You can post random facts about anything! Funny Laws, wierd tidbits of info, or even random things about yourself!

I'll start: IN Alaska, Kangaroos are not allowed in barber shops at any time.

The maximum apparent speed you can reach is the speed of light.

So if you were a photon going at the speed of light and another photon was approaching you head-on at the speed of light, that photon would still appear to be going at the speed of light, not twice the speed of light.

LOL I thought everyone did that...

I've got a couple;

Honey is the only food in the world that will never go bad/mouldy.

When the male anglerfish finds a female, he latches onto her with his teeth. He starts to disappear until only his balls are hanging off the female, supplying her with his juices. Some female anglerfish have been found with numerous male danglies hanging off their sides.

Owl's neck have 14 vertebrae to allow their head to turn 270 degrees.

If the male nine-banded armadillo were human, its penis would be 4 feet long.

........

I cheated. I got the last 3 from a QI book.

- Mario was originally called "Jumpman" but had his name changed to Mario based on Nintendos' former landlord that had the name Mario.

- On the Japanese Pokemon anime, Ash is "Satoshi" and Gary is "Shigeru" based on Satoshi Tajiri (the creator of Pokemon) and his mentor Shigeru Miyamoto.

- The two screened Game and Watch resembles a Nintendo DS.

We learned at Drivers Ed that if you give a person roadrage, and you both stop at a red light and he's staring at you in fury, you're supposed to roll down the window and bark at him.
It distracts them from the roadrage.

Replace him with "her" when neccesary.

In 6th grade, I wrote a book with over 10,000 strange facts in it.
Bring it on.
[wrote meaning I collected and sorted
not like, found out myself XD]

-An average pencil can draw a line 35 miles long
- Kangaroos can't walk backwards
- A female farret can die if she goes into heat and can't find a mate
- A cockroach can live up to 9 days with its head cut off.
- A pregnant goldfish is called a twit.
- The Chinese made their roofs curved because they believed that evil spirits travel in a straight line, so they confuse them with the curves
- Every continent has a city called Rome, except Antarctica.
- Alcohol beverages have all 13 minerals necessary for human life
- A person age 75 will have slept 23 years [if they sleep properly]
- Banana trees are not really considered trees, just giant herb plants.
- Women blink twice as much as men do.
- The pound key symbol # is called an octothorpe
- Donald Duck's middle name is Fauntleroy.

Those were just the intresting ones on the first page.
So like, 1/3 of the first page maybe?

Here's a couple of "stupid laws" from my state:

:eh?: When you come into town you must blow your car horn to warn horses you're coming.

:eh?: When 2 trains meet at a passing track neither can proceed until one is past the other (a law which the railroads break here every day).

And from my town:

:zenitora: No household may harbor more than 5 dogs or cats and 1 litter of 5 puppies or kittens, or a combo of 8 dogs and cats.
How the fuck are you gonna control the # of pups or kittens in a litter? And if you have 6 do you drown the 5th? Stupid asshole city council.

Yes this ordnance bit me a few years ago thanks to the BITCH of a neighbor next to me.

Ok now I want to type out the full paragraph;

Spoiler: Funniest bit in bold...
Both penises are very brittle and relatively long; at just over a centimetre in length, they are often longer than the earwig itself. Two gentlemen at Tokyo Metropolitan University discovered this when one of them playfully pinched a male earwig's rear end during the act of sexual intercourse. It's penis snapped off inside the female, but miraculously produced a back up.

Random fact about the theatre:
Plays in ancient times used to be a chorus who sang song in honor of the greek god of wine. This all changed when a man named Thespis steped out from the chorus and engaged in dialogue with them, making him the very first actor.

Actually that's more of a romanticized legend than anything grounded.

Sources establishing him as the first person to alter western theater in such ways were from Aristotle and actual theatrical performances themselves-- the former living at least a few centuries after the supposed events.
