Where did we see Shouta Matsuda? I couldn't see him. Is he the inspiration for the new investigator?
Speaking of the investigator, he looks like a Final fantasy character. That, or a gothic pimp. The girl looks nice though.

These two look interesting, although perhaps the guy looks a bit too much like Tigre. One thing though, was the only information in this issue about the two characters? Nothing about the gameplay or release date?

He is an actor. I think that he will appear for Gyakuten Kenji's TV commercial.

Only slight information became clear today.
Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, other information will become clear.

Just imagine Edgeworth vs This Guy O_O That WILL be awesome/epic/whatever ! Gosh, I can't wait anymore xD

Thank you soooo much JapaneseGIRL ! :keiko:

By the way, I'm sure we won't have any 'special edition' in the US, will we ?... :sadshoe:

Just kidding, once will be enough :gant:

Perhaps, シーナ(Shiina)'s English spelling is "Sheena".
Because her name is Katakana, she will not be a Japanese.

I was wondering about that as well. ^_^

Haha. They were wise to fear me. XD

It is far away though. *sighs* And I'll be back from Japan by then. I guess it'll be Play-Asia importation for me.

Oh, that means you can actually read Japanese ?
You're sooooo lucky ! :adrian: (I do too, but a VERY, VERY little ^^")
As far as I'm concerned (+ everyone who don't speak Japanese), I'll have to wait for the English localization for ages... ;_;
I really hope it will be released in the US BEFORE Christmas, and that Play-Asia will have it in stock and send it soon enough, so as not to miss Christmas 2009...
If that's not the case... well, we'll have to use brutal force with Capcom localization team... can I count on your help crouton ? :uramidn: (OK, this is the last time I use this *wful joke xD It's just that this smiley goes suits it perfectly ^^)

Oh, I can't wait for the day I'll see the little yellowish envelope in my mailbox, the little yellowish envelope from Play-Asia, which travelled from China way to France, the little yellowish envelope, the most wonderful in the world, with Gyakuten Kenji inside... :acro:
(*Important note to everybody : this man is going mad, please BEWARE, YOU GOT THAT ?! :godot: You might even die if you come too close, yeah, for real.)

Oh, and I really want to thank JapaneseGIRL once again for providing us with the news !
Really, thank you very much ! :gant:

By the way, all of you who want to read it, here is the news I wrote about Gyakuten Kenji.

HOLY CRAP IT'S FUUJIN AND RAIJIN LAWL

Epic win. These characters look awesome.

And by Sheena not having a Hiragana name and no surname, for all we know she could be related to someone we know. (From the result of some little blue magician from a previous game)

EDIT: HOLY SHIT JUST NOTICED SOMETHING ELSE

IF THEY'RE INTERNATIONAL INVESTIGATORS, DOES THIS MEAN THAT WE'LL BE GOING TO EUROPE?! (Airplane case and stuff)

This ties in with the whole "Young Ema returning in game but still in Europe in terms of timeline" part!

I hope they get plenty of the special editions becuase my husband said I could order one. I wonder what the special edition will have in it?

As someone else said earlier, I doubt we'll get a special edition here. We didn't get the Apollo Justice Special edition like Japan got. Here's to hoping that Capcom of America (and Europe and Australia to be fair to our other friends) have wised up since the last game was released.

Moar stuff that me and my friends realized...

Sheena has Silver hair. Who else do we know that has Silver-ish hair as well?

The von Karmas.

Plus, the fact that Sheena has a Katakana name and no surname could possibly mean that the name 'Sheena' is actually just a bodyguard alias (Since she's Rou's assistant and all).

Can you say 'Mysterious older von Karma sister'?

Another thing, something else to back up the 'Edgeworth going to another country' thing, remember the screenshot of the 'Mirror House' crime scene we saw?

Well, I'm pretty sure that Japan doesn't have carnivals like America does, nor Mirror houses, so I'm pretty sure that that case takes place outside of Japan. (Possibly America, since in the Japanese version that's where Ema went to study and the country the von Karmas and Gavins came from.)

I can read some Japanese. Mostly Hiragana and Katakana, really. ^_^;; And I know a few kanji. I've struggled through a few Japanese RPG's, so I'm confident that I can get through Kenji when it comes out. Plus, I'm in Japan right now, learning Japanese, so that can only help! :edgy:

Hehe, sure. I'll help you out! You can count on me! :butzthumbs:

You're lucky. ^_^;; I wish that I was going to be here in May. ;_; Oh well. (And I don't think you need the "tsu" there in "ラッキー." Most of the time I just see it as ラキ. But, I could be wrong.)

