"I'm fine," she lied, reaching for a knife, only to fall back over. Weakling. Even with all that training, she couldn't even get up. Sighing and shaking her head, she tried again. This time she managed to stand, but shakily. She was cautious, not reaching for her knives but prepared to attack at any moment.

Forticius had lost most of his memories, he only recalled his origins, his plans for the demon revolution and his hatred, he only recognised few people in these moments: The 7 sins, Satan, Abraham Van Hellsing and Jasmine.
The seals that his titled embowed in him where broken, his true potencial was released after so much time, the last step to complete his plans, was Jasmine.
His body was becoming more and more human, as he went back to the human world, in the meaning time it was time for him to reclute soldiers for his revolution...

Meanwhile, the dancers' performance had finished, and the room had begun to shift a bit-- more people came in, a few left, while the stage was reorganized. A flourish of lights spun around the room before centering on a man wearing a mask and flamboyant cape, who appeared onstage in a puff of smoke, thus starting the magic show.
The green-eyed man gave a quick look to the left and right, before placing his finger directly onto the list of names. A tiny green spark erupted from his finger every time he touched a name, occasionally skipping over this name, singling out specific low- or high-odd names and tapping them. Finally, after going across the list, he pulled a pen out and began to jot down names and bets onto the new paper delivered to him.
Finally finished, he waited, enjoying the show and patiently waiting for it to end, signaling the end of the betting. He would then go to observe the "event" actually take place and enjoy the real entertainment.

Hubris wandered through his sub-world, pondering his next step. He didn't like this: so far, his easiest method of eliminating Hunter and for revenge was no longer available, now ruling the demon world; something he felt was a foolish choice on Forticius's part, and something he was happy he would never have to discuss, believing Forticius to be disposed of.
He started looking, after a uncountable period of time, for someone eligible to be the next sacrifice. He needed to pull another sibling out, and at this point, any would do. Portal after portal, he searched...

Finally, the final act started. The magician on stage made his announcement that he needed ten "volunteers" for this act. Automatically, the spotlights turned on and ran around the audience, before a light shown down on several people in the crowd, including the green-eyed man.
He had to give them credit, the people running this "show" knew how to make something look convincing. While it seemed as if every person had been randomly picked, the ten "volunteers" had already been predetermined by who was participating in the back-alley gambling event. Each had made a reservation (untraceable), and their turned-in-tickets acting as both the given bid, and an aid for where the lights were to be directed at. Most of them had been alone, only a couple having the gall to bring families or acquaintances with them; regardless, all ten people, the green-eyed man among them, made their way to the stage as directed by the magician.
'First, to play along.' He thought eagerly. 'Then the games.'

San Desire was leant against the white room's doorway, smiling at Inner. "And believe me, I know that you know I'm a demon. I've got a knack for that. Now, before you try and kill me, which I really wouldn't advise, by the way, bear in mind I did help this delightful young lady, and I mean neither of you harm."
San Desire stood up, walking forward.
"Now then. I believe we've met, in the office where you told me you don't deal with Forticius. However, the freelancer took the case, and is hunting Forticius as we speak. Believe me, my friend and I are very keen to have him dealt with. Hubris is particularly keen...you have met Hubris, haven't you? He's a miserable old shit, but I digress."
He straightened up to his full height.
"My name is San Desire. You might've heard of me, too. And I want Forticius dead."

"You shouldn't have followed us," she said with a little concern. Would Inner listen? Or would he attack anyway? She remembered attacking a demon what seemed like a long time ago. But she never learned the demon's name. Back then, she didn't even care.
"...So, what do you want from us? You know full well why I'm no match for the king of demons," Jasmine said. "Even when I'm pumped full of blood, I'm not ready. And I won't be unless I train my ass off. Even after training, there is the huge possibility that I'd die trying to kill him. There is no way I'm ready just yet. Could you please just leave us alone for now? We'll get in touch with you once I am ready." To die.

