I'm sure some of us here know what I'm talking about. Some of us have waited over a month to get trials approved, but we haven't even got one little response from Anders. Over a month ago, he said after his finals were done(which, he claimed, would be about a week from then), he'd evaluate cases that were sent to him. So why hasn't that happened?

Probably because of the Docket being full. But looking at the active trials, only 3 of them are really active right now; one hasn't had a post in over a week, and two haven't had new stuff in over a month.

Add to this people who don't read the rules and are just plain rude,in some cases, and you've got quite a mess.

Just sayin'. Yanni Yogi I'm getting rather disillusioned with the whole RP forum thing.

And what do you propose we do? Frankly, there's little point in complaining if you have no ideal solution you wish to incorporate in the original's stead.
That said, your avatar's hilarious.

Well, the main thing I suppose I can propose is that a couple of mods for the RP area could be appointed, to make sure rules are followed and that everyone gets a fair chance. It doesn't seem like a moderator or admin has even touched the board in ages. A bunch of thread by people who don't read the rules sprang up some time ago, and yet they have not been locked. This shows that we need at least one dedicated moderator for the board.

If you need the attention of a mod you can always PM one of us to come have a look. It's a big forum and we don't always notice everything.

If it's just mod presense that's a problem that can easily be fixed with closer attention on our part.

I'll take most of the fall for this one. I'd basically unofficially taken upon the responsibility of keeping the trials section moving, and, as people have probably noticed, my presence on the forums has been minimal at best, non-existent at worst for about a month. A combination of factors has kinda killed me, so I'm really sorry about that.

As for the trials, Most of them have been moving fairly slowly, and a lot of that is the way these are being run right now. One person being away from a trial for some time can cause things to grind to a halt. That said, the only alternative so far is organizing a meeting time beforehand and doing things out in "bursts." I don't really like this method any better, since trying to manage people's schedules like that creates an added difficulty, and sometimes unforseen circumstances can lead to major problems (see also: LoG's trial attempts on the old forums, which nearly drove him to give up on the trials altogether).

I'm making a conscious effort to be here more than I have been, so hopefully that part won't be much of an issue anymore. Do keep in mind, though, that the docket already has a lot on it, so even at this point approving a trial still won't guarantee that you'll be allowed to set things up quickly. A way to help this would be to extend the number of active trials...which I'll discuss with the other staffers.

Most of the trials are fairly active anyway, the fact that this is a message board means that things have to go in fits and starts because people live all over the world :)

Bad brother! Bad! :ka-whip:

I wish I could suggest a more effective way of conducting the trials themselves, but like Anders said, it all depends on people being around and active enough to participate. It's not easy to organize a bunch of people from different time zones and schedules.
