Hello There!
THis is my first hour here...so Im a Bit New at this!

But I'm gonna give this fan fic a go!!

Haha..I just cant get over how brill these smilies are!

This will probably be terrible seeing as I have given no thought to this fic, But here I go!

This is set in the good old days BTW! (PW 1, 2, 3)

*Edit* Ive just figured finished the story, so I've gone back to edit the summary and such!*

Chapter 1

"Nick.." I started
"shhhh..." ...He leaned in closer...
I could feel me cheeks going bright red, our faces were so close they were almost touching...and getting closer..
He looked straight into my eyes..
..There's just something about Nick's honest blue eyes that you can simply get lost in.. Thats why I didnt notice that I was leaning closer to him too...
Nick gently stroked my cheek and my legs started to feel like jelly...
His lips came closer...closer..
I couldn't imagine how soft and tender his would be against mine..
..Just come a little closer...
I closed me eyes, waiting, longing in suspence...
Nick laughed his familiar gentle laugh.
"..wake up.."
"Oh don't worry, I am awake!" I replied, eyes still shut, still awaiting the passionate embrasse that was sure to follow..

His laugh was a little louder.
"Well you better get up then, Sleepy Head!"
...what..?
My eyes snapped open and I nearly had a heart attack when my 'Steel Samurai' teddy looked straight back at me!

Nicks voice sounded again but from the other end of the room,
"Haha...so who were you dreaming about? Not Edgeworth, I hope!"
Oh God...a Dream...Oh Holy CRAP! - Nick was watching!!!
Think Maya Think! - He thought It was Edgeworth, he doesnt know!

I turned to Nick, cheeks: beetroot red, trying to hide my utter embarrassment..
"hah..No! I was dreaming about..Hotdogs Nick! - I'm starving!..Why can't i drem about Edgeworth anyway?"
Nick sat down beside me, I could feel my heart going 90 already!

"I just got a call from him, he won't be at your birthday next week because he was taken away to the Canaries on a suprise trip...by his...Boyfriend!"
"Edgeworth's not Gay, Nick!" I protested
"and yet he's in the love suite with his boyfriend in the Canaries! ..I was unfortunatly told the details by a very enthusiastic Edgeworth!"
I smiled, Nick was so understanding. If Edgeworth could tell him he was gay..maybe i could tell him how I feel...NO..Not now, Not ever...
Just..no...Nick could never feel the same...

He obviously saw the pain and confusion on my face.
"Maya, It's Ok..He's the same old Edgey..He just likes men!..You'll get used to it soon enough!.."
I laughed at Nick while he looked very puzzled.
My stomach groaned in hunger..
"Lets go get some Hot Dogs" smiled Nick
...He has the best ideas sometimes!
"Gimme 10 Nick, I have to get ready! Meet you down there!"

I sat on the couch in shock..

....that Is the last time I am sleeping on Nick's couch...Even if I can pass it off as a hot dog passion...Nick seeing me slobber all over my Steel Samorai is something I dont want happening again!..

...
.But It WAS nice to sleep in Nick's apartment...

..BAD Maya..stop thinking those thoughts..

Ok! Well here comes Chapter 2!!

Chapter 2

"So, did you sleep well?" Nick asked, twirling the straw around his Milk Shake.
"I slept Very well..until you woke me up, that is!" I replied
"Haha..I'm suprised you slept at all on the couch!" Nick Laughed
"Hey..how did I end up on the couch anyway? Don't you have a spare bed?"
"Yeah, but you fell asleep during The Pink Princess..and you looked so peaceful..I didn't want to wake you"
I could have sworn Nick just blushed slightly..but it was probably my imagination..
"Yay! Food!" I beamed as our hotdogs arrived.

"So Maya, Where was Pearl last night?"
Ahhh Crap...Pearly never comes over when I stay at Nick's because she does'nt want to ruin our "special time"..
..How embarrassing...
"She's been training extra hard lately" I Said quickley...It actually wasn't a lie, Pearls really has been working hard and making me feel so guilty for not visiting Kurain...
"When was the last time you trained?" Nick asked.
"Emm..Well... You know how busy I am now adays, what with the work at the office and such.." I trailed off, unconvinced at my own excuse...We haven't had a client in months..Me and Nick have just been lazing around the office watching old movies all day!
Nick laughed "Maybe I should actually take a case, to make that excuse true?"
He knows me too well...I don't want to go back to kurain when the alternative is staying here with Nick!
I needed to change the subject..
"So how did you sleep?"
"Well..really badly actually.." He answered with a yawn thrown in.
"Why?"
"Well your snoring kept me up!"
"Liar, I don't snore!" I laughed back...at least i hope i don't snore!...
"haha...Oh! What time is it?" He suddenly seemed serious
"11.30"
" I've got a date" He replied smugly....
What?
WHat??
"What???"
"Don't look so surprised Maya!"
No...No..
"W-who with..?" I failed to sound casual..
"The last person you would ever guess..." He sounded surprised himself..
..Maybe he wasnt into her...Why was Nick dating anyway???...
He never dated!!!...
"Franziska Von.."
"No WAY!"
"..Way"..eugh..he looked so smug! Why was he going out with Franziska Von Karma anyway????
He saw my disgusted expression and added in defence..
"Maya... I'm sure she just wants to whip me or something.." He trailed off seeing how wrong that sentence sounded now that they were going on a date!..
" I thought you didnt get on.." I finally said
"I'm giving her a chance..besides... I should be going out on dates! I'm young..and good looking(ish)!!"
Well actually You're Gorgeous Nick...
"Its actually funny how she asked me..."
While Nick waffled on about that witch..I couldnt help but think 'WHY?'...I'm much nicer than her...that counts for something..right?...I'm sure he's just humouring her anyway...
..Still...
..Maybe I should take up the whip..If thats what Nick's into...?

Chapter 3!

"Ok, Tie or no tie?"
Nick was desperatly trying to get me enthusiastic about his date...It was not working
"Tie" I stated, not looking up from the magazine.
"Maya, you haven't looked at me yet!"
I turned unwillingly to look at him.
There Nick stood in a stylish formal black suit with a white shirt, open at the nape, revealing the top of his muscular chest
"N-new suit?" Was about all I could manage.
He twisted and turned in the mirror, trying to get a good view of himself...
..But I had the best view...his Behind..
.."So, tie or no tie?"
"No tie" I gulped
Y'know If I was going out on a date with Nick..I wonder If he would bother getting a brand new suit for me?...
"Do I look ok?" - Nick was starting to get selfconsciousat my staring.
"Very Sexy" I teased...Knowing all too well i thought it was true..
Nick blushed nd quickly changed the subject
"Em..Oh! Maya, I forgot to say it earlier but theres no point in you going all the way back to Kurain or the office at this time of night..Why don't you sleep here again tonight?"
Just hearing him say that sends shivers down my back...very very good shivers
"But Nick...em..What If Franziska..well, What if she wants to ...see your apartment?"
"C'mon Maya..you know I wouldnt..well I'm not like that!" He seemed a little hurt..
"Ok, We'll I'll stay over if afterwards we can stay up and roast mashmallows on the kitchen stove!"
"Haha, sounds like a plan!" He smiled
Thank Mistic Ami! "Franny" might get Nick for 2 hours...but i get him all night long....And...I get to snoop around his apartment in the mean time! - Hehe!

Chapter 4 - The Date - NIck's POV

Oh God..This was awkward.
Conversation was stiff, slow and going no-where.
Its never occured to me that the only thing me and Franziska have ever talked about is her hatred for me..nd my eventual demise...
..I guess you can't really talk about that stuff on a first date!...
..Actually..Why are we even on a date at all?..
"Phoenix Wright! - You will go to dinner with me!"
It was so like and unlike Franziska at the same time..so forceful!
I thought it was one of the funniest ways to be asked out...but maya didnt seem to think so...
When I told her in the diner, she just blanked me!
..I think she's angry with me for going out with a Von Karma..
..And maybe she's right, this is probably all some tactic to embarrass me in court..

..but..

