He'll probably snap if I ask another question. I guess I'd better make the next one count, Martha thought. I would tell them it is relevant since Fernando probably tampered with the evidence to protect "Donny." But I have no evidence he did that yet.

"Please save those kinds of questions for a break or after the trial." The Judge told Lucias. "Speaking of which, are there any more questions for the witness?" The Judge asked both Lucias and Martha.

"Of course it makes sense," Martha said. "But, here's the question: If the cops showed up fifteen minutes after being called, where was Mr. Machino when they arrived?"

"AT THE FRIGGIN' CRIME SCENE!" Fernando yelled, finally snapping. "YOU WANNA KNOW MORE!? ASK HIM!" Fernando marched off into backstage, pushing aside anyone in the way with fury.

"Ok then..." The Judge said. "The next witness?"

That is very odd.
"Your Honor, I'd like to point out something really quick. He said Mr. Machino was at the crime scene when the police arrived fifteen minutes after the murder. Now, why would someone who just killed his wife and his children stay for fifteen minutes? It doesn't make sense," Martha said.

"Whelp, that's my cue-- ah, remind me if I forget to put word in for a dock in Fernando's pay, for that outburst of his." Lucias said as nonchalant as ever. "Anyways, you want answers, Miss Martha? Why not call the defendant up himself? Otherwise, I have more witnesses to call-- it's assuming the judge will allow the defendant to speak, of course."

Martha gulped involuntarily. Something about calling Al Machino up made her uneasy. What if he confessed? What if he screwed up and Martha would have to demolish her own case? What if...? But she pushed those thoughts out of her mind. I know I can trust him, she thought. It was up to the judge to decide whether Al could take the stand then.

The Judge nodded. "You may call him up if you think it would help you case. But if you change you mind, we still need a new witness."

Do I let the prosecution call Don first, or do I call Al first? To be honest, I never did get to hear his side of the story...
"Then the defense calls Al Machino to the stand," Martha said.

Al came out from the Prosecutor's lounge. He made his way up to the witness' stand. He was ready to testify. He wanted justice.

Lucias was waiting with interest as Al came out, a sense of righteousness about him. 'What a shame.'
"Yo dude. You calmed down finally?" He spoke. "Anyways, it's time for business... Name and occupation, please"

The persistent callings from the hyper journalist couldn't go unnoticed by the red-haired woman. She looked in the direction of Thib with a raised eyebrow and returned his loud calls with a simple and short, "Hello..."

Lucias was sorting a few things around his bench, and when he was finally ready, he made his comment.
"K', Al, I want you to testify to the court about that night, the night of the murder... lessee, you can start off by telling us exactly what happened leading up to the moment. Can you do that?"

Martha relaxed a little. There probably wouldn't be too many things contradictory about the events leading up to the murder.

The redhead noticed the defense attorney relax and shakes her head, for God knows what ugliness may throw itself in the young attorney's face.

"Tch, sorry, I had assumed you had been listening in to the case thus far... it IS your case, ya know." Lucias said, acting as only what could be called unimpressed. If this was a trick to play in an attempt to gain credibility, Lucias wasn't gonna let it slide. Clearing his throat, he started over. "Would you please tell us about what occurred on the day of March 12, leading up until 8:10 P.M., the time of the murder."

Thib became slightly confused at being addressed by 2 people at once, especially because the one he had originally been trying to talk to hadn't really given him an answer worth speaking of.
"I'm, uh, not sure we've met... I mean, it's possible, but..." giving up, he turned to the red haired woman again.
"You never really gave me an answer..." he muttered timidly.
He turned back to the man. "I'm, uh, sorry. We might have met, but I, uh, probably forgot. Uh, sorry."

"March 12th...." Al looked at Don, who glared at him. "That's.... That's self-incrimination, isn't it?" Al asked, clearly attempting to use the 5th Amendment.

"That depends dude. If you did or were doing anything before the time of the murder that could hurt your case, then it is self-incrimination, but if it's not anything serious, then you must testify." Lucais said. He kept his serious face up as he finished, "I mean, you can't expect the court to allow the 5th for any random Joe just because he had been doing something, shall we say, unprofessional at that time?"

"What time was Ms. Fey's trial on last night?" Al asked, trying to formulate his response. He wanted to use his 5th Amendment right, but what would he think? Is that what he wants? Oh, the pressure! His eyes darted over to Don, whose gaze worried him. He started to sweat..

Thib was flustered by the woman's slightly spacey demeanor. "Um... I think I asked what you thought of the case... well, I'm pretty sure I did..."
He was distracted from the trail for the moment.

The redheaded woman gave an indecipherable look towards Vérité, then her eyebrows knitted together. "I was a bit busy on my own thoughts. What was it you asked about the case?" she asked of Thib, trying to lessen the cold demeanor that, by all appearances, seemed to be a natural trait.
