The only reason to bring Morgan back would be if mediums played a huge part in any of the future games. There's no need for that, considering the way the new games are set up--we have batshit magicians now.
As for Takita or any of the characters coming back, I wouldn't mind as long as they had a purpose. Personally, I can't see Takita taking on a Larry role, because he has no real personal connection to Odoroki. It's not like they hit it off and became BFF. His story had a pretty clear ending and the only way to bring him back would be more mafia-related stories. Which, hey, maybe they'll do, but I sort of doubt it. (The part that interested me most about Takita was his operation. CLEARLY HIS PARENTS WERE SAVING UP FOR BLACK JACK'S SERVICES. must write fic...)
As for Makoto's plot being unfinished, well, Maki's was left deliberately vague--perhaps even moreso than hers--and I can't see him making an appearance again either. (Wouldn't mind being proven wrong, I like Maki)
Of the characters we might see again, Hamigaki and Lamiroir lead the list of probability for me.

-New prosecutor, may or may not be related to a character we've already seen
-Payne will prosecute 5-1
Now what I'm interested in is how they are going to give the player a tutorial for GS5...
GS1-It was Phoenix's first case and so it made sence for someone to explain the basis for him
GS2-Phoenix's was KO and could not remember anything so it made sence to explain the basics again
GS3-Mia's "first" case so one again it made sence for a nervous rookie to need some quick coaching.
GS4-Odoroki's first case, made sence for him to need help
Now if they make Odoroki have amnesia that would be pretty lame, I could see either
A-A flashback case with Kirihito as the playable character, I doubt this will happen but it could work
B-The defendant could ask Odoroki how he is going to prove him/her innocent and Odoroki could explain the process
C-We may be given a tutorial by Phoenix if the Jury system has any more changes in court (such as the jury opinion guage some people said might be cool) and reflect on the basics how they still have not changed.

As for Takita taking over the "Larry" role, what I meant was simply his bad luck with women, ha ha ha.
But I think there's still a chance for Maki, too. Maybe not until GS6...? It'd be cool to see him a bit older.
Before GS2, I wouldn't have expected characters like Will and Oldbag to return, since they were so tied to Global. And Maggey, quitting the police to become a waitress? I think most GS characters are dynamic enough they can be shoved around with relative ease.

Mr Wright-The Prosecutor! (don't ask how, but, he liked edgeworth a lot, and wants the murderer taken down so much, he defects to the prosecution for this one case)
Odoroki -v- Phoenix!!!!
Far-fetched, but, i like the twist...
also, think ing of my theory for 5-1 earlier, about the apprentice for odoroki, who quotes from the law book (stuff that Odoroki knows, like "So your going to Cross Examine now Mr Odoroki?")
anyway
this apprentice can turn out to be the defedant in the next case, or the guilty party in any of the other cases...!

The second case, he ends up entangled in a vast conspiracy. He solves it, and takes down the network with the help of none other than Edgeworth, vigilante forced to resign from law due to his fierce opposition to corruption in all parts of the field.
And this almost gets Odoroki killed.
Phoenix, (if he's helping Odoroki,) forces Odoroki to take up civil law instead for a while.
Soon, it erupts into moider!
The twist?
It's beginning to look like Edgey the vigilante killed Odoroki's client, who was actually a bribe/blackmail organizer. (Violet White?)
And Odoroki has to defend the interests of the family of his client, the victim, and they want Edgeworth behind bars!
Oh, and no case 5, just 2 case 4s!
You can lose on purpose and be tried for obstruction of justice, or you can win against Edgeworth, in which case more interrogation reveals that Edgey was really protecting...
