Fuuuuck, I won't be in Japan when it comes out. ;_;

Hopefully I'll be able to get it somewhere like Play-Asia. Or I might have to call on good 'ol Celga once again.

Celga just has all of your money, right?

I want to get this too. I remember someone saying this group's dvds are region free. Is this true?

Sounds wicked, but subtitles are really lacking here. I would really need them.
Perhaps there will be fansubs ... ?

But besides that, this sounds like a must-have. I hope play-asia will have it.

You will definately require the services of Celga in this case. I would recommend Crescent Shop though, since they are a lot more experience in doing Takarazuka Purchases, being the preferred choice for most fans.

All Zuka Dvds 2004 onwards are region free.

Awesome. Thanks for stating that again. Also, do you have a link for Crescent Shop? How does their service work in comparison to Celga?

http://www.crescent-shop.com/

Works the same, but it doesn’t have a branch in US and is fully Japanese owned so they will only ship from Japan unlike some others that consolidate your purchases in US before sending to you

Of all the Shopping Services, Crescent is the best packer of your merchandises (IMO)

I've used Rinkya before, and that's how they operate. Waiting until everything gets to the USA first before sending it to you. Kind of annoying, really.

Celga has staff in the USA (or at least, English-speaking staff) but all my stuff from them has always come straight from Japan. I find that they pack things rather nicely, though. My last order was packed very nicely. ^_^

But, I will use Crescent Shop for the Takarazuka DVD, since they have more experience with that sort of thing. ^_^

Oh, I wouldn't have thought they would release this DVD so soon !
Of course, there's still the Crescent Shop option, but I'd really love for this DVD to be available ELSEWHERE...
Well, first of all, because the DVD isn't what I would call 'cheap' :larry: (that's ~70€, ~86$)
So, if we have to include shipping cost + fee the website charges per order... well, I'm pretty sure we'll reach 100€ ~100$.

And that's quite a lot of money, oh my... :larry: :larry: :larry:
So just shipping cost, as it would be the case if Play-Asia gets its hand on this DVD, would be really nice...
But I'm sure they will never have this DVD available... :s (Maybe if we harass them by e-mail ? :uramidn: )

Well.... there's also the 'illegal' option left, but well... :sadshoe:

Been waiting for this link to come up http://item.rakuten.co.jp/book/5997945/

If anyone is keen in buying, try getting from this site rather than the 2 official websites. Rakuten is significantly cheaper since they are selling at 3% discount - 8148 yen + free shipping.

This can be your bill down by some USD$8, at the very least.

Hum... does this website ship overseas ? (To France, in my case ^^)
3% discount and free shipping is quite nice (especially since the DVD is not really what one would call 'cheap', even though cheaper than regular Takarazuka DVDs ^^), so it maybe be a good option to order the DVD on this website... however, can one trust it ?
I've never ever heard of that website before, so I just couldn't know... furthermore, I don't speak a word of Japanese xD (So, even if they shipped overseas, that would be quite hard for me to order the DVD on that website xD)

However, that might be better than nothing :garyuu:

Yeah, do you happen to know if they ship overseas? Or would I still need to use a deputy service to shop through them? A discount is a discount. ^_^

No, they do not ship direct, you will need a shopping deputy, preferbly Crescent shop for zuka related stuff. And yes, both Rakuten and Crescent shop are reputable.

There can be direct shopping links, but these are so far not confirm as the links comes along only once in a while and they aren't that credible, so I won't advise them at all if it comes to something as expensive as Zuka, better spend the extra dollars then burn them.

In order to know whether the DVD of the musical would ever be available on their website or not, I sent an email to Play-Asia this morning. Here's the answer I received a few minutes ago...

Quote:
We will try our best to source the item for sale. If we have the item for
sale, we will update in our website.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

I know, this doesn't really mean anything (they probably send this very email as an answer to almost all the emails asking whether a said item will be available or not) but at least, there's still 0.01% of chance for the DVD of the musical to be available on P-A.
They have the LE of GK (which is supposedly available only on e-Capcom), so maybe... *pray fervently*

Maybe if a lot of people send them email to ask whether the DVD of the musical will ever be available, they will eventually try to get it ! xD
I know, I'm daydreaming right now, but I really want this DVD so badly... If Play-Asia still hasn't got it by the end of the month, I'll got straight to Crescent Shop, and order the DVD thanks to them. I was really reluctant at first, but well...
Of course Celestina, there's still the illegal option, but, as far as I'm concerned, I really want to get the real thing (even though there will be no subs whatsoever).

Spoiler: TOTALLY UNRELATED
By the way, I've realised that 'The Art of Gyakuten Saiban' is no more available on P-A (they don't have any left). Glad I got mine in time :D

Nice cover, indeed ! (Way better than the previous one... :franny: )
It reminds there are only 11 days left before this DVD is released...
I hope I will be able to find a way to order it, without emptying completely my banking account xD
I'm really looking forward to this wonderful show on DVD, and listening to the songs just made me want to watch it even more xD
But even if I manage to get it, I'll have to wait for my exams to be over... so I would be able to enjoy it even more ! :D (Along with the DVD of the orchestral concert :p)

Only 11 days left, 11 !! :gant-clap:

For those of you who are interested in buying the DVD, I just received my estimate from Crescent Shop and my estimate is $116.26 and that does not include shipping

Unit price: 8400 (JPY)
Domestic Shipping (from Takarazuka-Video to Crescent Shop): 450 (JPY)
Crescent Shop Commission: 2000
Total: 10850 (JPY)=$116.26

Gives those of you in the US an idea of what you're probably going to pay for our beloved Takarazuka

I received a short time ago the Gyakuten Saiban Takarazuka's DVD (which is also very good) but unfortunately, I do not understand Japanese. :sadshoe:
Where shook it possible to find the script of Takarazuka? (even a site that offers Japanese scenario clenched)

Or someone who know the Japanese and the DVD has plans to make a translation?

Just a quick line that we got our DVD from crescent-shop, and we were able to pre-order it a month ago and everything. They were great to work with, shipped super fast (once it was released) and we got our DVD yesterday. It plays just fine even on our PS2. It really is awesome so I'd say to order it if you can. There are a few screencaps up on our PW IJ community, not many and not as nice as a full video, but it's something? ^_^;

There is a small summary here: http://www.takarazuka-revue.info/tiki-i ... osmos+2009)

Takarazuka never has had translations officially available, and probably never will. At one point, there was a group working on translations of some of the more popular performances, but due to copyright issues, I believe they were shut down. Takarazuka is very picky about that kind of thing, so don't except a translation available to the public.
