The japanese episode this week was... meh. I still liked it, but the last couple episodes have made some pretty high standards. I'm glad that the Arrancar Encyclopedia's back though~
... and I'm getting really impatient. Ishida still hasn't shown up yet *ttly not biased* and I heard from a friend of mine who reads the manga that they haven't forgotten about him and he'll show up later, but...... aaaaaaaagh I hate waiting. *paces back and forth*

Hmm, that's an interesting plot... and Tite Kubo will actually have more input on this one. Well, it could turn out well, so I'm fairly hopeful for it, but if it's seriously going to filler before the Ulquiorra fight, then I'm going to start reading the manga. I'm getting desperate here ;-;

i guess it's fair for ukitake to help shunsui if stark is the first espada though. i want to see their bankais though. also, i can't believe soifon and hitsugaya beat barragan and halibel. i mean really. HITSUGAYA? everyone knows he's the weakest captain. i don't think the top three espada are going to go down that easily, there will probably be someone/something for the vizards to kill.

Hurr, I'm probably gonna have most of the new resurrecciones spoiled for me at Anime Expo this weekend, but I've promised myself to hold off until it officially goes into filler, meaning that I shall read the new chapters after tomorrow~
I flipped out (in the good way) when I saw Ichigo and Ulquiorra in the preview... but I know well enough now that it's probably just a review of how the battle starts, they clash swords or whatever a few times, and then it has the nerve to say TO BE CONTINUED >:[ *sigh* Oh well, at least I won't have to worry about spoilers after reading the manga. :]

Honestly there is more to this episode but I really couldn't stand watching it since it was so boring & I don't think we need to have this filler during the first season timeline. The so-called "plot" of this filler hasn't even really started yet, so I hope they can redeem themselves during the next few episodes or else I'm going back to the manga.

He's back. Kaname's back. That means the one fight I'm actually interested in seeing could possibly almost conceivably happen.

So yeah, I've started my frantic manga-reading sessions to catch up, all the way back from the pilot chapter (which was fascinatingly different... though I found Rukia's whole "Honey I Shrunk Myself" thing to be kinda cool :P). I'm currently on 330 and hopefully I'll get to all the not-animated chapters by tomorrow. :D
And if I read all the manga so far correctly, episode 227 is a combo of two manga chapters, one of the same name and the other.... I think it was Bleach .5 or something... can't remember anymore. So technically this episode and next week's are just manga extras that they haven't put in yet, just extended (Bleach on the Beach, anyone?). But yeah, I kinda like seeing these animated; I probably said this already, but I'm obsessed with animation quality, so when I saw the colors in 227 I flipped out in happiness. They also added in more characters (like Ishida-- NOT THAT I WAS LOOKING FOR HIM) to lengthen the episode, but I have no complaints~

Well, look. Let's think of a Bleach character. Like Chad. I always thought Chad had a great design and he even has my favorite power: that just one big giant mechanical looking fucking super arm thing.
But his character is so weird. He's like this big huge gorilla that lumbers around going "uh uh uh me love... friend" and then gets beaten around because he's also autistic and has poor cognitive skills. Nobody around him ever really notices his existence even. Like, he adds some grunts into the conversation, but everybody else does too so he doesn't really have a place. Does he have a goal in life or a reason to follow Ichigo?
A lot of Bleach's cast kind of feels disjointed like that. Kubo just strings together large batches of one-note characters to artificially enhance his world and in a sense, it kind of works. It at least feels populated. It's just, once you look at the cardboard characters a little more closely and they tip over, it feels strangely eerie and empty.
A large majority of them are just awful, awful.

Thus far, Ichigo irritates me, sorry I know a lot of people love main characters (oh really?) but so far it feels like DBZ again with him, Oh no he is losing, omg he suddenly got badass, oh he is losing again, badass... losing... new unexplainable badass moment.. WHAT!
I feel some characters are lacking and kept together with sticky tape. I might change my opinion as I read more but it is the minor characters I am liking more so far, heck I like Kon and Chad more than Ichigo, the main ones seem interchangable and dull.
Plenty of manhood substituting though.
