Tenchi Muyo & Tenchi Universe are some of my favourite anime shows and I would like to know any comments on the series (Tenchi in Tokyo fans can comment on that too if they want).

I watched a few episodes of it whenever it came on Cartoon Network.. and I used to rent the 2nd movie DVD whenever I could.

So it was a prety decent series at the time. *grin*

I liked Ryoko. (and Sasami... and Ryo-oki. )
and Tenchi/Ryoko was my OTP. =3

I used to watch it when it was on Cartoon Network too. It was my favorite show. Ryoko was one of my favorite characters. I thought her and Tenchi were perfect for each other. I honestly didn't care for Ayeka and found her to be mostly annoying. I think Tenchi Universe was the best out of all of them. As far as I can remember, Tenchi In Tokyo was pretty bad. Oh, and there was Ryo-ohki too, the adorable cabbit. Didn't they even make a few movies based on the series?

When I was in high school it used to air on Cartoon Network, and it was the anime to watch if you didn't want to be an anime noob. Needless to say, it was edited much to our amusement (I remember informing my sister that it was definitely not tea that they were drinking in those scenes... And those swimsuits were clearly drawn on for the American version). Yup, those were the days.
Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Universe were pretty good, but I honestly couldn't stand Tenchi in Tokyo.. I felt the storyline was weak, characterization was mediocre, and the animation took a serious decline. Also, the new girl character in that season.. I hated her. She seemed very much like a "Oooh, I like Tenchi, but I don't like any of these chicks he's with so... NEW CHARACTER THAT HE WILL LOVE FOREVER TIEM!! WOO!".

Now, back to the seasons at hand... Tenchi Universe was probably my favorite of the series. It had more cabbits. Washu was crazy and had her little "You are a genius Washu! You are the greatest Washu!" robots, which I have coveted since they first appeared on US airwaves. Plus, I just loved how destructive and completely insane she was.

Other than that, I was stuck in my "purple hair would be awesome" phase, and so Ayeka was an instant favorite at that point in time.

The shows are great! Tenchi Universe was my absolute favorite! Tenchi in Tokyo was so-so...but I wish they didn't place that Mary-Sue Siaka or whatever her name is in the series. I never saw the new installment...I forgot what it was called though.

Sasami is my favorite! :larry2:

I loved the Tenchi series. Tenchi Universe was my definite fave. I hated Tenchi in Tokyo though. Everyone seemed so OOC. Especially Mihoshi. Instead of being just a klutz, it seemed like she was just purposely stupid. And their eyes were so bright!!! I thought I was gonna go blind!!!!

Well, out of all the characters in the Tenchi series, I probably liked Sasami. She seemed the most sane outta all of the girls and her adult form is hot. It may sound sick cause its loli, but I always wanted her to end up with Tenchi. A man has gotta eat after all, so he needs to marry a woman who knows how to cook!!!

Spoiler:
I know they are in Tenchi Muyo, but I didn't think they were in Tenchi Universe, because the Jurai bloodline and the stories and such were a bit different. Like in Universe, Ryoko knew Ayeka as a kid instead of being locked away in a shrine. Besides, as far as relations go anyways, his grandfather is only Ayeka and Sasami's half brother, so that would make him their half-second nephew? So the blood ties wouldn't be too too strong, so they wouldn't have a mutant kid. Of course, this is just in Muyo. I'm not real sure about their relations in Universe.

Either way, I still find it...rather disturbing when people paired them up.

I watched Tenchi Muyo! on video tape a long time ago. I watched it again when it was on Cartoon Network too, just to see what would get edited. I remember watching one of the earlier episodes of Tenchi Universe, and noticed Ryoko said, "Damn it!" and it wasn't edited.

Spoiler: Tenchi In Tokyo Ending
I liked Tenchi Muyo! and Tenchi Universe, but Tenchi in Tokyo wasn't that great. In the end, it was weird when Yami turned out to be Sakuya.

My favorite character is Little Washu! I love her little puppet robots that cheer for her in Tenchi Universe. The eighth Tenchi Muyo! episode with the baby sitting was adorable too.

Tenchi Muyo started sucking ass when the whole "Washu is a goddess of the universe" thing started popping in.

I prefer'd the manga (forget what it's called) out of them all.

And Tenchi Universe ended after the final battle. No Ryoko coming back to life shit. She died awesomely.

No, in the OVA Arc and in the Universe Arc he doesn't but I can't blame you for forgetting.

Yes, and it's about everyone else and their dog XD

I liked Tenchi Universe best, although I doubt I want to see the original Japanese Version (They cut out most of the dirty stuff for US, and I'm glad about that; I don't find dirty jokes that funny X3) Washu was the greatest, she was off the wall! Still pretty tho... :3

Tenchi is the greatest series EVER. I have one of the old VHS tapes...the baby sitting episode mentioned earlier.
I've read some of the manga too [No Need For Tenchi!] and it's damn funny. xD

The second Tenchi movie freaked me out a bit...however it was still awesome.

It's been some time since I've seen the series in any form, though I do still like the three I've seen. Yes, that includes Tenchi in Tokyo, and while it wasn't quite up to par with Muyo and Universe, it wasn't quite so bad for its time.

Also, I still remember searching for, then buying the movies altogether in a bundle for $10. They must have been selling pretty bad to have been marked down to that price.

I was SO into this series once. the No Need for Tenchi manga was the first manga series I ever bought. I even have some little figurines I got a long time ago...

I loved Washu. One of my favorite female characters, there. I always tend to love the brainiacs...