Seeing her sitting there so vulnerable with a gentle yet uncomfortable smile on her face...
"So, Phoenix Wright"
"Just Phoenix" I interrupted, better to set the record straight on that one!
"..Ph- Phoenix.." she tried out like it was a new language..
Only a silence followed.
Franziska's cheeks started to go red.
Someone had to say something..
"Franziska, was it not difficult to move to a new counrty on your own at such a young age?"
She smiled
"I dont consider myself as young as you might think..
..I was forced to grow up quickly.."
"So you wernt scared at all?"
Her smile dropped
"Fear Is a weakness, Phoenix Wright..and I am a Von Karma...I am p-Perfect!"
The uncomfortable silence returned.
"..I-I was..weak.." she said quietly
Did a Von Karma just admitt imperfection? Talk about personality doing a 180!
"No, no! Just because you were scared doesnt mean you were weak!"
She seemed unconvinced.
"But I am weak..thats why I could never live up to my father's.."
"No Offence, but your dad was a horrible, sick...jerk..." I trailed off...
..After using the words 'horrible' and 'sick' to describe her father...the word 'jerk' was the nicest word that came to mind when describing him...
...
..So much for us becoming friends, never mind anything more!..
..Much to my suprise, Franziska started to smile.
Her smerk grew into a wide grin..
She started to laugh a soft, feminine laugh.. One I'd never heard before..It was sweet..
"I suppose you're right..although, I wouldnt have used the word 'jerk' myself..."
This was a side of Franziska I'd never seen before..a human side...a side i liked...

By the time Franziska drove me home, we were laughing and talking like we had known each other years..
..Yeah, I know..she drove me home...
She even walked me to the door of my apartment.. and as the conversation died down, she seemed more vulnerale again.
Franziska looked down and blushed heavily...I realised I was standing in the doorway, leaning quite close to her body.
She looked back up and out eyes met.
"Tonight was..different..fun..Phoenix..Wr-.."
She stepped forward forward meaningfully...
...
..Hold on...
When did this night turn from being an awkward pity date..to a ..sprouting romance?...
..I wasnt ready for that...yet anyway..
I pulle back slightly, and i could see the pain in her face, I obviously offended her.
Franziska coughed and regained the distance between us.
"Maybe" I started awkwardly.."You might want to go out again sometime?"
I waited in suspence...
"hmmm..I think i'd like that" She smiled and turned back down the hall.

I was still in shock at Franziska's behaviour when I opened the door..I needed to lie down!..
Greeting me as I entered was the pleasing sight of a sleeping Maya...
..on the couch..again..
Pressed to her chest was a framed picture, I knelt down beside Maya to get a better look.
It was a photo of Maya and I, taken about a year ago, Maya wrapped in my arms.

Maya groaned softly..I looked at her face...she didnt seem in any pain..
"Oh Nick" She whispered, Dammit, I woke her up!
"I'm right here" I replied, lowering my voice as my face came closer to hers.
"Nick.." She repeated..this time more gentle..
"Maya.." Her eyes still closed, she moved towards me, her face almost toushing mine...
I could feel the heat radiating from her cheeks
..I froze..not knowing what to do...
Her lips came closer...My heart beat was raising..
..closer..
Her lips puckered slightly as she leant in further...
Maya's eyes opened slowly....

Well Hello! Yay! Finally done...Internet timed out again..arggh..so, Im officially getting pissed at writting out this chapter..but It's done! yay!
My favourite scene so far..but i did like it better the first time i wrote it out..ahh well..

Chapter 5 (Chapter 4 from Maya's POV)



The apartment seemed so empty and lonely without Nick.
I went around turning all the lights on, so it would seems less creepy
I'd only been in 4 of the 5 rooms in Nick's apartment, (It wasnt a huge apartment..they're just really small rooms!)
The Kitchen, The Bathroom, The Sittingroom, The Spare bedroom..and finally ..
..Nick's Bedroom..
It's not like Nick told me not to go into his room, It's just that I was always too preoccupied with something in the kitchen to check it out!
My hand rested on the handle of the door...
..Wait..Was this right? Invading his personal space and snooping around his possestions when he wasnt there?!..It didnt seem ok..
..Against my sensible and mature thoughts...my hand pushed the door open...
If Nick was investigating a case for clues ..he would definitely snoop around!...
and in way..I was looking for clues..
I fumbled for the switch on the wall..Light!...
Revealed, was the unfortunate sight of a complete mess..what did I expect?..It was Nick after all!..
I walked around the room..stepping over dirty tracksuits, t-shirts and I'm very sorry to say it, but, underwear.. spread out all over the floor..Eugh..
The room was actually quite small..There was only a bed, a side lamp, a wardrobe held steady by dusty law books, a chair smothered in clothes and a cabinet..
..A man of simple tastes..Well there could have been more furniture under the mess..
..But man shall never know...