Actually, they do have amusement parks here. And near the Ueno Zoo here, there is a little carnival-type thing so... I don't think it necessarily means that the case is going to be overseas. ^_^;;

I know they have amusement parks in Japan, it's just that that Mirror house doesn't look Japanese to me... (They'd probably make the sign in Japanese if it were in Japan and stuff. Also, that police car.)

And well, I hope they don't blow us off the overseas case thing by bringing Ema back to Japan... That would be a bummer.

Oh thank you JapaneseGIRL for the scans very much!

Takuya - I was thinking she could be a Von Karma as well. She has a matching hairstyle and her last name is missing... Though she looks a little young.

Crouton - Ah, did I miss something? When did you move to Japan? Last I remember you were thinking of moving there...

I love the new characters, they're all fucking sexy~

I feel like a broken record, but with the final release date, I can make it more certain. Janet Hsu said it takes 6 months to localise the game. Possibly it will be out by early or mid December, in hopeful thinking that is. It the localisation team hurries and gets their heartset on a Christmas release, it just might happen!

I'd say for now, to not get our hopes up and expect a January release, maybe February.

Lol, looks like I went to the wrong places the last time I went to Japan... Didn't know Police cars in Japan looked like that too. (Come to think of it, I never actually saw one on the streets) o_O

But still, I'm pretty sure that Edgeworth will have at least one case or part of the main story outside Japan, since he takes and airplane in the second case, and, well, it would be pretty retarded if Edgeworth didn't get to his destination or if it were just one of those 'Plane ride to nowhere' things.

Watch it be a plane ride to Japan. Yeah, sorry, the first case was his office in like... Osaka. No, now it's his office in Tokyo. He happens to like planes.

It's best to learn some specific kanji terms that go with the genre. 密室、 死亡推定時刻、死後解剖、死後硬直、現場、凶器、証人、証言, etc. Some of these words won't ever come up in a normal study (I'm actually studying Japanese because I'm interested in Japanese detective literature, so these words were priority for me XD)

While I wouldn't mind an international adventure, I doubt it. Edgeworth (and Gumshoe) don't have jurisdiction in other countries, right? They could hardly build a case to prosecute somebody in the Netherlands for example... (with the plane being different as it's mid-air)

Ah, that reminds me of the Furuhata Ninzaburou episode in the plane :3

argh, this is bad news for me. If the Japanese version is out that much earlier than the english language one, there'll be spoilers becoming common knowledge all over the site... I'm not sure if I'm strong willed enough to avoid them. It certainly took away some of enjoyment of AJ.

Let's do some mathematics, shall we ? ^^
Hum... if I'm correct, that would mean the game is due to be released on November 28th.
Of course, that will undoubtly not be the case, but it gives us some clues to when the game might be out. It would be early december, if the translation team starts to work straight away, and does not wait 2 months after the game is released in Japan...

But maybe they will start working on it as soon as the development is over. Since the game's development won't go on until May, the 27th at 11.59PM (they will probably stop it a few weeks before the actual release), we can hope the translation team starts translating it as soon as possible after that. *pray fervently*

I agree. I was astonished when I saw the amount of English signs and stuff like that in Japan O_O
In some places, they are even more numerous than what you would find in France :adrian:

Well, apparently in that case, Edgeworth is the only one on the plane when it's in the air. (When the murder occurs.) From the pictures, the actual investigation actually happens on the ground. And being that you have to fly to get to the other islands in Japan, it's probably most likely that the case takes place in Japan. ^_^;;

Oh yeah, I recognize a lot of kanji that has to do with the genre as well. I had been taking "informal" classes in the USA, and one of the days I asked the teacher to go over words that have to do with law and such. ^_^ And yeah, I doubt the whole international adventure as well. It'll probably all be in Japan, at least I think.

:edgy:

I studied English by Ace Attorney.

でもあなたは英語が上手でしょう。わたしは二年生なのに、分からないことがまだたくさんあります。「逆転裁判」に使われてる日本語がときに本当に難しいと思います。

For me it's a neverending cycle: My goal is to read Japanese detective literature, and I read Japanese detective manga / watch detective drama / play Gyakuten Saiban as study material. So I read Japanese detectives to read Japanese detectives ~_~

All right! Thanks a lot!

So it looks like these two are definitely from the case with the Concert/Stadium thing. Edit: Scratch that. They look like they're in some sort of stadium, but it doesn't look much like the one in the concept art (though it's entirely possible that they changed the design or we're seeing a different part of it). So I'm not sure.

I'm personally very interested in what we learn about the Logic System on the other page. Anyone want to get to work on translating that, pretty please? :edgy:

Thanks so much for putting these up. The new characters look great!
Sheena's design reminds me of Hal Lidner from the Death Note series...
I can't wait to see what connections (if any) these two have to the PW/AJ characters!

It is not easy to read. It might be wrong in the translation. I'm sorry.
