@Manella: The one problem with that analogy that I see is that the DVD casemakers are getting closer to Hi Def all the time. The Blu Ray is already pretty much perfectly realistic, i.e game accurate, so now it's adding the bonus features and commentary. I think that before long making the choice of casemaker will be between whether you need the commentary, or extra features and versatility, or whether you want things to be much simpler, but only have the movie itself.

Extras are good, aren't they?

Just because PWLib a supposedly harder, you use something (considered) inferior just because it's easier? That would be a bad conclusion.

It actually proves that some people don't CARE about what's best/most accurate. The famous and crappy Rule of Easy.

Then use pirated medicines just because it's cheaper, no matter if they don't actually do anything: what matters is that you're paying less for it. Way to go to QC.

Anyway, I know that most people are stupidly lazy, and some are even lazier when caring about what's better. So, if you don't want to stand out of the crowd, it's your decision.

What's sad is that some people are killing good games when they could make them be memorable.

What is the point of:
- compare solutions
- say one (A) is better
- not using A afterward

Comparing Lib's new features to extras in DVDs isn't accurate.
Shinku's not an extra. It'll make PWLib easier, and be the first step towards the Editor.
Mikumo is damn certainly not an extra. It could easily be its own casemaker, focused on AAI.
The Updater is not an extra, at all.

Every little thing added to PWLib improves its quality, and maybe even makes it easier, or more accessible.

If you're gonna be down about this, you might as well see PWLib as BetaMax tapes.

Why BetaMax (they are WAY old, older then VHS)?

But DVDS and so on own BetaMax, so calling PWLib a BM would be exactly the opposite idea?

???
no...betamax was a better product...but vhs was cheeper to make and less expensive and thus vhs survived as a product while the other died out.

(Such a great use, huh)

I completely dissagree!

Don't give up on 1.2!

Once it releases tons of people should be coming in!

If that's not true, then you can start thinking about not working it anymore.

Just wait and see.

Atlawl, believe me, 1.2 will DEFINETELY bring tons of people. Probably not as much as the Editor will, but a LOT.

I'm picturing times when the Integration Languages and the Editor are all live. Then PWLib users will increase like nuts. Good times in the horizon.

Also, the Updater will help on this, too. Instead of yearly releases, maybe 2 or 3 an year with updates not as big as 1.2 is for 1.1, but big.

I'm not saying that I'll quit it.

I said that if PWLib is to be like BetaMax, then I would give up (since it would be 100% sure it would fail).

But we can't make the VHS/BetaMax compare in here. Basically as you can't compare DVDs and Blu-Ray.

PWLib's quality offset any easyness and such on other solutions. PWLib is special, different, specially with its 1.2's new features (Mikumo Extension is a top example!).

PWLib is HARDER because it WANTS to provide more POWER. But harder is relative. I heard people saying PWLib is simple to use.

Unfortunately it's been very difficult for me and KSA to both get a period of time where we can sit down and really plan out the story so either one of us can begin the coding. We've got the very basics of the story planned but we haven't been able to plan dialog or anything yet due to our increasingly busy life-styles.
Rest assured, the moment we get some kind of direction on how the characters interact, the project will blaze through (Just like I got Case 1-1 done in just about 1 day)

Also can we stop with this silliness of comparing case makers? It never ends well. Just use the one you want to use and leave it at that.
If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!

Hey guys. I need some help with screenshots for the bg reference book.

I only need someone that can take good quality screenshots of the top and bottom of the pwlib screen with a bg on them

without the bar at the top and the same size as each other (Maybe Comaster but he is already busy with other things, so.)

Help would be awesome and I WILL credit you in the book.

EDIT: It would also make things alot easier if you could also put a thin black line around the shot.

So take screenshots like this.

(It is bad quality)

Thanks! :godot:

Explaining the error messages:

The first one is that you have a blank line with spaces or tab only.
The second one is that you don't have the load function.
The third one is that you forgot the " on the parameters.
The forth one is that the function you want to run doesn't exist. That function you tried is wrong.. You don't set lipsync to ema or apollo. You use setlipsynctochar.

Lipsyncing on PWLib is either to the char or to no one. When you order it to lipsync to the char on screen, all chars that are used will be lipsyncing. It's not a per-char thing.

The texture for each evidence must be loaded with
loadtexture
You specify the id you want to use and the graphic. For example:
loadtexture(30400,"PW/evidence/badge.png");
You'll have the badge gfx on if 30400. The id you decide yourself.
Sign in for the beta allows you to have a chance to be selected to be one of PWLib 1.2's beta testers.

@someone70

You can use dxdiag to see the CPU as well (and the video card info) on the fly.

AIGE logs the video card name and some other info just after it loads the Render Engine. Look for Video Card Name on the log file.

@jaydrick0620
Check if any program has it open (AIGE only keeps the script files open when it loads them).
