Minny was out of breath when the match had finished, but she had won. Although she was confident in herself, she was a little amazed that she had been able to defeat Kory. "Heh.. he put up a good fight." she said as she walked back to her seat.

"Er, it seems I overstayed my welcome. Shrum, Sayuka, if you will excuse me." He said, leaping out of the chair and to the window. Making sure to open this one, he made a leap from the third story, his feet catching on a pair of his mirrors that dropped from his coat. They acted as footholds and he jumped from them, slowing his descent enough to land safely on the ground 30 feet below. The mirrors did not smash into the ground and break, however, but levitated through the air after their owner, catching up to him as he rushed down the streets back to the arena.
"CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAAAAP!! Punctuality was never my forte, but this is just not RIGHT!!" He shouted at himself, too panicked to think the words. Remembering he had them still following through the air, he snatched at one of his mirrors and returned it to his coat's folds at a corner before dashing down the street towards the entrance of the stadium.
By the time he reached the door, he had his second mirror put away as well.
Panting a bit as he opened the door, he made for the arena promptly. "H-here's hoping this goes well..."

Rygar himself was already waiting for Hubris in the arena, diskarmor ready and everything. He still felt some of the bruises left behind from his battle with Shrum... but shouldn't be enough to slow him down badly.

"I'm sorry... I'm so late... I was... out and about..." He said between breaths. "*sigh* Right, well, while my heart is still racing, shall we get ready? I wanted to try something for my first match... to be fair..."
Grabbing something in the sleeves of his trench coat, he rolled the sleeves up to reveal a sort of leather belt-chain around his arms. He then removed something else from his back-- two mirrors, one round, the other sharp and diamond shaped ((think the elongated sideways square, not the stone)). He affixed them onto the belts, until what he had was the round mirror facing outwards on the back of his left arm, the sharp facing outward on his right. Flexing his arms a bit and making sure they wouldn't go anywhere, he got into a fighters stance with round held out like a shield, sharp like a blade.
"Whenever you are ready, com-pad-re." He said, extending his last word sinisterly.

"BEGIN!" Komugi shouted, and then the bell rang, signifying the beginning of the match. Rygar wasted no time, and launched out his diskarmor like a rocket at Hubris to start this battle off...

He raised the left mirror up to take the impact. When it hit, rather than shatter, it let out a keening sound for a split second, then sent the diskarmor haphazardly flying back the way it came.
"You'll have to do better than that, amigo!" He jeered, walking slowly towards Rygar, while maintaining distance. "Normal tactics won't work on these, so don't expect them to break any time soon!"
Hubris, rather than attacking immediatly, kept his guard up, and prepared to counter the next blow as he closed the gap between them step by step.

That set of eyes watched. Watched as the shadow followed Gene into a secluded portion of the staduim...
"Mumyo Hokunan Jingeki Ougi... TENCHU GEKI SATSU."
Orochi heard this technique in his mind. He was right. That man was here and here to settle his score with Orochi himself. He knew he was of the Kohryu blood, but... Why did he choose a tournament and did he make a wrong turn on the way?
???: Hmm... Is this the man who may defeat my son...?
The gray gi held in the muscular body. Black belt was wrapped around his waist. A single eyepatch was worn over his right eye. Yet when he was in the dark, you could see that red eye. The hair on the other hand was seemingly slicked back although it was free, leaving no bangs to hang in the front. Bandages covered his forearms to his hands and his ankles. He walked barefoot. Blood dripped from his hands. A beating heart in his right. However... this wouldn't happen out of Gene's mind. Should it deceive Gene into complete unconsciousness for a few minutes, he knew it made this certain. He doesn't stand a chance against Orochi should be get serious.
His motive to be here must be related to Orochi, and thus he would make his way, asking if people saw a punk with the same color hair. Some kid pointed out after ranting on how cool he was. The man stuck out like a sore thumb.
???: My delinquent son.
"My reckless and dangerous old man."
The two looked at each other as if they were rivals. One could see the sparks flying.
"After I dispose of that Gene character, you're next. I will remain the strongest."
???: I just walked by some possibly tough fighter. Doesn't look like he'd be much. I'd be a better replacement for you.
"... If that's so, you'd better convince him to stand down. Hell, give us a match. I'll be betting on you."
???: I'll do just that. And they still gamble on fights?
"Occasionally."
???: Interesting. I should watch your new-fangled tv fights or whatever.
"Just find Gene, dammit. Go away."

"Eh!" Rygar regained control of his diskarmor after Hubris blocked the attack... for a moment, he lost control of his weapon, which was odd... Rygar usually had it under control the entire time. Something was very strange about that mirror...
"...very curious." He said to himself... to test that thing again, he shot the diskarmor out at Hubris once more! Perhaps with another shot, he could better observe this new twist.
Gene meanwhile, saw what he thought was his heart being torn completely out from his chest, falling to the floor in a bleeding heap as a pool of blood oozed out from under him... looking up at a mysterious man who held his heart out over his sight. And then his vision faded... he snapped back awake just then, and examined himself...
...he was whole. Alive. As in not-dead-yet. Just to check, he put his hand over his heart... yeah, it was still there.
...what was that? He felt that ominously dark presence come near then walk by, then that strange vision... that was enough to startle Gene.
It must have been a message, he thought... a warning. He wasn't too sure as to what, however... nor did he know who that person was.
He smiled to himself... "Interesting."

