "Justice still needs to be served for those who don't get a voice. Who was your client!?"
((okay, why is this rant so long!? Dunno, but it was fun to write!

"Ha," she finally said. Then, she burst out laughing. "I-I'm sorry, I just..." she cleared her throat. "The whole reason you guys are here in the first place is because my client was an idiot. That or he was setting me up. Either way, I guess I could repay the favor..." Cecilia said, obviously trying to justify breaking the contract.

))Vivi raised an eyebrow, using the small idiosyncracy to hide her sudden insecurity and apprehension. Cecilia's laugh made her jump a little, unsure of why she reacted so. Viviene gritted her teeth. I hope she isn't mocking me... Vivi swallowed her growing fear. Cecilia's last statment amused her.
"I've heard De Killers break their contract with their... clients if their client has broken the contract," Vivi said aloud, her eyes sparkling amusment. She didn't know why exactly, but Vivi decided it would be better to shut her mouth and see if Cecilia would give up any info. I could then simply arrest the client... I should be able to arrest this girl, but what is preventing me...? Viviene shook her head. Before she could add anything, however, the sister began talking.
Vivi flinched.
What on earth is she talking about!?
Viviene narrowed her eyes to their killing stare. "What are you talking about?" she snapped. "I have no secrets to hide; I'm Vice-Head Detective Viviene Deville of Criminal Affairs. I'm sure you think you De Killers know everything about me." Vivi threw her hands up in the air in agitation. "There may be strange things in my family, but not in me. So tell me," Viviene walked towards the older girl, her stare steady. "Who on earth do you think I am?"