The first part of this act was simple, at first: hypnotism, with a little methodical twist here and there. It was mostly suggestion and mentalists tricks, at first; convincing some of them that they were somewhere they were not, that red was green, etc. Finally, however, the magician pulled out a real trick: one by one, he put all the volunteers to 'sleep', before making them simultaneously stand and move as one in various exercises (standing on one foot, dancing, so forth).
The act wasn't truly memorable up until his finale trick. "Thank you all for being such a wonderful audience! For this last trick, I am going to, before your very eyes, do the impossible..."
The magician walked past all ten volunteers, still standing under his spell, before turning and addressing the audience. "To not only make them disappear, but to make them vanish completely, right here-- right now!"
With a sudden blast of wind, a smokebomb went off, concealing all ten of the people onstage with the magician. With an almost immediate wave of his arms and cape, the smoke dispersed all across the room, and upon the stage, only the magician remained, surrounded by the now vacant chairs. All the people who had been on the stage were now gone.

The green-eyed man stretched his arms above his head as he proceeded down the walkway that was hidden beneath the stage.
The trick and mechanism was a simple one-- so as to not give the impression that they had really fled offstage in the smoke, the stage had been rigged with special trapdoors that were placed inconspicuously at various placed. The entire final act had to be memorized by the those who wished to participate in this event ahead of time, as it was necessary to know exactly who had to stand where from which seat. The chairs and magician remained behind as the floor beneath each man fell open, to quickly swallow them up before shutting again, and remaining sealed until the next show.
Simple enough, as the small trapdoors had thick cushions laid under them for each person to land on. Although, getting in was always the easy part; getting out was slightly more difficult...
The green-eyed man could hear the faintest traces of the magician's closing words to the stupefied audience. As the lot of "volunteers" descended deeper into the facility, the voices from above became more and more faint. Above, those who would assume they (the false volunteers) would be returned after a time, and below, what seemed like an endless staircase, leading to the arena, where all the greedy gamblers would watch their hard earned cash either multiply or vanish right before their eyes.
It was almost time for the real show.
((Basically, whole act was staged, and cleverly hidden trapdoors dropped these high-class gamblers (under the cover of a quick and short-lived smokescreen) down into the entrance for a secret tunnel that leads deeper and deeper into a hidden area of the casino. Hooray for long winded sentences. XD))

Hoping that Hubris would appear, San Desire tried to keep Inner talking.
"I'm not a lesser demon, in fact. No, I'm greater, definitely. Look me up if you need to, I'm on Facebook. Just kidding. Besides..." San Desire glared into Inner's eyes, feeling his power kick in. "...you could have anything. I'm a demon. Weaponry, powers, money...you need it, I can make it happen. Anything you want..." There was no way Inner would be able to resist, not unless he had a Spirit Relic, which San Desire seriously doubted. He'd checked that the only items powerful enough to stop his power and his regeneration cycle had well guarded by their previous owners, coincidentally his worst enemies.. Of course, several hunters searched for them, but only one had been ever found, and that hunter was still out there.
Hawkeye Starstream. He'd found the Spirit Relic known as the Shifting Blade long ago, and had dedicated his life to defeating San Desire. No one knew where he was, now.

Hawkeye swung the Morphing Blade at the creature's chest, creating a deep gash, which disappeared almost instantly. He swore, and flipped backwards, studying the huge beast, the hooked tentacles, the slavering mount, the burning eyes. This was Grandeur's Guardian, one of the Great Guardians, who guarded the tombs of the Six Magicians: Grandeur, Polaris, Deiter, Rontai, Netrek and Freinar. He'd already defeated Polaris's Peril and Deiter's Doom, but Grandeur's Guardian, the most unimaginitively named of the six great Guardians, was proving a challenge.
With a roar it swund one of its hooked tentacles at Hawkeye, who ducked and sprung at the creature's neck, propelling himself with a jet of Star Energy fired from his hand. The Morphing Blade swung once, and the creature roared, gurgled, and died, crashing to the ground.
In a fountain of shimmering energy, Hawkeye appeared a short distance away, brushing himself off.
"It's always the throat, isn't it..." He muttered, and walked towards the archway which would bring him to Grandeur's Chamber, and his Sarcophugus, and the key to opening the Gates of Relinquish once more and retrieving the third and fourth Spirit Relics.

