Why? At the very least, the black psyche-locks were never explained (and no, I don't think Apollo just broke them in court, even if he couldn't see them). Plus, he's at least as likely to return as Dahlia because of his consistent and overwhelming connections with the devil. Of course, when I clear my head from the haze of hare-brained theories, I realize that, in reality, he's almost DEFINITELY not going to be GS5's final villain, but all I can do is speculate (and hope).

I like the idea of Kristoph coming back in some capacity, but not as the final villian that you have to break. He would have to spontaneously combust on the stand to outdo his DBZ Breakdown.

Agreed, I kind of felt that it was anti-climatic. The black psych-locks, the incredible breakdown... All to find out, what? He wanted revenge? He was prideful? Thats not much of a surprise, in my opinion.
You know what might be cool? If Kristoph was in cahoots with someone, someone who WANTED the jurist system to be in place, so that he could use it to his advantage.
In fact, that just sparked an idea! What if some super-evil guy gets arrested for a crime, and Apollo defends him? The evil guy would put on a good show, talking about how he didn't do it and what not, really making Apollo think he is innocent. Then, when they finally go to court, Apollo fights tooth and nail for the evil guy, and, even though all of the evidence is stacked against Apollo, Apollo manages to get the guy off because he makes the jury "feel" like he is innocent...
This would really show the darkside of the jurist system, and would be a kick in the face to both Apollo and Phoenix. However, I have no idea how Apollo would make it right again... Perhaps it should be a multi-case ordeal?

That's basically the direction I expect the series to go in now. After all, EVERY game up to now has hammered home the theme of how broken and inadequate the mantra of "evidence is everything" was. The jurist system will be no panacea itself, I'd say. We'll see how it plays out though.
