Since the maid seemed to be fine, Jack withdrew into his thoughts and he slowly started to pace across the room.
How many of us are there anyway? Are there ten? I never really counted... but if that song on the piano has anything to do with this, will more disasters like this occur? Will people be killed off one at a time until only one is left to hang themselves...? No, that can't be. Nobody's sick enough to pull off that kind of stunt. But what does "You're innocent, you lost the game" mean? Too many questions...

Janice furrowed her eyebrows as Jet began to count. The sudden realization of the connection between this predicament and an old mystery favorite began to dawn on her.
"But it makes no sense... I thought there were more than ten people..." she trailed softly.
Janice tried to mentally count the people in her head. She remembered at least 30 or so guests invited. About 20 of them actually came to the island. But...
Janice clamped her hand over her mouth in sudden realization.
"A game, Master? With so many guests?"
"Oh, no worries, my dear. Only a few of them are invited to play. The rest are... what we'll call... spectators..."
But what are the rules of this game!? And who's invited to play!? she thought wildly, her eyes becoming increasingly bigger. Am I... a contestant...?
"Did I lose... because I was innocent...?" Janice whispered. However, she suddenly spoke aloud again, Jet's aloud counting suddenly triggering a memory.
"Where's Ms. Raymonds? I thought I just saw her here a minute ago!" Janice asked fearfully. On closer inspection, she suddenly asked, "Has... anyone seen Mr. Sharpe...?" she mumbled her words. Maybe he just didn't come out of his room.

Valarie was overlooking the ocean. When she had first entered the room, her eyes scanned for any sort of criticisms, something that seemed terribly wrong. It was not overly flashy, rather mainly colours of white and brown in the furniture (for example, a chest of drawers were brown and her bed was clad with white duvets and sheets.)
"I suppose this is....adequate." Valarie muttered, walking further in. She spent the next few minutes laying out her things, perfume bottles, different outfits, and that was when she heard a dreadful scream from outside. She had half a mind to go out there and say how displeased she was, noise of that quality was unacceptable in her mind.
She was pleased to see she had a balcony. On her bedside table was a bottle of champagne with wine in it. There was also a glass. She poured herself some out, and walked over to the balcony, examining the sea, and the honey coloured liquid in her glass. She smirked.
And then, she heard another scream.
"Oh, for heaven's sake!"
Valarie walked back into her room, and placed her glass on the bedside table. Swinging her silk scarf around her in an irritated fashion, she strode over to the door, out into the hallway.
"Now really, is this typical behaviour under Mr Enigma's house? I am most surprised, not to mention ups-"
And she froze.
Her eyes caught the lifeless sight of that brutish Irish girl from earlier. Oh, her voice sent shivers down Valarie's spine! But that was nothing compared to this.
Blood was pouring from her head.
"HELP! HELP! MURDER! MURDER! MURDER IN THE HALLWAY! SHE'S DEAD! MURDER! MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!!!"
Her scream was nearly enough to crack windows.

A woman was laying on the floor in a doorway in the hall, bleeding from the head. No. Dead.
This isn't happening...
The familiar image popped into his head. He tried to surpress the memory as best he could. But then came the screaming, the yelling, quickly escalating into an arguement. The noise grew louder... louder... LOUDER! The image came back.
She laid on the floor, bound by thick ropes. Her glassy green eyes staring at him, but dead and empty. And everywhere the was blood, blood, blood.
No.... Noooo....
And the voices grew louder, until he couldn't take it anymore.
"SHUT UP!" he bellowed.
The hall quieted abruptly.
"We won't get anywhere if we keep panicking or bickering. We're in an grave situation, but first thing's first. We have to move the body and conduct an investigation. We should probably examine her too... Is there a doctor around here?"

Of course, Cassie Raymond's dead body was not a dream.
"Oh my—!" Janice could only gasp in utter shock, feeling herself ready to faint. I can't... not when so many people need me...
As she heard one of the guests bicker towards her, Janice scowled, but sighed in relief as one of the others stood up for her.
"I was actually going to see the master when I was conveniently hit on the head," she replied bluntly, suddenly not caring about courtesy to guests and being a good hostess and all that B.S. "I would just as much as you like to know where the master is..."
One of the guests mentioned a doctor.
"I-I don't know if there's another guest who's a doctor... I could check... Wait, I think there is one person..." Suddenly furrowing her eyebrows, Janice's thoughts wandered elsewhere. Is there a... note in here as well...?

Janice thought for a moment what to do.
The master is missing... there's a doctor, thankfully... but the master specifically said that no police could come or to have any telephones installed... did he know...? Janice cringed at the thought. A game of murder...

The boat boy had not been able to carry his bags (which were full of amour) so he had to lug them around himself. his laptop got only one bar of reception up here, and sometimes cut out entirely. this was unheard of, he had the best network in the world! how was he supposed to get his important updates!
to top it all off, even though the boat had dropped them off right in front of the house, Karmine had managed to get himself hopelessly lost. he was currently wandering around in the hedge maze in the garden, and his mask was getting hotter and hotter with frustration.
he had heard two piercing screams after a while, and every chivalric bone in his body had yelled at him to rescue the damsel in distress, however, he couldn't get out of this godsdamed maze! five minuets after the second scream, Karmine lost his patience with the maze. Drawing his sword, Karmine blasted through wall after wall of hedge. as he breached the last wall, the side door of the house came into view. red mist still clouding his vision, he was just about to charge the door when his laptop beeped. he stopped, came to his senses, and reviewed what just came in on the screen. after answering the update, he (much more calm now) entered the house and started searching for people. he still had his bags in tow, and as he wandered the house, he came upon a group of people surrounding something.
he called out to them "Ho, there, friends! Be there a problem around here? I thought I heard a damsel in distress!"

Janice jumped as a newcomer suddenly approached her. In a suit and all.
How come I wasn't warned about him...?
As she heard the... suggestion from the "knight" and the doctor, Janice huffed and decided to take action.
"Look, I have an idea. Let's cover the body and keep the door locked," she ordered, wanting to take charge. "I would like everyone back into their rooms and I will call for everyone once dinner is served. Is that clear?"
Janice sighed. She did not sign up for this.

He sat on the edge of the bed and rubbed his temples. He came to this island to find of the truth behind his "mysterious donor". But within the first few hours there had been a murder. Was it really worth it? Well he had no choice but to stay on the island and see this through.
He glanced at the foot of the bed at his closed briefcase, where he knew that little silver locket still laid inside. He sighed.
"I hope I'll get through this okay, love... There's a murderer running around and I'm not ready to join you yet."

Things were happening too quickly for Janice. Investigation...! A new man in armor... what is this mess!?

She closed her eyes in an attempt to calm herself down. Her ears suddenly picked up something, however.
"I'm sure the maid can direct you."
"I'm sorry, excuse me—" she turned to the direction of the voices. My ears are always perked for my duties... I suppose, she sighed. "Your room, sir?" she asked the man in the suit of armor. "Erm, do I still have the list one me...?" Looking around, she found the clipboard still neatly in her apron pocket.
"I, er, need your name, sir," Janice asked nervously.
((if anyone would like to have a visit with the "Master" pm me. I'm thinking of having... "visits" in the middle of the night. We'll see... I want to be able to get the story moving a little))