Y'know, You can tell a lot about a person from their possesions..so..It's not really That bad..If I maybe...take a look though his drawers??..
(That's the 'cabinet' kind of drawers..not the 'underwear' kind!)

Most of the drawers were filled with an abundance of track suits and sweats.. Nick only wore suits in court..and he hadnt been there in months..he just wore sweats when he chillaxed with me in front of the TV...
Tucked away in the back of one of the drawers..there was something that grabbed my attention..something pink?
...A Bright Pink Jumper with 'P' Written on it!...Even I have enough fashion sense to know Not to wear that! What Nick like in his youth??..
..
The top drawer was the most interesting...
The most visible in a sea of random objects was a card with a pink back..
I turned it over..no..
..It was Shelly De Killer's card...with Nick's head drawn onto the shell...
...I teared up..
..
..That experience.. holds a lot of..
..excrutiating memories..
...
But, I dont remember giving that card to Nick either..
I wonder where he got it...
..and why he kept it...
I wiped my tear away and got back to work.
Stuck in the back of the drawer was a bundle of love letters all tied together..all from a girl named "Dollie" whoever that is...
I rumaged further into the drawer.."Hah!".. I pulled out a copy of "Practising Law for Dummies"
I flicked through the pages..
Step 1. Bang on Table
Step 2. Shout "Objection"
Step 3. Point Finger in Random Direction
Step 4. Think Later
etc..
..It definitely sounds like Nick alright!..
..I sighed and sat down on his bed..defeated..
Honestly, I was expecting a secret diary or somthing, professing his love for me...
..Why did i even get my hopes up??..
..I slumped back onto the pillow.."Ouch!"
There was something hard under there!
My hand reached under to pull out a framed photo, the free hand turned on the side lamp.
"Oh Nick!"
The picture was of Nick and I in an intimate embrace, his arms wrapped around me..
Back then, that would have meant nothing to me..
..I wonder if it means the same to Nick as it does to me now..
No maya! Dont think like that..he would never!...
...but he did have this picture..under his pillow......
...Like a secret...like I was his secret..

Tired and confused, I left the room, turned off the light and closed the door.
I lay down on the couch still clutching the frame..
..I would ask nick about the picture when he came home...In away that didnt make me sound like a weird stauker that snooped around his room when he was out...
..well, Ill sleep on that one...
..and I'll talk to Nick when he comes home...
..When he comes home..
..I could feel my eyes getting heavier...
...His secret...
...
......
...
...
..."Maya.." Nick stroked my cheek gently..
"Nick"...He untied my shawl, slowly pulled it off my shoulders and traced his finger down my arm..
..He had never gone in this direction before..
..I felt so bare without my shawl, so vulnerable in his arms..
His beautiful blue eyes looked earnestly into mine for any sign that he should continue..
Seeing the satisfaction on my face, he ran his hands further down... his strong hands caressed my body, slowly and sensually...
..I groaned in pleasure..
..Nick came closer..
"Oh Nick.."
"I'm right here" he said softly
..I felt so safe in his arms...It felt so right..
"Nick.."
..I leant forward..every part of my body tingled in seductive thrill...
..our lips came closer...
..closer..
.....Closer...
..I opened my eyes slowly.. i wanted to savour every part..
..Nick's saphire blue eyes locked with mine..our faces almost touching..there was no sound but but our heavy breathing...
..Nick's lips parted slightly..
..He leaned forward...
...
.....Nick's soft, gentle lips ..met mine...
..His lips moved slowly and passionatly, .. seducing me into a breathless heap..
..I pulled away, taking deep breaths of air..I could feel every part of my body still throb with the erotic experience....

..Nick just sat by the couch in shock..
..
Ahhh Crap!! I've ruined the moment!!!!!

