I love the Studio Ghibli films, they're brilliant. The movies I've seen so far are Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, and Kiki's Delivery Service. I really want to see the others, especially Ponyo, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Monoke, Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away.

Love Studio Ghibli, Spirited Away being my favourite movie. I've seen that and Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Monoke, and Kiki's Delivery Service. Yet to see the new Disney dub of Ponyo though.

I finally went to watch Ponyo yesterday, and imo it was really good considering the audience. Since I liked it though, I have to nitpick a bit:
- Although I'm really impressed that they went with the hand-drawn style for the movie, I was in a bit of a shock when the movie started because about 2 minutes before that, they were showing the preview for The Princess and the Frog (reallyreally wanna see that movie) and the change in animation was a bit jarring. I get the artistic reasons though, so I can let it slide for this movie.

- My brothers kept asking, "Why does the dude have make-up on?" and my mom kept nagging at me, asking me if it was some cultural difference. I still don't get why Ponyo's father had that funny make-up on, but it barely bothered me. I actually really liked his english voice... his face was just kinda ugly though XD

- At the end, they had the original Ponyo theme translated to English, which was cool and all, but suddenly they remixed it... o.o; it wasn't so bad because I was crossing my fingers saying, "please don't rap, please don't rap", but for a Cyrus sibling and Jonas brother, it wasn't completely terrible.

But yeah, cute and heartwarming :]
