OK, so this is the first time I've ever posted any of my PW fanart here! I draw this kinda stuff quite a lot, but only recently I've started scanning it in. I also had a go at some colouring and shading on Photoshop - I've only got an early version, but I don't think my art came out too bad. Comments are very welcome, hopefully you won't find my pictures too awful! Also, constructive criticism is welcome, so long as you're not too harsh on me!

I like your cute style, it's adorable to look at and pretty clean!
Right now I just have one complain: You give the characters Pearly-like foreheads, that makes them look too young. You should put the face a bit higher (especially the eyes) and it should be better then!

A few things:

- How did you do the lineart? 'Course it looks kinda... not-smooth, if you know what I mean.. It's not that I don't like it, but in my opinion, smooth lines are nicer :)
It's up to you if you want to do something about it, though.

- If you are posting images here, it's better to not post thumbnails. Since your images arent that big, you could easily post the fullsized image :)


Other than that, good job!
And the clothing change is one of the funniest things ever! XD Soo many characters, and so many funny swaps! Love it! <33

Thanks, Perrydotto - you're right about the foreheads, I always end up accidentally making the eyes too low down! In fact, you're not the only one who has noticed this! I'll try and work on this on my future drawings!

Berendsnor, thanks for highlighting some of the things I wasn't sure about - you see, I only just made an account on imageshack so i could put my drawings on here, and I wasn't exactly sure how I was supposed to put them onto the forum. So I got a forum code from imageshack or something for the pictures, and for some reason it put them up as thumbnails! I've probably just missed something really obvious here, but do you know how to put them on properly?
Also, to do the lineart I drew the pictures by hand, wenht over them in pen, scanned them in, then used threshold on photoshop. It always ends up kind pixelated , but I find it more effective to turn my kinda wishy-washy pen lines into solid black lines - but you're right, smooth lines are a lot nicer! Do you know of any better way to do this? It would be much appreciated!

Oh, and I wish I'd known at the time to save them as png rather than jpg - they all have speckly faces now!

Compression issues are always such a bummer! I do most of my art in pencil and by hand too, and I hate when I save as .jpg and they sometimes turn out fuzzy.

As for it making your images into thumbnails instead of full size, could it possibly be due to what address you used to link them?

The "link" address, aka: http://yfrog.com/05fancydressj takes you to your image set within the gallery page.

But if you were to post the "direct link" address, aka: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/7280/fancydress.jpg within your image tag on here, that should probably fix the automatic thumbnail problem! (Or so I hope XD I'm not super good at these things either haha)

Aww, so cute! Though they do have Pearl-worthy foreheads, you can draw a wide variety of characters and costumes. I have to say, your Maya drawing is my favorite.

Just keep working on that forehead, and you might reach perfection!

Also, here's how I do my line-art:

I draw in pencil sometimes, or just make a layer in Photoshop and do a rough sketch.
Once you have that, turn the opacity down to about 40, zoom in, and make a new layer.
On this new layer, trace the final lines niiiice and smooth.
