Title: Swimming
Author: Moi, pas toi, moi.
Rating: K+
Genre: Romance/family/hopefully humor.
Status: Work in Progress
Pairing: Phoenix/Maya, Miles/Franziska, Klavier/Ema, Apollo/Trucy.
Summary: It's a hot day, and Maya wants to swim. What could go wrong? (Yeah, crap summary.)

Notes: This takes place a year after AJ, and Phoenix is a lawyer again. Apollo and Trucy have no idea, but are dating without Phoenix's knowledge.

Spoiler: Chapter 1
I'm so BORED!" said the petite girl by the window. She was leaning on the windowsill with her elbows, and staring wistfully out the window. "It's so hot, and there's nothing to do." She suddenly got up and pulled her younger 9-year-old cousin up with her. "I know! Let's go swimming! Can we, Nick?"

Pearl Fey lit up. She squealed with delight and ran into her bedroom to fetch her candy-pink swimsuit with frills. She quickly changed without Nick even giving his say-so. He sighed and flicked his hand towards Maya, meaning 'yes'. She screamed 'Yes!' too with delight, much like her cousin, Pearl. "Are you coming? It'll be plenty of fun!" If only you knew the real reason I want you to be there.

“I guess I could use a break. I’ve got loads of paperwork to sort out, though. Oh well. It can wait.” He then got up and went over to his bedroom, then got out his swimming shorts. Blue, obviously. He came out wearing them and a plain white and blue T-shirt.

When he got out, Maya was already out of her room, wearing a sarong skirt and a bikini top in the colour purple. Phoenix blushed on sight of Maya and quickly made out like he forgot to get the towels, which were actually ready in his hand. He fetched his beach bag, which hadn’t been used in a long time. Phoenix called out to Maya and told her to take Pearl and go and buy some snacks. Then he put three towels inside, all different colours so they could distinguish between the individual towels. He fetched sun block from the bathroom while Maya and Pearl were out buying some snacks, with Phoenix’s wallet, of course.

They returned, and then packed the snacks into Phoenix’s old beach bag. “Let’s go,” said Maya while grabbing Phoenix’s apartment keys, wallet and mobile phone. She rushed out of the door, then looked back at Pearl, who was fussed about how she should do her hair. “Pearly, do you have to do that NOW? Just leave it loose, it will get all tangled if it’s tied up while you’re swimming.” Pearl obeyed Maya and rushed out of the room in double-quick time. Maya sighed with exasperation and closed the door.

The trio walked towards the nearest local pool, which took about ten minutes. Along the way, they talked about loads of stuff, from the Steel Samurai to a forum they found called Court-Records and it’s awesome administrator, Croik and her love for potatoes to Edgeworth’s sexuality. Maya was arguing that he was gay, what with the tea and cravat, and Phoenix was arguing that he was straight, and it was obvious with the way he acted around Franziska.

With all this discussion, time quickly passed and they arrived at the local pool. Maya found three sun beds next to two other occupied ones. There was a whip on one of them and a cravat on the other. Strange, she thought. I think I recognize those items. No, it can’t be, they can’t be here. Is it coincidence?

She removed her sarong and took a running leap into the 11-feet deep pool, and splashed in with an expert dive. She resurfaced about a minute later at the other end of the pool. Phoenix stared, agape.

“How did you stay under for so long, Maya?” he asked in awe.

“I guess it’s all that waterfall training. Ypu have to stay underneath for a very long time, and breathing is no easy task there. You get used to it, I guess,” she replied with a shrug.

Then, Phoenix saw a man in magenta swimming shorts, arm linked with that of a woman with a light-blue bikini and hair. You can’t mistake them. Franziska… with Edgeworth?! Ha! Maya was wrong after all!


