Absolutely! I'm flattered you'd even want it as a desktop! o_o

Here's the original 1024 x 768 image, and here's a 1024 x 800 version I transformed for you so the text didn't have to be cut off. I hope that's ok. :D

;A; Thank you so much Perrydoto. <3 That means a lot coming from you.

And I updated once more with two pieces of (birthday) gift art. As of this post, I'm caught up matching this threads art with the Ace Attorney specific work at my fanart blog. Hopefully after this I'll be motivated to scan some of my other scribbles and update both places at the same time. =) I hope you guys enjoy!

My thoughts exactly. XD

I never knew Alita could have an interest in a children's show. XD Never even thought of it. But it gives me a 'daaaaawww~' feel. :)

Haha, they're cool! =D
I just love it when people make drawings where two characters swich items (like the 'Pearl using Franziska's whip to jump rope with' I made a while ago, and this *much better* Ema and Maya).
They look really interested in each others stuff ^^

Cody and Alita trading cards is soo good xD
I love it that Alita still has her own recognizable pose, but that she's doing something that no one would ever tought she would do :will: . And her face is just awesome!
And it looks like Cody's cards are 10 times better as Alita's xD Poor Alita :-P

Birthday gift arts eh? Hmm.. never heard of that. So basicly you give people drawings as gifts. That's pretty cool, I'm sure those people were really happy with their gift ^^

One last question, how did you make that second one? I'm pretty sure you used a pencil and waterpaint for the first one (which turned out great!), but I'm not sure about the second one..
Thanks in advance!

Both girls I drew these for are some of my good cosplay friends, so I actually just doodled the characters we cosplayed as together! XD Only after that did the silly subject matter come about.

I feel like Maya would think test tubes and finger print dust are "soo cool!" and Ema would have to ~scientifically~ investigate how her matagama functions. ;D And I love Edgeworth being a closet geek too, so I could see Alita doing the same with her attitude-y true personality. xD At first I was like "we dressed up as Cody and Alita? How will that work?" but then this silly idea came.

Of course he's scolding Alita! You think Cody Hackins would lose at something involving the great Steel Samurai? ;) And yes! A lot of my friends are amazing artists, so we've become accustomed to drawing things for each others birthday. <3 Artwork is one of my favorite gifts :D

No problem! I just used pencil and photoshop for the second. I doodled in pencil, scanned it, colored it quickly in photoshop, then used a pattern from squidfingers (I'm almost positive that's where at least, I've had a few of them saved on my harddrive for so long now XD) for the background.

Oooh, haven't seen these before, that looks great. I'm sure the people (PW fans as well?) you gave them to were happy. Oh and that Squidfingers site is nice, that'd help me for future works... Which has yet to be done. Though I doubt I can use them for clothing patters... Too... Wallpaper-y.

Also, if that Alita & Cody pic was done by pencil, it must be oooone sharp pencil.

The balls on the sides of them make for nice grip, and the triangular shape doesn't hurt as much :) Sadly, I had to import 2H leads cause NZ stationary stores are made of fail >.> My local keeps plenty of stock of them now though :)

Try a 0.7mm lead then. They have a bit more back bone to them... just, you should lay off the pressure anyways, or you'll tear your paper O.O 0.7mm will handle the weight. They're just harder to find leads for. That one in the image there is a 0.7mm pencil. I was forced into that size leads. Good thing too. I use to beak the 0.5mm all the time. I miss the accuracy of the skinnier lead thoguh T.T

Oh wow really? Are the lines that thin looking? I'm really bland with what materials I use to draw, so everything is just with a 0.5 mechanical pencil. My handwriting is relatively small and tight too, and I think because of this I've always stuck with a 0.5. If I draw with a 0.7 it feels like I'm scrawling with a charcoal stick! XD But again, that's only because I've favored the thinner lead most of my life.

And Arkillian, that pencil you posted looks ~glorious~. It looks as though it'd feel magical to draw with *_* I love it.

