I know right? I could imagine Grossberg intervening or helping Phoenix because he has troubles with his weight too. At first Phoenix would be a bit like "WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOURSELF?" but with guilt and with Grossberg's advice he would be more... idk either "I'll help you get through this" or "I love you anyways"

If there are no objections, how about a bit of a subject shift?
I've always wondered what it was that made Iris fall in love with Phoenix. I think that she said that "being by his side" made her love him, but I'm left wondering if he did or said something in particular that made her fall for him. Maybe she just admired his faith in people.
And another thing! How the hell did she fail to get that necklace?! I just wish that there was an official manga or something that could shed some light on what their college relationship was like. One of my hopes is that if they ever do a Phoenix Wright anime, they'll give the Phoenix+Iris story more detail.

As for the necklace matter, Iris needed to get it back from him ASAP because his life was in danger as long as it was in his possession. There's no way that she would have stalled on purpose!

Yeah, she is a very submissive, shy, reserved person who is loyal to a fault.
I don't think submissiveness is a bad thing. I think that submissiveness just is. It's a personality trait, and like all traits, it can be a weakness or a strength. In Iris's case, she let it turn into a weakness.
As we all know, redemption is a major theme of the AA series. Iris is a person who desperately seeks redemption. I personally think she would have went through hell in prison... I mean, come on. The other inmates would have walked all over her. And she would have took it, because she would have felt like she deserved it (this is just my opinion, of course). Characters who have charmed lives without earning them usually aren't likable, because they aren't relatable.
I just like to think that while Phoenix was going through his personal hell, Iris was going through hers.
