Since my query on the FAQ thread is quickly going nowhere, I figured I'd make a topic to get the answer.

When you receive a warning, for whatever reason, does it ever "expire" or is it permanent? :yuusaku:

Was it really worth making this topic?
As Gozu said in the FAQ, if you want a specific question answered by a mod do it by PM. They're much more likely to notice and to respond to it this way.

That said, why are you desperate to have the question answered? As long as you don't "reoffend" whether you had a previous warning or not isn't important.

It expires. I've gotten a warning... Once in my entire time here. It raised my level to 1. It disappeared not long afterwards.

The staff doesn't actually use these, though, to determine punishments, so don't worry about it.

I wasn't even aware these existed until my first one came up. I assume the only reason they started popping up is because the newbie mods tried using them. Really don't worry about it. They're thoroughly pointless, since verbal warnings have long been the favored tool of the staff to get points across.

I was taking Gozu's advice. And I'm not desperate, but it was bugging me, and the admins/mods were apparently not interested in answering, especially since Lind said he asked the same question and got a similar (lack of a) response.

Thank you, HH. That was very helpful. Image

I can not answer a question when I do not know the answer.

Yes. But, like a warning from the police, it only means that they're not going to tolerate any more shenanigans.

I would have appreciated it if you had told me that. That was at least an answer and I would know my question wasn't simply being ignored.

We don't use the official warning system to determine punishments. Like everyone has said, it is not something to worry about.