Actually, I went ahead and dumped out my bag so I could take a photo of the stuff I carry around with me everywhere in case the urge to draw arrives. I'm almost embarrassed because it just highlights my ah, lack of class in material choice. BUT HEY IT'S OK. <3

Image

The white arrows are pointing to the one I drew the Alita and Cody pic with. It's just a 0.5 Wanrom San-X character pencil. XD The one that's REALLY wild is that happy cloud pen on the far left; it's 0.3 and is downright ~glorious~ to write with. I worship it. Ohohoho (heaven forbid when it runs out on me...)

I went stationary shopping a while back, saw it and drooled. It's no different to a normal pencil- I was using a cheep mechanical one up untill then, but I got that, a few other not interesting items, and this:-

Image

This box is LOVE. Till this box, there was no difference between a HB and a 3B etc. Now though, Pencil drawing is an experience XD It's REALLY hard to explain if you don't shade in pencil, but the feel of it is TOTALLY different to a cheap one, and the difference in B levels is actually noticeable. it's one of those things where spending more is actually MORE. They weren't that much more expensive either!

We don't get cute like pencils liek that in nz though. We have either cheap and nasty or expensive >.> And not always is expensive better. In the end, I could draw before and after buying all this stuff, so that's what matters, right? Having better supplies doesn't make an artist more creative ;) It wasn't that long ago I was spending 50cents on pencils to draw.

(Actually- as a kid, I used old cereal boxes to draw on. It never occured to me that if I just ASKED my parents for paper, they might give me some XD I was SUCH a paper horder XD Lol)

Sorry- I'll stop spaming your thread >.> I'm procrastinating again... >.>

HB is fine if all you're doing is sketching out like arts :) If you want to do fully rendered peices in pencil like this, then you need a few more pencils in your armada than just an HB. 9B is where you get the really heavy blacks, and Hb is greeat for skin tones. Everyone to their own though. I started off worshipping the HB god before I discovered other pencils existed. They're too hard for me now days >.>

DD:....I never knew 9B actually existed. ^^;
I started out with 2B, because 2B is the standard pencil lead colour and great for shading bubbles on exams (I don't know why they wanted 2B so much to scan the OMR MCQ sheets...) in Singapore. Then, well, now I draw using 3B mechanical pencil lead, and occasionally in 2B. I've wanted to try out 4B, but then I haven't got the chance...yet. XD I'm not a pencil fanatic though, because I don't do shading in pencil...hardly ever, I guess. XD

I guess the difference is the drawing experience. I find softer leads easier to control.

I use 0.5 mm leads. My hands are small, so there isn't much energy exerted enough to break the lead. XD And, well, my mechanical pencil supports it. On the other hand, I can't find 0.7 mm pencils anywhere here. T_T

That'll be why- 9B can support itself in mechanical pencil size. Besides, most people that use it are doing large areas. Mechanical pencil leads I THINK go up to 2B... don't quote me on that. IF you look for woodless (Or wooded- up to you :) ) pencils, you'll find it goes to 9B. They're VERY brittle though, cause they're... I think it's the carbon level. What ever it is that increases the B number, that is really high and it relys on the plastic coating to support itself. It's not like charcoal though- it is messy if you sit your hand in it XD (I WEAR my art when I draw XD ) Just make sure you sharpen your pencil alot and you're fine though :)

Woodless pencils are great for shading large areas. IF you primarily shade in pencil, I suggest going for atleast 1 woodless pencil :)

Oh- and SEALANT. DO SEAL! I'm not fooling around here. HB is sometimes ok, but 5 years down the track when your piece of art is a grey blur- you know. Sealant doesn't cost much. Hairspray is ok (If you can handle the smell). IT's SO important to seal with the heavier leads. I cake the stuff (Mine smells like fejoa when I spray it XD )

Um- yeah XD

Um- yeah XD

Ahh...I feel like a really bad person now, because I threw away those drawings that were not what it used to be - because I thought pencils were just temporary. Ahahaha, to me, it is just practice then...I guess I'll start collecting my drawings and preserve them. D:

I haven't held a wooden pencil since I've found the mechanical one. XD I guess I'll open my eyes wide to look for 9B pencils in my local dealer. XD

Get a small rang of them 9B is hard to erase. OH- One more thing, 9B wont dissappear with a normal eraser. Ask for a kneedable eraser.

The spray catches everyone. I learnt at a young age that you seal all pencil, charcoal and chalk pastel pics T.T