I kissed him! I sat on the couch in shock
..I actually kissed him!..or..
..Did he kiss me?
Nick was sitting on the floor looking even more shocked and very confused ..
I had only just realised that the last part of my dream..wasnt actually a dream..
..so..did i kiss him..or did he kiss me?
Nick opened his mouth as if to say something, and then closed it gain..
..unbearable silence..
"How did you get that photograph?" he finally asked.
The frame was lying upside down on the ground, I must have dropped it when...
..We'll i guess we wernt going to tackle the biggest issue first anyway..
"Why do you have this photo?" I retaliated
"Am I not allowed to have a picture of us?"
"..under your pillow..?"
he remained silent and looked away
...
"..You went into my room?.."
I didnt say anything...I couldnt think of anything to say!
...
Nick broke the silence
"How did you sleep?" he asked with a dry undertone of sarcasm.
"very well..until you woke me up.." I whispered back.
We had used the very same words just this morning..
..the words held an entirely different meaning now...
Nick forced a small, sad smile.
"So..was that another hotdog you were dreaming about again?"
I laughed a single, uncomfortable laugh..
..no answer..
He closed his eyes
"..named Nick.." he added quietly

".. i don't know what you're talking about.." I finally managed
Nick's brows furrowed, he put a hand into his pocket and pulled out the glowing Magatama.
"Maya.."
Oh Double Crap
He sees psyche locks..
..
I said nothing..
There we both sat, for hours, just staring into each others eyes.
On the tips of our tounges were questions for each other that neither of us could ask nor answer..
..yet we both knew that until we had found our answers..things wouldnt be the same..
Thats why I sat there for so long..the last time I could ever make eye contact with him
...
The piercing rays of the rising sun lit up the room.
Nick looked like a zombie
"Do you want breakfast?" he mumbled, making his way over to the kitchen.
"No thanks" I replied
I sat on my own in the sitting room until i finally realised what I had to do.
I made my way into the kitchen and went straight to the fridge, I couldnt look at him for this conversation..I'll start off with some small talk..
"So, How was your date with Von Karma last night?"
"What? Oh..umm, Franziska was actually lovely, when you got to know her, she really opened up!"
Thank Mystic Ami I was facing away from him..
"Oh..well i'm glad you like her.."
The awkward silence only enforced my desicion
It was time to drop the bomb.
"Um...Phoenix?"
His head snapped in my direction, I never called him 'Phoenix'..
"Yknow what you were saying yesterday Is right, I havn't trained in months..I think It's time I went back to Kurain.."
I waited for it to sink in.
"Maya, If this is about what happend last night, then..don't go...It means nothing!..Things can go back to the way they were"
That's the problem..It means nothing to him..
"No, no..It's not that, I just..need.. to go back.."
I turned to face him.
Nick was leaning forward with his head in my hands.
"..then go.." he finally whispered...

Haha, oh wow, it's actually like an alternative version of my story only Phoenix is the one chasing and Maya's the one dating.

It's called "Finding Mr. Wright", don't worry, they're not exactly the same, they just follow a vaguely simular plot.

The bad news ( for you people ) Is that i'm going on holiday for about 2 weeks
(THats great for me though! - Woop woop Egypt!

Ok, I'm going to Egypt tomorow morning, but I just couldnt stay away!
This lshort ittle chapter is what i will leave you with until I return..It's just mayas thoughts since she returned home to Kurain...

By the way, Missile. x - I read Finding Mr. Wright, and its brill! - Keep it up, but because it notice they are quite similar, I've decided that my next chapter (or some chapter in the future) will have a dramatic twist :L

CHapter 7

Yes it's home, yes It's familiar, comforting, a break from my current destroyed social life..
But If Kurain chapter was anything, it was boring.
I'd grown up here, spent almost every year of my life in these temples, but after two years of tasting the most amazing experiences there are, adventure, friendship, fun, love, trust and most recently..lust..
..Kurain doesnt seem to satisfy any more..
Ofcourse the elders thrilled to see me return home, and Pearly was almost exploding with excitement! But the first words she said to me were
"Mystic Maya!, Mystic Maya!! You're back!!...but wheres Mr. Nick?.."
Way to rub it in Pearly..
That was only two days ago, I still havent decided whether or not to tell her about what happend...
Maybe not, It would only break her little heart to know that Nick rejected me..
Atleast I've stopped having those kinds of dreams...they're worse now..
THe dream starts off as it normally does, The romantic situation where Nick sweeps me off my feet and into his arms, and just as i gaze into his eyes..I see that shocked, glazed over, nothingfull look in his eyes...the same look as when he sat on the floor on that terrible night..
and he jerks away from me and goes to sit on the floor..Ugh, I dont even know what it means..
but i have been thinking about us for the past two days straight.
The worst is when I think of it from Nick's point of view.

