Hey, I just happened to get this inspiration of a scene occurring between time gaps. A late Easter special, mind you. I would've posted this on my story "Franziska's Assistant," but I'm still waiting for feedback on what the gecko's name should be...

Nobody. Ever. Pays attention to me. Anyhow, enjoy!
Franziska's Office
12, Sunday
12:00 PM
Franziska sat at her desk, working on her paperwork- despite it being Sunday. She found that she might as well come in to do extra work, especially since it was Easter. She didn't feel like risking being dragged into playing a game of hide-and-seek with a bunch of eggs.
She looked up in surprise at the sound of her office door opening- it was Kat, her assistant. Franziska's brows arched.
"Why are you here, and-" she spluttered a little. "What is that you're holding?"
Kat looked lazily at the item. Her eyes were half-closed, as if she were bored, or sleepy.
"Oh, this, huh... Yeah, uh..." It was a hat- more specifically, a beanie with bunny ears sewn on. Kat put the hat on Franziska's head, tugging it down below her eyes. She recoiled as this action was made. "Merry Christmas."
Franziska adjusted the hat, the right ear bending at the middle to flop in front of her eye. She was looking annoyed at that point, unsurprisingly. However, instead of whipping her assistant, like she would do anyone else, she rested her chin in her left gloved palm, and her right fingers tapping impatiently on her desk.
Franziska huffed the ear from in front of her eye. "It's April, dear," she reminded Kat, who plopped heavily onto the couch in the office.
Kat sniggered. "So? I'd no sooner climb atop the tallest skyscraper on Halloween and yell 'Happy Hanukkah!'"
Franziska pulled the hat off and straightened her hair. "You're an odd one, aren't you? So, why are you here?"
"Yes."
"What?" Franziska looked at Kat as though she had lost her mind.
"Yes, I am very strange. I'm here because I don't like Easter. Every time I attend, there's always a rabbit-related incident."
"That's... too bad," Franziska confided. Thoughts of road-kill swam through her mind.
"I'll say. Those buggers are horrible when they attack all at once! Satan incarnates..."
Franziska pursed her lips- never before has she heard of someone being assaulted by a mob of rabbits. She couldn't help but giggle.
"Oh, you think
that's funny? I'll give you a good laugh when the time's right."
----------
The day slowly wore on. Franziska and Kat worked as though it weren't a holiday. They even chatted every now and then. Half the time it was business related, the other half it was friendly.
"Okay, would you rather be mutated, or a lesbian?" Kat asked from her upside-down position on the couch.
Franziska gave her a stern look. "What kind of a question is that? Lesbian, hands down," she continued before Kat could amend herself.
"
Oh! Yeah, me too. I'll take a hot girlfriend over an extra forearm any day."
Franziska blushed, slouching close to her desk to hide it. Kat giggled nervously.
"Too blunt?"
"Yeeaah, just a little."
"Right, sorry."
Franziska put her pen down, "My turn." Kat smiled. Franziska seemed to like this game. "Would you rather be covered in cockroaches or snakes?"
"Ough, definitely snakes," Kat responded with relative ease.
Franziska flinched, "Really? Y-You're not afraid of snakes?" This was surprising, since most people
hate snakes.
"No way! Those I can handle. Cockroaches give me the heebie-jeebies. With their hairy legs, their ability to eventually fly, how they can survive a nuclear explosion, and their crunchy shells," Kat shuddered.
Franziska hugged herself. "Ugh! 'Crunchy shells?' Your choice of words is disturbing!"
Kat laughed.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. Miles walked in before anyone could invite him, and Gumshoe, Phoenix, and Larry were out in the hallway.
"Well, I knew I would find
you here, Franziska, but I'm quite surprised Kat's here, too," Miles said, smirking at the scene before him.
"Don't ya want to hunt for Easter eggs, pal?" Gumshoe added. His shoulders bobbed with his stifled laughter.
Kat uncrossed her legs and recrossed them the opposite way they were. She didn't right herself, though. "It's not... really our thing," she informed them thoughtfully. She gave the group a warm smile.
They all sulked, crestfallen. "Oh, uh... That's okay, pal. We won't force ya," Gumshoe assured the two women, who just moments before were having a good time. Franziska had picked her pen back up and was working as she normally did- as though her surroundings did not exist. Kat seemed to pick this behavior up from her boss- she was still young, so naturally she would imitate her idol.
Miles nodded his understanding. "Well, we'll leave you two to your work," he said as he backed into the hallway.
Kat waved. "Thank you for the invitation, though, you guys," she chirped with a gleeful smile. Then her smile warped into an evil grin, and with a deep, arousing voice, added, "ladies."
Kat bust out laughing, while Franziska bit her gloved hand to stifle her own. Only when the assistant fell off the couch, proceeding her uproar despite that, did Franziska allow herself to laugh outwardly.
The four men stared at the scene, unsure of whether to laugh with the cheerful Kat, scoff at the insult, or be shocked at the fact that Franziska was actually laughing.
