Haven't seen one of these yet, so I'm assuming it'll be safe to ask this.

Who do you want to be, or think will be, the music composer for GS5's soundtrack? Will it be someone unheard of, from another game, or even an old GS composer brought back?

Personally, I would enjoy Atsushi Kitajoh, who composed the wonderful music for Trauma Center: New Blood. I hope it's not Noriyuki Iwadare - while he did compose great tracks for GS3, I didn't like how he composed a lot of the new Gyakuten Meets Orchestra 2008 pieces. Seriously, the Steel Samurai's and Furio's sounds like they'd be played by a marching band or at some sort of football game. And the saxaphone player in Godot's theme CANNOT keep time, nor can the sax player from the GMJ. Maybe they were the same?

EDIT: Whoops, wrong composer - it was Atsushi Kitajoh, not Akemi Kimura. Damn them for having the same initials!

I'd personally love to see them use Iwadare again. I've been a fan for years - ever since I first played Lunar:SSSC - and thought he did the best OST of the series thus far.

Whoever did AJ's soundtrack (considering that it is the only one where I actually like all the tracks).

Indeed, that would make sense, but knowing how GS1, 2, and 3 have been with their composers...

I actually would be open to a combination of composers, like a collaboration of a new composer and an old composer (for new tracks and remixes that keep the feel of the original versions.) If that was the case, Atsushi Kitajoh and either Noriyuki Iwadare (GS3, Orchestra 2008) or Toshihiko Horiyama (GS4) would be cool.

Every game in the series so far has had a different main composer, so I don't think this one should be any different. There's plenty of awesome composers out there to pick from afterall. :)

This.

They can work together in a compilation!! (Like that which was already suggested in this thread)

GS1 has the best general themes (Objection, Cross-Examination, Cornered, etc) while GS3 has awesome characer themes. So if you combine them...

I'll say T&T has both the best character themes and general themes. (most notably, Godot, Ron, Luke, Dahlia, Moderate, Cornered,) but that's my opinion.

T&T has the most epic, most elevating general themes (Allegro, Announcing the Truth, Cornered... even Trial and Defendant Lobby). Also it has the best character and general theme songs (Godot, Kudo, Lordly Tailor, etc.) and the best Reminiscence theme (Bitter taste of truth).

So yeah, T&T wins at me in all aspects of music.

For me:
T&T Themes:
Godot
Luke Atmey
Maske DeMasque
Dahlia
Lordly Tailor (yay trills! :D)
Tres Bien
Court Opening

All the other T&T songs were good/okay.

The AA songs I like:
Defendant's Lobby
Court Opening
Objection
Announce the Truth
Cross Examination
Search ~ Core
Suspense
Cornered

And my fav song out of every single PW song is Cornered ~ Variation 2001.

Anyway, before this gets into an argument over the best PW songs: My opinion is just that AA had the best general themes and T&T the best character themes (of course, AA didn't have character themes, and JFA barely did).

Also, reason why I like those AA themes better than T&T: T&T has good music and stuff, but AA just has a more focused tone. Announce the Truth 2001 is the most intense of the Announce the Truths (harpsichord ftw), Search ~ Core 2001 has the most "ZOMG!" tone, etc.

And now I shall say no more on which music is the best.

I really liked the Detention Center theme in T&T, and the Lordly Tailor (Exhibition) theme. Actually most of the music in T&T is great, Cornered, Suspense, Godot's Theme, Dahlia's Theme etc. I like the victory music that plays when you win a case too.

Someone from Trauma Center or a GS1-3 compilation since they haven't had a proper chance on the DS yet.

And for the record:

I like each soundtrack for different things.

Whoever didn't make the GS4 soundtrack.

Or, like stated previously, GS1 and GS3 composer compilation.

GS3's 'Trial' theme- the one that was remixed in the credits- was KICKASS!!
Whoever said nothing was impossible obviously never tried to close a revolving door.

"Cornered music plays"

I don't care who it is, but rather who it's NOT. Personally, I'm going to kill myself if they hire Sakuraba.

Noriyuki Iwadare.

I LOVED the GS3 soundtrack. All of it.

Also, I'm in DEEP DEEP LOVE with what we've heard so far from the GK music, so whoever made that music should be in the "Favourites" list.

I think they should continue the tradition with one composer per game. Personally, I'd like to see Yuka Tsujiyoko (Paper Mario, Fire Emblem) compose for GS5.

I loved some of JFA's music such as the "Detention Center" theme and the beautiful haunting music that plays at the start of 2-2 and the end of 2-4 (bad ending).