So he comes home after an amazing date with Von Karma, he probably kissed her too...
..and he sees his lowley assistant sleeping on the couch.
He comes closer to look at the picture that i'm holding that should be in his room and thinks
"Why was Maya in my room - On my bed of all things??"
So I'm looking wierd in his eyes already!
THen he hears me groaning in my sleep, and writhing in imaginary pleasure
..he probably thinks I'm either hurt..or having a very good dream ( which i was)
..So he knows it's a sexy dream, and knowing Nick, he probably stayed out of curiosity to peice together clues about who I'm dreaming about..
..Then he hears his name..
"Oh..Nick.."
..
Ugh..Why didn't he just go to bed and pretend he didnt hear anything..Why did he stay?
..Why did he let me lean in..our lips just millimeters apart..Why did he...
Well..Ive been wondering about that..I'm pretty sure that my dream ended when I opened my eyes..so everything that happend after that...looking into his eyes..our heavy breathing in unison..the kiss..was all real..not my imgination...
and I remember him kissing me..

That couldnt be right.
No, Nick looked so shocked afterwards..I must have kissed him, Maybe he was shocked at What he did?..
..
Kurain is so lonely.. It's amazing how you get so close to someone, whether they be a friend or a lover..and in a flash, when they're gone..you lose such a large part of your life with them..
..Nick is my best friend..
..He didnt want me to go..
But I cant go back now, It hurts enough knowing that he'll never love me..adding to that the "lovely" Von Karma..
I dont think i could take it...
..
I need to speak to an understanding friend..I bet Gumshoe has had hard a love life..
..Might give him a call...

Egypt was Amazing, but there's no place like cold wet Ireland!
Actually Egypt was quite scary! Just like Slumdog Millionaire! - Yet still amazing!

Maybe You'll be glad to know that I have quite a lot written ..and that I've gotton the plot figured out for the rest of story!
But It may be a little too plotty, so If you have any suggestions, or if you dont like the way i'm going, just say so!

THis chapter is as they say.."The pivitol scene" into the slightely darker side of the story

Chapter 8

I quickly rang the door of Gumshoe's apartment, It was getting dark and this was kind of a bad neighborhood!
"Hey Pal, Come on inside!"
Gunshoe's apartment was tiny, there wern't actually seperate rooms, just one big room containing a bed, wardrobe, toilet, sink, shower, oven, microwave and a fridge.
When I say 'That was it' - That Really Was It.
"Gumshoe..the area you live in..is kinda scary.."
"Haha, Yeah, I know Pal. It's the no.1 hot-spot for people released from jail...and i couldnt afford anything else.."
Gumshoe's wide happy smile chnged into his signature 'puppy dog' face, on the last sentence.
My stomach grumbled.
"Hungry, Pal? Dinners just ready!"
Dinner for Detective Gumshoe was sitting on his bed, crossing his legs and eating instant noodles on his lap..
..Which was perfectly fine with me, being so hungry!..
"So, on the phone..*munch munch*..you said you had a ..*munch*..love problem?"
Gumshoe asked inbetween mouthfuls of noodles.
"Yeah, I thought you might be able to help?"
"Well who is the lucky guy?..Not Edgeworth I hope,..he's Gay!"

..Why wont everyone just leave Edgeworth alone?!?