With a quick jump between planes, Hubris forced himself to as near a location as he could to San-- Incidentally, a mirror inside of the same house that Inner and Jasmine resided. Crawling out from a hanging mirror, Hubris gingerly landed to the floor, before taking a look around. He could see San standing at a doorway, and heard voices. He patiently waited, leaning against the empty wall beside the mirror, and continued to listen

Perhaps feasting would be an inaccurate phrase. It was his own way to describe it, but it was more along the lines of passively "basking" in the pride of those around him. The stronger one felt about themselves, the more of an effect if gave, and thus the stronger Hubris felt. And that was when he didn't meddle.
Hubris gave the girl another glance before closing his eyes and waiting for somebody in the next room to go ballistic.

San Desire turned to look at Hubris, axe materialising in hand.
"It's not nice to eavesdrop, but I'll forgive you on account that you actually came." Turning back to Inner, he said, "This is my...colleague, Hubris, the aforementioned insurance. Believe me, I wouldn't even try taking him on. Now then," San Desire looked Inner straight in the eye. "I'll leave your house, and take Hubris with me, and give him whatever difficult and seemingly pointless favour he asks of me, on one condition. The girl." He said, indicating Jasmine.

Jasmine knew what Inner's answer would be before he even opened his mouth. But she also knew that two powerful demons against one hunter...No matter how great of a fighter Inner was, in Jasmine's mind, he'd stand no chance. She clenched her fists and walked into the room.
"...I'll go..." she said hesitantly. "Just leave him alone."

Inner stoped Jasmine "Brat, I told you to go and sleep, but now that I think about it, I think I will use this oportunity to teach you some tricks" Inner quickly took out the necronomicon as he chanted in a unaudible voice "I see no reason to bother too much gods with a shit like you Mr. Desire, but your friend..." inner cut his wrist, the blood started to cover him like a second skin, his aura rised dramatically "I promised that old pervert I would take care of the girl, and I`m aman of word".
The door suddenly opened "Inner what the fuck-" Hunter and Samael entered the room and stood spechless "Inner, you invited them?" Inner glared at him "I guess not" hunter smiled and he recognized Samael "Oh wait, you are the guy I invited over for tea" Inner facepalmed "Idiot, instead of doing cheap poor comedy, GET YOUR FUCKING SWORD OUT AND HELP" hunter chuckled and took out his katana.
Samael slowly turned to his reaper form "You, the sin of pride, breaking the balance, you must be destroyed" he took out his scythe and rushed against Hubris...

Hubris's smile broke, as did his entire head. Splitting open in a t-cross at the center, his face slid apart as a large spire of glass sped from his open skull, impaling Samael halfway across the room.
"A lesson should to be learned, O' executioner of God." The two parts of his mouth still moved as he talked. It was a creepy and unnerving sight, how calm he was while the crystal spike jutted unbalancingly from his head. "Since the dawning of thought to man some six-thousand plus years ago, Sin crafted upon them their nature. Give it several millennia, and the means of that process is now reversed. I do not cause hubris in intellect, intellect now causes Hubris."
Still pinning Samael with his face-spike, Hubris reached over to the mirror next to him. "Your old-world methods are obsolete, gramps; the scales that show the world order have long since been replaced." As Hubris touched it, a second crystal spike shot from the hanging mirror, towards Samael's head.

A line split down the center of his forehead, and a vertical third eye appeared upon Hubris's forehead. The room was bathed in a gentle light, and what looked like strings trailed from every person's head to Hubris's chest. "How much are you going to push me before I have to truly unbalance your world!? Do not forget that there ARE others around here."
Hubris gingerly plucked along the ethereal strings, stopping at the nearly faded one trailing from Samael. "None are exempt from me... and no old-world fool will try to put me in a crib with no gates." Hubris gave the string a hefty tug, before grabbing with both hands and heaving, trying to rip out part of Samael's very essence.

Inner rushed towards Jasmine to a unhuman speed, until he catched her "Now brat, be a good girl and let the grown ups do their jobs, ok?", while this happened, hunter ran to face San Desire "Hello mister demon, what a nice weather we got tonight, isn`t it?" he took his katana in his right hand "I must admit that you look like quite the oponent, but like someone said, lets prepare for the worst but hope for the best" hunter smiled.

