I mean apparently her and Dollie's dad was named Hawthorne and all, but he didn't take Iris with him and all... Since Kurain is matriarchal and everyone there is named Fey, and Iris was also left at a Kurain channelling dojo for her whole life, her name is still probably Fey.

I have many yaoi OTPs which overlap... And most of which involve the Gavins.
I do write/support yuri and het from time to time though.

I don't think Iris has a last name. She probably gave up whatever it was when she became a shrine maiden at Hazakura like Bikini did. The fact that her name never changes in the Court Record during 3-5 even after you learn her true identity lends weight to that.
If it was anything, I'd lean more towards Fey. Dahlia and her father probably took his original surname when they left Kurain to disassociate themselves with the Fey clan.

But yeah, Fey is more likely than Hawthorne, and that's what I was trying to ask.

However "Iris Hawthorne" has a better ring than "Iris Fey", as irrelevant as that is.
Still, I don't think she has one, but since she left with Dahlia and their father, she probably retained that name until she was left at the temple.

Its true, I just finished a replay of 3-5 and both of them have no last names. Just Iris and Bikini. I agree with her last nam going towards Fey. It sounds more.. How can I put this, reasonable?

Thats hard to choose which one is suitable for Ms.Iris, but if you ask me I think Iris Fey would sound nice (and safe, I guess) even though she lacks or no spiritual powers.

However, on the subject of which Iris would prefer... I'd say neither. She doesn't like her father, and she doesn't really like the Fey clan either, considering what the fighting over Fey power did to her family. She also states that she doesn't like channeling. I think she'd prefer not to associate herself with either side of the family.
I like the ring of "Iris of Hazakura" though, if some form of differentiation from other Irises is needed.

I'm pretty sure that's the case with Iris.
Of course, there are exceptions. When secular leaders officially convert to Buddhism but do not relinquish their power, they keep their old surname; for example, Takeda Shingen.
I'm speaking from what I know of Chinese and Japanese culture, so this might not be true for other Buddhist countries...