"So I heard, but no..emm..you don't know the guy.."
"Well what's his name, Pal?"
"Xin Eohp" I blurted the first name that wasnt Nick's that came to my head.
Gumshoe looked puzzled
"that's certainly a unique name!" he laughed
"Well he's not from around here" I coughed
"Ok Pal, Whats the problem?"
"Well, we were great friends..but I wanted something more...
..and I thought maybe he did too..
And well, I accidentally kissed him..or maybe he kissed me..I can't remember..
..But it got so awkward I decided to move out.."
Gumshoe thought about it for while, his usual pondering look, moving one eyebrow up and down at a time.
Finally, he said:
"So you moved out?"
Ahh Crap!
"Don't you live with Phoenix?"
"No, no, I live in Kurain village now.."
Gumshoe's goofy smile spread across his face.
"Because you moved out of Phoenix's place, because you kissed him!
He looked so proud of himself for figuring it out.
"You can't tell anyone, Ok? - Not Edgeworth, not Franziska, and especially not Nick!"
"Oh, did you hear about Franziska and Phoen-"
he cut himself off, remembering why I was here.
It seems I'm sharing my most personal secrets with the biggest Gossip in America!
"Ok Pal, My lips are sealed!, Now tell me what happend!!
I explained everything to Gumshoe, he remained quiet apart from the odd giggle.
When I finished he blurted out.
"Yknow, I always knew you two would get together!
Edgeworth said you wouldnt, but I'll prove him wrong!"
"What?!? First of all -we aren't together! and secondly, You and Edgeworth talked about Me and Nick?"
"Yeah, all the time, Pal! I always said that you two would get together but Edgeworth said that Nick could never admit his feelings for you"
"Edgeworth thought that Nick has feelings for me?"
"Everyone does! Have you seen the way he looks at you?"
"But Gumshoe,.. we kissed.. and it meant nothing to him!"
Gumshoe was left speechless
...
"Ok Pal, It makes you jealous that Phoenix and Franziska are going out, right?"
"They're going out?!?"
"I'll take that as a yes, what if you were going out with someone? How would that make Phoenix feel?"
"He wouldnt care Gumshoe, Infact He'd probably feel happy for me...!"
"Well if he likes you like that then he'll get all protective and Jealous!"
Gumshoe was just getting my hopes up..
"Gumshoe, Theres no reason for Nick to get jealous"
"We'll see.." Gumshoe laughed.

I thanked Gumshoe and left, It was seriously dark.
Standing by the dim street lamps were women, plastered in make-up, Knee-high Black boots, Fishnet tights and mini skirts...I guess it was that kind of street!
I turned left to the train station,
The street started to get more narrow until I was faced with a brick wall that closed off the alley. I must have taken the wrong way.
I turned around to walk back when I saw a dark silhouette slowly making it's way up the alley.
My heart beat started pounding..
..It's OK Maya..they've probably just taken a wrong turn!..
I kept to the right, brushing against the wall of the alley as I walked back towards the main street.
The dark silhouette started walking towards the right, just infront of me.
I swayed over to the left..as did he.
I could tell he was a big man with a hat pulled over his eyes and a long trench cloak that he started to untie..
Not. Good.
I broke into a run trying to get past him.
He grabbed my wrist, pulled me back and forced his body up beside mine.
A low gruff voice whispered in my ear "Hello Pretty,..I'll try not to be too rough.."
Oh NO no no

Oh Mystic Ami..

Oh No..
..
Tears poured down my face
"Help!! HELP!!!!" I screamed desperately
"Shut Up!" He spat, Back-Handing me across the face.
My shawl was ripped off..
..Usually in these situations Nick is the one that saves me..
..I really am truly alone...
..Stay Strong Maya...
""Hey - STOP!" Running footsteps echoed this way.
I sank down onto the ground of the alley with my head in my arms..trying to block out the noise of fighting..trying to block out the world...until silence fell onto the street...

I felt a gentle hand ontop of mine and followed it's lead out of the alleyway into the light, still in tears.
...
"Do you live here or know anyone that does?"
I nodded meekly

The Man had a kind face, dirty blonde hair and large brown eyes.
"..a friend lives at no.42, just around the corner.. I whispered
"Ok, I'm going to take you there now..are you alright?"

He took my face in his soft hands and held it up to the light, his big brown eyes gazed deep into mine as if he had known me years...
"Did that man do anything to you?"
I shook my head

"..thank you.. I managed shakily
...
My memory is very blurry after that..
...
..I remember standing at Gumshoe's door with the kind stranger..
...
..and collapsing on on Gumshoes bed..drifting in and out of consiousness to the sounds of the very anxious murmurs of the two men...

I think i will post the next few chapters one day after each other...to keep the suspence up!

But I promise, The next few chapters will be easier and nicer to read!

aww man... loks like Maya's gonna take Gumshoe's advice. Let's ope it works out for the best. And what kind of guy is Gumshoe anyways? Letting Maya go hme in the dark on such a dangerous street. Thoguh he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed...