"Now, brat, be a good girl and let the grown-ups do their jobs, okay?" he asked. Jasmine struggled futilely for a second. Then, she stopped, knowing it was getting her nowhere.
"You don't understand..." Jasmine said. She sighed. "Forticius wanted my soul for a reason. He's probably looking for me right now. Can you really expect me to believe that he won't try to pull something when he does find me? And he will find me. He's the king of demons, after all. He might make me turn against any allies that happen to be with me at the time. At least with San and Hubris, I know that if he does do that, they'll do whatever it takes to stop me. They're demons. I wouldn't really mind turning against them anyway. All they want me to do is help their cause. I personally don't know what they're thinking with that...They don't really care about me. And I don't care about them. Maybe that's what's best in this situation." She sighed, having laid all her cards on the table. Jasmine was pretty sure Inner wouldn't support her, despite her reasoning.

Hubris ran through a list of options: he could try a summoning now and pray the ramifications of using the girl as a sacrifice (or the time wasted by attempting to break that barrier) wouldn't cost him too severe; he could attempt to assault this collector a new way (purely physical and directly spiritual); or he could....

Hubris broke into a sick smile. 'Trump card time.' "I left the smallest piece of myself inside your body, when I returned your soul-fragment. I feel it, it's has remained all this time, undisturbed, gestating; embedded in the flesh of your heart, beyond where the surgeon's scalpel can reach-- well, not without doing irrevocable damage, at least. Now that I am ready, I can control it as freely as one of my hands. It and I, are on a hair's trigger to pierce your organs from the inside, should you try anything I don't like. NOW! I'll remove it if you can complete this bothersome ordeal for me: destroy Samael, here and now, or I shall crystallize the cells of Hunter's body from the inside-out, and shred his brain to bits in his own skull, for good measure. Got it memorized?"
((To be fair, I have had this planned since the game ended last time. A bit premature in execution, but I would have to agree with my character-- this is a darn good time to pull out this threat.))

The fluids passed through Hunter`s throat, and he slowly regained the memories about his last encounter with Hubris "I see... I wont bother Uriel again, so if you want to kill me do it now, Sammy wont try to stop us, am I right?", Samael stood motionless like nothing happened "...Obbey your fate".
Inner was shocked at hunter`s desicion "Very well lesser demon lets see what you got" inner threw many knives covered in blood at bullet speed aiming Desire as started to get prepared for another raid

'How was my body solid for that attack?? Was it Samael's trick?' Hubris thought. With the sudden insult, he had begun to lose his focus, and now beneath his flesh, grinding could be heard. It was like the gnashing of thousands of teeth, or the sounds of glass rubbed to powder.
"You sick idiot. Two more seconds and you would have had your insides full of glass, hahaha! ...You don't seem to get just how big of a sacrifice you are making. Let me help you sink it in." Hubris said, raising an arm dramatically. "Your death will herald in emotion. Not even the stone hearted or the peaceful of mind can deny the most basic of instincts... such despair, hatred, unrest; it would make a lovely doorway for one of my kin." Hubris grinned. He wanted to give this one more shot. "That girl over there, I think she would make a perfect sacrifice for Acedia, once you die. And any of the people of this village who know of your passing-- your death would herald in more 'demons', such a fitting end for such a selfish hunter."
"As a hunter, you let your pride drive you. 'I won't obey a demon'-- HA! Pride and Prejudice!" Hubris dropped his arm and pointed at Hunter. "You are so enshrouded in sin, and blind to the truth! I deem you UNFIT to be a demon slayer!"
Rumbling, Hubris finally made a move, his hands thinning into blades and spinning around his back to slice at Hunter. As he did, the remote fragment lodged within Hunter's heart started to move, slowly traveling through the flesh of the heart upward. It had yet to leave the organ, or puncture it...

"I want you to feel some emotion for once, dammit!" He barked, losing his cool. It seemed that Hunter's attitude was the only thing thta could bother him, the fact that he had a blade running him through now seeming to be all too important. "You are so uncaring, it makes me sick! What kind of human acts like this in the face of danger, what creature cares not for it's own life! It's like you lack that 'fight or flight' command in your fragile human brain of yours! What the hell is wrong with you, what is it that makes you 'tick'!?"
The remote Hubris-fragment finally burst through the heart, and tore through Hunter's heart muscles. It continued to head up, now traveling towards the spine.
