While searching Ace Attorney in my bookstore's website, I found this
It seems to be an official translation of The Art of Gyakuten Saiban.
It will be released in North America and Europe on January 20th 2010 hopefully...
The Australian release date is unknown.
According to Amazon it will cost:

You know, this one. At least, the page number is roughly the same. If it turns out it's the same Artbook, it will probably be an English translation of the original one (in Japanese) with such a title... That could be nice !

Otherwise, something as heavy as a book will likely bump the shipping costs up so high it'll cost me $150+ to buy ^^; It's already $90 NZD :(

I can see where you're coming from. I can read the Japanese set but I feel a lot more comfortable reading in my first language, English. And it's more readily available, and no stupid astronomical shipping fees!

Did you successfully preorder the comics there? I went to preorder The Phoenix Wright Files at my local Borders and the girl behind the counter said preorders are only for major releases like Twilight books, works by bestselling authors like James Patterson, and the like. Meaning, stuff that they know will have a huge demand. If other people can preorder the comics, maybe I could call Borders and ask if I can preorder this book, and maybe I just had an ignorant employee that day and it's possible after all.
Is this going to be condensed into a single book, or is it being released as a box set like the Japanese?

I think that's exactly what it's implying. I was meaning to put that on the first post, but I couldn't find a good link to show what I was intending. Also, do you mind if I use that link to show what it's a translation of? I can't believe they translated it though! I can't wait. Luckily my birthday's in that timeframe!

I thought so. I was assuming the book would be $39.99, since $40.63 is a weird price. It was a rough indicator; I knew they wouldn't sell a book with such an awkward price. But taking into account state tax here in the US...in my state it's 6% sales tax, in some states it's less. I'd have to pay slightly more than 39.99 in that case, maybe a buck or two.
For some reason I found the price on Borders.com, not Amazon, on Amazon all I could find was preorder info. Was I looking in the wrong place?

I know, right? XD I buy from otaku.com most of the time. I forget the exact amount of yen printed on the sleeve, but we ended up paying $65 for the sleeve of 2 books, including shipping. I also collect character books from the Pop'n Music series, and a $20 book ended up costing $35; a $30 book, $50.
Imports are expensive in general, and sometimes you have no choice - but this is a great opportunity because we do have a choice now, and for fans who can't afford imports, this is a shining opportunity! I can't wait for this book - since I read Japanese more slowly than English, I scribble my translations in the margins so I can blaze through quotes and bios. Official translations will be absolutely great.

Well, I'm not exactly sure where everyone found the price. Most Europeans were saying that they found the price (in Euros and Pounds) on Amazon, so I assumed the American price was also available at Amazon. But I'm sure it doesn't matter.

But what about non Americans which aren't having it sold to them and/or don't have a scanner? I need scans of them for my graphical work sometimes...
