I really like Death Note. I saw the anime first, and am up to Volume 5 in the manga. I've watched all the live-action movies, and really want that novel "Another Note: Serial BB Murder Case".
My favorite character was L, because he was so... different. I felt sorry he didn't have any (or many?) friends (besides Watari, who'd I say was the father figure). All he really had were people who admired him but had no idea what kind of person he was past his being smart.
My least favorite character was Misa. She was so painfully naive.
And to some extent, Light. Though IRL, I would've supported "Kira"...

Well, remember we wouldn't know that if it was in real life. Only that the killings come, go, come again... A real gimmick: the police are against him, some people support him for lowering crime rates, and also there are the ones who think he is just a murderer. We would be kept in the dark from further information like powers to control us before death, Shinigami, and even that
Think about how much safer we would be, and afraid to commit anything sinful. But they're also right that Light has no authority to take lives as a "god". And I'd admire L in real life for all the cases he solved without failure. Gah... all the mixed opinions.

Well, he killed the FBI agents (not so spoilery since they're minor), so I guess we would know about the "I dislike you--I KILL you". But let me just ask, how do you plan to get recognized by Kira/Light? Even with his great knowledge of things, I don't think he knows everyone in the world.

Heh heh. Fangirls. Have I ever posted in here? So yeah, I read the first few books of Death Note a long while ago, but didn't get around to finishing it until this past summer. And then last month I finally got around to watching the anime.
I don't think I got all my thoughts down quite as eloquently as I'd like to have done, but I'm tired, so it'll do.

I loved it! It was reccommend by a friend, back when there was no english episodes.
So I sat through the whole show squinting at subtitles on youtube and still love every minuet of it!
My favorite charecter was Matsuda and my friends all said that would probly be me in a few years
