6/7 of this board is saying "leik, phoenix will get his badge back and become the main character again" or "back with le Feys!" and all that. I've had enough of it. Let me say it for the 1/7:

It's Apollo's game now. Phoenix should not be playable again. The Fey's story has ended. No major old characters should return.

Really. Having Maya would be pure fanservice and 100% unnecessary.

Now, I know I'll get flamed for this, but I'm simply saying what is likely. I respect your opinion, but there really is no need to go on about it. Let's leave the past behind us, okay?

...and believe it or not, I'm not just saying "moar Apollo" because I want moar Machi.

In a way, I agree with you. Yes, even though my fangame is one of these types, I'm making it because I want to make it ifferent to where the actual series is going, and it's simply more fun to make that way. (Also, the plot I have thought out only works with two lawyers :godot:

)

I like the way the series is going as it is. As long as Apollo gets some character, you find out more about the Gramyres, and Klavier... Goes away... It'll be fabulous.

We know nothing about GS5. So we can't make statements like that. And Phoenix was arguably the 'main' character of game 4. (Maybe not the best idea, but it was what the writers did.)

If it's Apollo's game, why is it a 'threat' to him for Maya to make a cameo, anyway?

(How many threads are we going to have with variations on the same 'argument' anyway? And why is this always turned into some kind of 'all or nothing' turf war when we should be able to reach something reasonable for both characters? Not that the writers will pay attention to us anyway, but...)

I wholeheartedly agree. I was annoyed with Apollo Justice becoming Phoenix Wright 4 and want GS5 to be ALL Apollo. Phoenix as a helper? Sure, I'm fine with that. Maya/Pearl/Miles/Franziska/Anyone else making cameos? All right with me, even if they're, like, defendants or something. Having Phoenix take over again and having all the old characters come back? Not cool.

Anyway, nicely stated. :edgy:

We can't claim that it's "anyone's game" until the characters for GS5 are confirmed. For all we know, they could decide to get rid of everyone and start anew with an entirely new cast. I'm not saying that they would, but the possibility is there.

I know you aimed this partially at me, but I do want to know what happened to the Feys. And also, I think now Phoenix has lost his badge, he shouldn't have it back; it it whoever is the main character's story.

but a minor cameo from Phoenix talking about what happened to Pearl and Maya would be nice.

People could say the exact same with Gyakuten Kenji, in fairness. Or the ending to 3-5. Both purely fanservice, but fanservice isn't all that bad at times. Maya's my favourite character, and I'd definately love to see her back but I don't want her to brought back in a way that she's just randomly thrown into the mix for shits and giggles.

back for T&T, but they knew something like that would make people happy, so they did it. Phoenix's appearance in AA4 is similar.

I wouldn't consider it fanservice anyway. If Capcom seriously bowed to fan pressure then they would never have moved on from the Phoenix Wright arc in the first place. The fact that Apollo is the new protagonist is proof enough that they're prepared to do their own thing. If any more PW characters make an appearance in AA5 it'll be because Capcom want them to.

I think it could go either way. We might see a game which is focussed entirely on Apollo and the new cast, or we could see two or three more PW characters make a return.

Personally, I see no reason why some of the old characters shouldn't come back. Who cares if Apollo is at the helm? It's still an Ace Attorney game and they're still Ace Attorney characters.

People could argue either way. I, personally, think that they should work together in court, with Phoenix as the defense's aid and Apollo as the actual attorney. Every so often the could switch places, maybe. See topic named, 'Defense Tag Team?'.

Well, that's my two cents. All in all, the name is Gyakuten Saiban 5, not Apollo Justice 2 or Phoenix Wright 4.

In response to your to-the-point title: Not necessarily, and being fans, the appropriate response to any major change to status quo is to complain. Just ask the Transformers fandom about Optimus Primal, PokeFormers, and flames on Optimus Prime! XD But, seriously, if it is his game, Capcom won't see any of my money. I came late to the party, so I know they're seeing none of it on the Phoenix arc, and if they're lucky I might get Apollo new, just to see in person how badly Phoenix makes out. It's like witnessing a train wreck, you know? You don't want to watch, you know it'll be bad, but you just can't look away... <_<
