Out of those of you that have played Miles Edgeworth AAI, what would you rate it out of 10?

I haven't seen a topic like this (please say there hasn't been one) so...

Well, I've played it and... I can't really give a rating for it per se. Since I couldn't understand everything in the game. ^_^;;

But I can put it in my order of games from favorite to least favorite, which would be:

PW:AA & AAI:ME (Tied for first place.)
PW:T&T
PW:JFA
AJ:AA

So, there you go. This is just my personal opinion, though.

If it's that good without understanding it, I take it it's worth getting?

I'd say it's good, too, but I didn't understand much of it either. I only understood the whole story after reading this site's case descriptions. The story has a lot going on, though it isn't as epic as Trials & Tribulations was, IMO. Still, it has good plot twists. The characters are all very charismatic and I liked them, the cameos and references to past games in the series were good too. It also has one of the best villains so far, in my opinion.

Still, if I could, I would have changed a few things, especially the difficulty. Not saying things are obvious, I'm saying you are barely penalized for doing things in a wrong way, you always have a lot of chances to wild guess if stuck.

I'd give the game a 8 or 9. And, while I am at it, I give the music a 10.

music is excellent.

gameplay is a little too easy.

honestly, i can't figure out very much of the plot as i can barely read it.

too many cameos. some were really lame.

overall, it plays like a pw game, really. i can't really score the game, but you get the gist of it.

I would give it an 8 or 8.5. Above average for an AA game but not my absolute favorite.

(There has been a review topic, but not a score topic. But it looks like most of these posts are reviews and not scores!)

I think that I'll wait for the English localisation, but is it really that easy without being able to understand/the most of the text?

It's probably easier to play when you don't understand anything at all, because you just have to press the buttons to continue on or just wildly guess. But, then it's kind of boring, because you don't understand anything! I understand some Japanese, so it makes it a little harder for me because I'm constantly trying to look up words and kanji and such. ^_^;;

Well, um, I didn't play it but may I ask the ones who played it how this new, er, stuff with going around and so on was. Do u think it's better 'n the "old" stuff with only the upper body of the figures? What would u prefer for a next game?
Cause I'm a bit afraid I won't like that new style :adrian:

Personally,I feel that the new style is really good, possibly even better than the 1st person sprites of the other 4 games.

The sprites are a lot more detailed and the angle of sprites allows for intricate animations that simply wouldn't be possible in the original style. It also helps that we can see Edgeworth, as seeing his reactions to events helps us to empathise with him better than the previous protaganists and gives some added humour in parts.

The use of the 3rd person perspective and the mini sprites is also a plus. The mini sprites have a lot of charm, and allow for more characters to be on screen at once.

So yeah, I like it.

I did too. There are a couple of scenes I can think of that would not have been possible in the old style, just because there were so many people present! Being able to see them all as little sprites at least gave you a better sense of who was present even if they weren't speaking, who was on what side, etc.

It would have been nice back in JFA if you could actually see Pearl smacking Phoenix, rather than just "OOF! She hit me."

On the other hand, now that they can have so many more characters around at once, I think they went a little overboard in a few places...

I played the demo and I loved it. I actually can't wait for this game to come out. I love all the AA games.

I have the Japanese version and quickly discovered I don't have the patience to look everything up, and it's no fun only half-understanding what's going on. I'm going to play it in English first and maybe then try in Japanese. From the demo and the bit I played in Japanese, it looks really good.

Lovely game. I give it an 8 or an 8.5 out of 10. It's only second to GS4 because that was my favourite game. I loved the characters in it, especially Kazura and Wakana.

Expanding on Nose's point about 3D Perspectives, it's much better. In the GS series, you always see the Prosecution and Defense bench from Udgey's eyes. It's not really complicating but compared to the GK style of gameplay, I love this game more.