I see... He thought, whatever that mirror is, I don't suppose I can use my diskarmor on it, can I. I'll have to either rely purely on melee attacks, or to find ways to get around his defenses.

He pulled back slightly, missing actually hitting the diskarmor, only sending the glass of his blade-mirror directed at it for a split second. Before he finished the momentum, a strong surge shot from the mirror, shoving the armor like a strong push as he reflected the very air. After that, his arm kept going and he stumbled a bit, but kept his balance as he raised his left arm up.

With a smirk, Gene got into a fighting pose, "Heh. Fight Orochi, eh? That kid with the enormous power who's done a lot of asskicking so far?
You seem to know he'll win, doncha, old man? Heh, alright. I'll play your game. Just don't think I'll go easy on you."
Rygar saw his chance to close in... or thought he did, anyway. He rushed into Hubris and swung a low kick into his opponent's lower leg, then tried to go for a punch... he figured he'd see if Hubris could find ways to counter his melee attacks as well as his diskarmor shots.
This could be interesting, Rygar then thought.

Immediately, he sent his right arm back to take the fall, but seeing the punch coming his way, he brought his left arm up to intercept,and let his right go into a bracing position.
His round mirror took the punch as hit sharp emanated a push towards the ground, keeping him from landing on the ground as his legs re-braced against the ground. He felt the impact of the punch, but let the mirror work it's charm, sending an equal force back up Rygar's arm as it connected.
"That's gotta hurt." He joked as he let the force of the impact on the mirror spin him around, using the momentum to get a distance away and jump back to his feet.

...which means if I mess up on the chance I happen to land another blow on it, it'll dramatically turn the tides of this whole match.
Rygar switched diskarmors, and then grabbed a second one... he was now using the Hades and Heavenly diskarmors, both at the same time, one wrapped around each arm! A very risky move for him, especially in these given circumstances.
Maybe I'll try mixing up my strategy with him... With that, Rygar began to swing the diskarmors around, launching and swinging both at Hubris this time... one was aimed at his legs, and the second one was trying to go at him from the side that looked more vulnerable to him.

Believing it to be not worth it to fight him then, he turned around.
???: I'll make sure. That only the worthiest of opponents fights a Kohryu.
Throwing the same image again at Gene, he walked away. And to Orochi's side. Orochi who threw a hotdog his way, didn't even look at him. His smirk was enough.
???: You eat this?
"Don't bitch at me. Just eat it, it even has the stuff you like."
???: Fair enough....
The two watched silently as he saw the new match with Orochi. The two talked old times while commenting on the fighting styles of those in the match.

Right as the second diskarmor hit the mirrors, Hubris braced himself and let loose a burst from their glassy surfaces, the air rippling as they practically reflected the very space in front of them. The resulting boost rebounded the diskarmor even more wildly in the direction it came from. Hubris got himself situated to spring from one knee, waiting to see what happened to Rygar as his own weapon swung wildly back around him.

"Rrrrrgh, this is why I hate dealing with those stupid Kohryu," she grumbled, "They always ruin EVERYTHING!! I will announce this match, but only after the current one."
"Fine fine, whatever," Gene shrugged, "You just do your job, lady."
"Meh."
"Uwaah!" Rygar watched as the Heavenly came right back at him. Fortunately, he didn't have the spike activated, but still, when it hit, it zapped him hard with the impact, electricity raking his body as he went flying backwards for a moment... he landed on his back, but quickly got back up... already you could smell burning flesh in the air.
"Damn..." he grunted, "I don't have a whole lot I can fight against him with. But I must try!" He then leapt at Hubris again, this time swinging both diskarmors downwards, using both hands this time as he gripped the chains and used as much strength as he could... Perhaps... if I apply enough strength... and at this angle, maybe it won't hit me? Only one way to find out!

Rygar admitted in his mind that he wasn't all that great a martial artist... since where he came from, martial arts didn't exactly exist... though he knew hand-to-hand combat.
I think my lack of martial arts is going to be my biggest downfall, here... He thought.

He managed to get the first series of blows with the mirrors, repelling them like a regular shield, but the heavy kick to the side he didn't get in time, and was sent sprawling. He coughed a bit, and felt his ribs to check that they weren't shattered.
"Heheh... that hurt. About time." He said, standing up right, then running to Rygar's side. He started to pull a series of spinning slices and quick burst-reflections from his mirrors, hoping to push Rygar back enough between the blade and the psychic shoves.

Knew Orochi enough. Enough to know that he had indeed become stronger, possibly stronger than himself. Mostly because he couldn't sense the aura he had. Perhaps Orochi knew to conceal the killer instinct until the time was right. Which is why he himself had decided to follow suit, allowing no other fighter to know who they were.

He tried to gain some distance while grimacing in pain from his failed attack, but only got a few steps away when he got back into a defensive pose.
"You should try something new with those big yo-yo's of yours, compadre." He shouted. "You won't get more than a few glancing blows at this rate."

He adopted a grin and removed the sharp edged mirror from where it was held into place. "...I will be using that time to beat the living stuffing out of you. Get ready!"
He threw the mirror and it spun like a saw blade, zooming out and past Rygar before arcing around and returning the way it came like some bizarre boomerang, aimed at his back.

He had called it quick. The thing had only just tapped his leg, and that alone had made him stumble a bit. He couldn't have imagined how much pain he would have been in if the chain hadn't been arrested in place.
"I hope I didn't deceive you on what my skills included, amigo." Hubris said, kneeling to rub his shin. "It's always fun to leave your allies and enemies guessing."
He looked at the current state of events, before getting back up and creating some distance between the two of them.
"Seems like we are down one weapon each, for the moment." He said, jumping in place a few times to get the soreness out. Removing the second mirror, he held it by the edge, and brandish it like you would expect a club to be. He stood in place again, rather than charging, and awaited the next attack.

...maybe it was time to summon the guardians within the armors? But then he might reflect those back on him too... what if those mirrors could reflect magic? It would be rather nasty to take Cerberus's own flames, or be on the receiving end of Taros's lightning... And getting impaled by Siren's own ice shards wouldn't be all that pleasing either.
Not to mention he could reflect the force of his own physical blows too. It was leaving Rygar in quite a quandary.
But then he had a thought: What if... yes, maybe he'd have more of a chance. It was finding a good opening that was going to be the hard part. He just had to be cautious.
Rygar then got into a defensive stance himself this time, deciding remaining on the offensive wouldn't be all that grand... he was going to observe his opponent more this time.

Still brandishing the disk-mirror in front of him, Hubris called, "SO! What are you planning now? We can't finish a match if we both try and defend against each other! Is it finally down to the... what's the name of it?" His face was saying that he couldn't remember the term he was searching for, but his voice was holding back excitement that told otherwise. Still half stuck in the ground, his blade mirror glinted in the light, a faint stream of light crossing Rygar's face as things gently shifted ((I am assuming we are outside-ish, so sunlight can get through. If not, it's light from the overhead. Whichever works. XD))
"Two fighters, standing across from each other at the field of battle. Neither move, else they incite the wrath of the other.First to move loses, first to move wins. Who will be the first before the first? What is this, where tension rises so high? A... Mexican Standoff?"
A tumbleweed appears, quite literally, from nowhere, and rolls across the stage. Hubris eyes it like he knows a secret and his grin spreads wide. "So. Who's to pull their trigger first?"

Rygar wasn't responding. He simply remained focused on Hubris the entire time, staying in a defensive position. He didn't even move out of it. And he had no intention of moving at all out of that and going back into offense mode... that's probably what he wants him to do.
There was a long pause before the audience began booing at them a few minutes later, as they were getting impatient with the fighters not doing anything. They wanted action!

"I take it everybody wants a show?" He shouted, no longer ready to block, but now spinning in place to all the audience. "Well, then I shall get serious! RYGAR!! The crowd wants blood, can you not feel it!? Prepare yourself, for I shall finish this shortly--EN GUARD!!"
The mirror stuck into the ground glinted brightly, then seemed to flash in a blinding light, engulfing the entire stadium in a quick flash.
'Illusions en grande... let us play with their minds a bit and give them a show.'
When the flash subsided, things were not quite right. There was fire surrounding the stage, encircling it in a ring that burned high and bright. Hubris didn't need real fire, the illusion would tick the mind into imagining the heat.
And then there was Hubris himself. Or, rather, himselves, for there was now three of him standing around Rygar, bouncing in place or grinning like a Cheshire cat.
It was to be noted, though, that Hubris and his copies no longer held his mirror.
"Well then. Shall we" The three said, his voice dislocated from any of the bodies. They all three rushed him, aiming to smash him in the head from different directions, although only the one to his front was real. "BEGIN?!"

He then drew up his diskarmor in defense as the Hubrises all closed in on him and began whacking him around... for a moment, Rygar was confused... three of them all ganging up and beating on him from out of nowhere! But then he began to get a peculiar feeling something was amiss...
Wait a minute... Rygar suddenly swung his diskarmor out at close range at one of them... it only went through him, "An illusion!"
Rygar found a moment to escape and leapt away from all three Hubrises. He then looked around, and noticed the ring in flames... What if... these flames aren't real either? He's playing mind games...
Rygar then looked over at his opponent... or opponents. One of them's the real Hubris... I just need to carefully find out which one it is.

"Overreactions are not but a sign of excitement. I'll let you in on one last secret--" They said, his voice still detached from just one point "I have been holding back this fight, and I plan to not show my real hand until the last fight. Don't take it personally, but strategy is as key as strength. For now, it's time for a warm-up performance."
From behind the flames stepped into the arena another Hubris. And then another. The numbers started to collect until there were eight.
"One last trick, and I'll play fair with this! One of 'me' has the hidden blade, so careful where you attack!"
All eight started to attack erratically, some from below, some from a distance, and some jumping and dropping from above. Only one was real, but now, two had his mirrors floating in their space, acting as a 'Body' for their attacks.
