Hi there. I like also American Sitcoms like Diff'rent Strokes with "What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?", Punky Brewster with her "Oh-ho.", Family Matters with "Look what you did.", The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air with Will Smith's beatboxing, The Jackson 5ive Cartoon with their songs (R.I.P. Michael Jackson) and others as well.

What's your favorite one?

Plz reply.

Fresh Prince is badass. I still love that show.

I also like Home Improvement.

Family Matters I say I like only because I watched it all the time as a kid.

American family sitcoms, the good ol' days.

I love Fresh Prince too, as with Diff'rent Strokes and Family Matters. Theres also The Simpsons, which counts as a sitcom, Friends and Punky Brewster, grew up with these sitcoms. ^^

American sitcoms have large tendencies to be very bad. A particularly awful era for me was the 80s. And the 90s. You know they're still pretty awful even today, huh.

The majority of them yeah, but some make it out as 'classics' or die out due to age.

It has to depend on your perspective. A sitcom is a situational comedy by definition. The essential formula is main cast goes through some situation that envelops the episode, going through possible shenanigans to get to the solution, depending on the sitcom, each episode can contribute to an overarching plot (as most do), or each be standalone, with small threads to tie it together in the finale. You can't be going into it expecting wholesome amazing story and character development, just the funniest jokes, etc. You'll come out with an outlook like, oh there all terrible.

Most sitcoms include the following parts which generally make them popular: An overarching plot, either one likeable or relateable character, humorous quips and jokes in the style that the show creates for itself, and periodically serious moments.

Actually, they are. But this topic was more about classic sitcoms. The ones you mentioned are newer. But, technically, that's not stipulated.

I've recently taken up watching Fraiser.

I'm not sure why. I just have.

Though really, the only show I'm head over heels for is Seinfeld.

In recent years, Scrubs has been off and on decent and The Office is pretty good. Though in The Office's case, I didn't really like the episodes after the Michael Scott Paper Company merged with Dunder Mifflin.

I absolutely love Frasier and Seinfeld and I love the Cosby show as well, save the last few seasons.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

I don't remember the OP saying anything about this thread being about classic American sitcoms...

Anyways, my favorites are Malcolm in the Middle, Home Improvement, That 70's Show, The Office, and I like to watch Fresh Prince from time to time.

That's why I said it wasn't stipulated.

But it could have been assumed since the OP did only mention classic sitcoms as sitcoms he(/she) likes.

Fuck the Seinfeld.... (zuddy would get this)

Anyway, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air went from a corny show to a really nonsensical show that had absolutely no direction whatsoever...but for some reason I can sit and watch the show without ever noticing that fact.

The only sitcom I truly despise though, is Unhappily Ever After. The worst ripoff of Married...with Children out there(if there are any other ripoffs), and it tried to be edgy by attacking everything with the worst delivery. It also had a talking rabbit. I wanted to die.

I'm always confused when it comes to sitcoms. People ask me "Hey Eli, what's your favorite sitcom?"
I go "Probably Curb your Enthusiasm". And they either go "Mine too!" or "That's not a sitcom. It's a comedic show"
So if you're talking about shows with a laughtrack I hate almost all of them. If you're talking about the comedic shows on HBO I adore them (East Bound and Down's a new favorite).

Laser eye surgery destroys your cornia and is terrible when you're growing older. That said, I've got glasses of -9.5, -10, so it wasn't that bad a guess.

I think over here the most popular American sitcoms get shown, and they're all terrible.

I haven't watched sitcoms for years. But I used to like a lot of them (not saying they are all top quality or anything). Some of the ones I enjoyed the most were:

- Growing Pains
- Family Matters
- 3rd Rock from the Sun
- Full House
- Perfect Strangers
- Fresh Prince
- Friends
- Home Improvement

brings back some good memories :pearl:
