Shiryuu looks very similar to Tigre in my opinion, but given one of his kanji means wolf, I'd say they are aiming for another animal-like character. Shiina is foreign according to Japanesegirl and is looking very attractive so far, she looks like the quiet type. Perhaps these two will have a similar sort of relationship as Tigre and Viola.

I guess from his looks he looks like one of those private investigators that come in to make the real cops and detectives look bad. He seems like he might care abou appearance more than actually solving a case (probably only in it for fame and money).
I agree that his companion looks like the quiet type. If she is foreign I wonder if they'll go for American again like they did with the Karumas and Garyuus (von Karmas and Gavins). Also, I wonder if they'll go with German as her ethnicity in the American version. It seems as is if that trope is over used in these games. I hope they pick another European country (there are so many to choose from). For that matter in the Japanese version she could be from Europe too. Not all foreigners are American.

He has to be one of the cocky and mean but terribly attractive guys, there's no other way with that character design. The girl does indeed look like the quiet type. I bet she's stunningly pretty, but very secretive. Maybe even Ice Queen-y. They make a good pair. D:

Maybe... Maybe they're going to be Gumshoe's rival? They are investigators after all... Actually...
Warning, crazy theory ahead!
I think that they will become useful to Edgeworth, and find more clues than Gumshoe ever could. Gumshoe, depressed and feeling useless, quits as Edgeworth's partner. However, he sees something that makes him suspicious and leaves Edgeworth a note about it. Edgeworth ignores it for a while but eventually decides to investigate. He goes and finds Gumshoe, and there's some heartwarming scene where Edgeworth convinces him that he is useful. Together they investigate the pair and find out that they are actually the murders in the last case. Perhaps the investigation of them carries over for more than one case, and sometimes seems fruitless, but everything comes together in the end to convict them of some terrible crime.... and Gumshoe gets a raise. (Just had to add that...)

wolfie ( my nickname for him cause im to lazy to learn his real name) looks like the over self confident (and lucky) unhonest rich asshole type who only thinks about himself who opposite to gumshoe the very honest sweet poor guy who tries his hardest for others but doesn't have the best of luck
quite girl kinda gives of the cold indifferent and overly calm vibe why key girl kinds gives off the cheerful overly curios and michevous vibe
but again im just making assumption based of picture it's just a guestiment
i also think there going to end up being the killers in something though they just give of that genaric villian feel

The kanji in Shiryuu (土龍) are the kanji for "earth" and "dragon" (interestingly, the same kanji for dragon as is in both Ryuuichi Naruhodo and Kaminogi Souryuu's name, rather than the more common 竜). Those two kanji (土龍) written together, though, mean "mole" ("mogura") as in the animal.

I'm guessing that the reason Rou hates prosecutors is because he works hard to get criminals, but if the prosecutor doesn't do their job well enough the guy can still go free--maybe an important criminal got away because of shoddy prosecution work? Though I do hope there's more to it than that.
I find it interesting that they describe Rou and Shiina as having a "strong bond of trust" in the same way Gumshoe describes himself and Edgeworth. Bets on if they're sleeping together?

Ah, my bad. An easy mistake to make.
That certainly makses the pronunciation make sense, however. 士龍 (Shiryuu) = gentleman dragon.

I would say that odds are high that Rou and Shiina are sleeping together. I'm sure the game won't come out and say it explicitly, but I think it will be heavily implied (think Redd White and April May--they shared the Hotel room together, so don't tell me they didn't use it for all its worth).

I think this could happen: Makoto will be Edgy`s rival, Shiryuu will be Gumshoe`s rival and finally Shiina will be mikumo`s rival. That`s the best I could think about