Spoiler: Chapter 2
Phoenix silently laughed to himself. He decided, however, to not let them know that they were there. He took off his T-shirt, threw it onto his sun bed, and then ran off into the pool, all professionalism lost. Miles and Franziska stared after him, wondering who he was and why he looked so familiar. They saw him resurface a few seconds later, clutching onto a girl with long black hair. Soon after, he regained his breath, and whispered something in the girl’s ear. That’s Maya! thought Miles. He pointed at Miles and Franziska and Maya smirked right at us, and then waved.

“Hiii! Miles! Franziska! Are you having fun?” She said while making kissy faces at Miles. Phoenix shook his head. He dived under, in an attempt to stay under for as long as Maya, but to no avail. He resurfaced, spluttering.

Pearl came out of the water then, as she realized that she forgot to put on sun block when she left the house, and would burn up if she didn’t. And red did not suit the Kurain School yukata. She quickly did it, and waited for a little while, so it dries up. Then she took a running dive and splashed into the water, getting Franziska wet in the process.

“AAAARRRGGGHHH! This foolishly foolish water is foolishly cold! Who would swim in this foolish water!” Franziska screamed at the top of her lungs, causing all the people in the pool, and probably the next town over, to look in their direction. Maya and Phoenix dunked down under the water with a smirk.

Franziska screamed, “FOOOLIISH FOOOOLSS!!” before jumping right on top of Phoenix.

“Hey, hey! What did I do wrong? It was Pearl who splashed you!” Phoenix said, struggling to keep from going under the water.

Finally, Franziska was pulled off him by Miles. He pulled her out of the water and carried her to the sun beds. She was still fuming, hitting Miles on the back to put her down. He set her down on the sun bed, then tied her there with her own whip. Miles ran off, laughing. He dove into the pool, and sat on the bottom for a while, until he was forced to come up again due to lack of oxygen.

Franziska broke free of her whip and took a running leap onto Miles. She swam down next to him, and kissed him underwater. They resurfaced together.

Phoenix, Maya and Pearl were all beaming at her. Pearl was sitting on the side of the pool, looking sad. She looked at Franziska with sorrowful eyes. Franziska swam perfectly over to her and said, “It’s ok, Pearl, I forgive you.”

Then the cutest thing happened. Pearl hugged Franziska around the neck, as thanks.

Around five minutes afterwards, they suddenly heard a cry of ‘Omigod, it’s him. He’s so hot!’ The gang turned their heads to see what all the commotion was about. Everyone was thinking the same thing. Klavier Gavin, should have known. He had a girl on his arm. Is that…Ema? So he finally won her over! Took ‘em long enough!

He was wearing a purple pair of swimming shorts, with the Gavinners’ logo, even though they were disbanded. Ema was wearing a back-bearing swimsuit, in black, and a miniskirt.

Phoenix and Maya looked at each other, as did Miles and Franziska. Ema spotted them and called over to them, “Mr. Wright! Maya! Omigodit’sMilesEdgeworth! Who are you?”

“You don’t know ME? I am the famous prosecuting prodigy, Franziska von Karma, daughter of Manfred von Karma!” she stated proudly. Just then, Phoenix caused a big wave by getting out of the pool and jumping back in with a cannonball, which splashed all over Franziska, thus drowning her last three words out.

“F-FOOOOLLISHH FOOOOL!!!”

Uh-oh, she’s mad now, thought Phoenix.

Awesome Amy!You can really wright!Lol!I loved the plot...hated the ships bt since we're bff's I guess I made an exeption to read a Phoenix/Maya story.Never doing it again.I wish I was as good as you...*sigh* and if I was then I wish I had ANY idea how to post fanfiction.I gotta get used to this court-records thing...anyway...can't wait for chapter 2!(Actually I can...but it seems...nicer this way...!Lmao!)

And, just so you know, I just might update this tonight. Nat, there is supposed to be a space after full stops, commas, etc. No spaces is kinda blinding.

This chapter is better than chapter 1! The story's waaay better now. I wasn't that disturbed reading it with the ships and all but pretty good story! Hope chapter 3 is even better!

I liked the story. I thought it was really nice, some nice pairing and a good plot. The writing is pretty good. This was funny and got nice descriptions. <3 =3
